It's not supposed to be. It's a progression. A simple one. This isn't romance genre where they discuss the romantic potential. A lot of series does this and leads to romance by the end. Naruto is the same, which is why the end was shoving down significantly. That's why I don't buy it at all.I know but I can't find romance in that moment....
until now, of all NaLu moments, I find most of them being progression in friendship but not enough to be romantic...
I haven't read Rave Master so I have no idea about Hiro's style of pairing development though.

I've probably already say this before, but I do ship NaLi there's just something about that relationship that i find better than NaLu. However despite my preference I wouldn't be upset if NaLu ends up becoming canon given the progression between the two characters. I guess part of the other reason why I ship NaLi as oppose to NaLu is because, this might sound stupid, it would just seem like HaruxEllie even though I found the moments between them more romantic than NaLu (just saying). Hopefully I'm not sounding like an anti because but I just wanted to get my point across.

When I was reviewing it, I just realized why people compared and think it is mocking Naruto. It's a huge coincidence but a good one at that. In a way, it almost feel rather sad because it's like if you read both, you would know which one has the right way of doing it. Let's face it, the promise was all you really needed for pairing wise, unless the protagonist start to think to move forward. This is Shounen, not romance. It's very simple.
But oh well. It's a coincidence.
I think people forget about the content of the Dragon invasion arc, it was Lucy who went back in time to save them, she's the one who died on their behalf. Gray going well Gray that led to the death of Frogsh, and likely started the evens that turned Rogue, well Rogue, the same one who went back in time like Lucy and killed past Lucy.
By saving Gray, Natsu is eliminating that possible future, and saving that Lucy from the future....I think that's why Natsu spoke so passionately then because he's been seen the snowball effect of that outcome. Oh and let's not forget.

I guess that's what happens when Sasuke don't take all of the role, you obtain a heroine.

But yes, it make sense why Natsu did that because it's becoming true if everything goes the way it did.

Oh I don't mind that. Not much for now. I was referring to Naruto. I feel like it was always Naruto/Sakura, as Sasuke being the Sesshomaru of the series. There, but not the main plot.hah! I told you!

Not going to lie, but I haven't read FT: 0. I should though.
I've read up to the latest chapter (9) when it comes to FT Zero, and I got to say it's pretty interesting. Not only do you get an insight on Mavis's character, but you also find out just how hillarious she can be. Then again we did see some of her comedic factor in the GMG arc.

I actually heard it's arguably better than the real series.

And this is made by Mashima? It is. It's mainly due to a lot of the revelations that would provide the basis for the main series' conflicts, particularly about Zeref. Not only that, we get to see the true extent of Mavis' abilities.

Despite the horrible fanservice in Fairy Tail, I've been told that the art in the manga stays pretty much consistent and clean every week.
