A way I look at Karin and Sakura as opposed to Ino and Sakura is Ino is more like a big sister to Sakura, someone she squabbles with but invariable they always back each other up and love each other dearly.

 

Karin is like a True friend, someone she speaks to as an equal no silly rivalry simply two friends with lots in common.

 

Both Have Naruto and Sasuke in common both are med nins both are feisty and fiery and both stand firm by their loved one and if needed stand in front of them

Karin taking down the Buddha Statue thing and Sakura tearing open Naruto were such touching scenes. Then the final panel where they were suppose to die and wake up, surrounded by the people they changed and the people who love them. 

 

Really makes me think why Someone wouldn't just insert Hinata-hime if she was going to be with Naruto. Atleast then there would have been some form of development.

I think Karin & Sakura have the potential to be better friends than Sakura & Ino.  Sakura and Ino have that dumb rivalry going on while you can tell Karin and Sakura would have more compassion for eachother.  I don't really support SasuKarin so I can imagine the both of them talking crap on Sasuke. xD

I imagine in my head canon that there'd be a scene in events akin to The Last where Ino and Sakura hang out, with Ino asking Sakura if she only loved Sasuke because of her rivalry with Ino and vice verse, and Ino would end up telling Sakura she's learned to move on, hinting that she's begun to date Choji as part of my fanon is with them married and with twins.

 

Though given Sakura isn't too honest sometimes with herself, she isn't sure what to do when she blurts out that Naruto loved her because of his rivalry to Sasuke, because she was embarrassed Ino perhaps was right, which is why I wanted to explore it. I basically see the events of The Last for my fanon being almost the same with differences, such as the conclusion, and things like, say, the opening sequence with it showing how Naruto fell in love with Sakura, and/or him helping her somehow when they were kids.
