I also do not understand the whole Naruguy thing. I understand when it's a friendship thing. Even a close friendship. (Some fics that do label NaruGaa or what have you, they're all about the friendship.) I have no problems with that, because they do have a great dynamic. As for Sasuke killing Naruto and the series becoming 'Sasuke' I call it the 'Zero Syndrome'. It has happened in other game,s but to date, Megaman is the first I recall in which it happened. Where another character, who one could even call a Mary Sue to some extent, shows up, is COOLER and much more fun to use by far than the main character, and more focus starts getting placed on him. It's ... INSANE! It happens in Castlevania too, where I would much rather play as Alucard in Symphony of the Night, and Zero in Megaman. There are other instances, but none come to mind right now.
My worse failure converting comes to discussing the dub, not NaruSaku. God did I get flamed for not liking it and stating my opinion. (Which I still hold, that the dub is of poor quality.) I'll admit I did not state myself well in the beginning, but even after I restated myself in a more reasonable and clear fashion, the reaction was only marginally improved. As for the NaruSaku conversions, they're usually so steeped in personal preference that I'll argue, but not really try to convert in any way. Ah well, such as it is.
Zero syndrome? WTF?! No. Not in this case. Naruto > Sasuke, and Sasuke isn't a cooler character, so this doesn't really fit. I mean, Zero is WAY better than X, unless it's a Megaman X game where X gets this Ultra cheesy armor (which is, like, most of them). Alucard is like one of the best Castlevania characters EVER. How does Sasuke fit into these ranks? I hardly find him a cooler character (I'll pass on the emo-angst, thanks) and he's NOT a better fighter either, contrary to popular belief.
Lol, that, and Naruto's not a Megaman, and he doesn't suffer the long standing Megaman syndrome that Capcom introduced with the series. Megaman syndrome - You have the main character (Megaman). Nearly EVERY enemy AND ally of this character will be UNDENIABLY hotter than him. (With the original, you got Protoman, Bass, most of the robot masters, etc. X, you got Zero, some would say Axl, etc. Megaman.exe, you got nearly EVERY Net Navi EVER.) Yet it'll still be Megaman who wins in the end.
But hey, I'm drifting off topic...
My worst failure was... umm... I dunno. Most of the time I only try to convert those who I feel I can. Combine with the fact that I try not to debate with stupid people who don't look at other P.O.V.s, and the fact that even if I don't succeed the first time it turns into a giant debate war until I win XD and I honestly can't say the last time I lost a debate, esp. concerning Naruto. Guess I'm just lucky, huh?
