Hey folks. Yeah, I know, "Denim's making another thread on fanfiction??"

Yes, and no. This is only a discussion thread. Ideas I have will likely end up on here. Why? Namely because I'm a person who's horrible at keeping thoughts to myself (ask Paradox Jast or True, they'll agree).

Anyway, for those of you who have read my work recently, I'd just like to hear your thoughts. I get reviews, yes, but most of the time they're an 'great chapter, update soon.' I'd like to hear more. Even what you don't like, I'm willing to listen to.


Anyway, I'm currently working on my Naruto/Rosario+Vampire crossover, RosarioJinchuuriki and my Bleach/Naruto crossover, Cracked Mask. Personally, I enjoy Cracked Mask a bit more for the simple fact that I've made Naruto the way I envisioned him if he became an Arrancar. I already have the ending of this story in mind, but there's much I have yet to cover. I'll likely start on the next chapter of that crossover soon enough. I also have updated Existence recently, my NarutoxTemari fanfic. Currently it's around the time when Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru all squared off during the Search for Tsunade arc.

I'm just about finished with my rough draft of RosarioJinchuuriki. I'll just have to get it looked over one or two more times and then I'll post it. It'll likely be up before the end of my winter break.

On top of that, I have been messing with the idea of making a third Naruto/Bleach crossover. Yes, this one would be different though. Naruto is a Vizard (I've already made him a Shinigami and an Arrancar in my other two, why not make the other one?), and he's a former vice-captain. I've got a chapter fleshed out, but I'm debating on posting it until I get more done on my other fics, so yeah.

Well, not much else for me to say at the moment. If any of you have questions, feel free to ask. I can't promise I'll answer them, but it never hurts to try.

Yeah...but this idea could possibly be better than my other stories, lol. An experienced Shinigami/Vizard!Naruto would be awesome. I'll probably hold off until I get either Cracked Mask finished or Seireitei no Jinchuuriki.

Well I think you should continue crack mask because I love that story it's awesome also I'm sorry but I think I'm one of those people who had review your stories with the " great chapter update soon" yeah sorry for that but I love the whole story so I don't know what else to say. I also think you should continue your outbreak story.

In addition I would like to suggest if you're willing to make another Naruto/Resident Evil crossover but with Naruto being in the world of RE maybe pair him up with one of the RE ladies or make a harem with Claire, Jill, Rebeca, Sheva but it will be all right if you pair him up with one girl I would suggest if its Claire.

ARRGH LANCE PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH. AND KITTY TOO. ARRG. She reminds me of those abused chicks who just can't stay away, oh he'll change! It doesn't hurt that much! See I can move it every few minutes! BAH on her face

I was kinda mixed about this one, tommy. Don't get me wrong, I friggin loved it (you sparked alittle bit of my love for the pairing again after all this time when I've moved on whoo boy) but there were like two things that glared at me, and since you're askin for it, I might as well share all I feel!

I really enjoyed how you jumped right into the plot, BUT when you the characters a mini bio I was alittle turned off by that. I personally know too much about them, so ya don't have to worry about catching me up

and the other thing was the transitions, they were a tiny bit awkward. Like that part where Kurt's all mc broody pants? Well he's suddenly broody and then he "decides to get food" -- Idk, I think I'm just being a Picky Polly, but maybe you could've wedged an intimate detail about how maybe Kurt was like most chicks and felt the need to stuff his face when butthurt -- something like that? I liked the way you incorporated food though, his character really shines when he's stuffing his face hehe. Anyway there's this one and the only other one that bugged me theeee Kitty one. When she left Kurt's room to settle in? Yeah, it was alittle awkward to me. Again maybe I'm being a Picky Polly, but her leaving so abruptly after that full-dialogue scene caught me off guard personally.

BUT thats all that I'm gonna nag about, mister D. I loved everything else about it (including the faults if that makes sense XD)

I really enjoyed the melancholy feel to it, how you added Logan and Rogue and then finally the arrival of Pryde herself. Also I liked how you stated she joined SHIELD instead of just going off to school or something -- Kitty's a whiz in school and could probably give alot to her profession, but I like to see her stay as a fighter, I dunno I think it just fits. But hey if she can do both I'm all for it; college kid by day, x-man by night and all that.

OH AND THE REUNION. D'aw awkward silences. In fact, I was pleasantly caught off guard by them already having had a relationship -- i friggin love when relationships have rough, deep, put-some-elbow-grease-innit histories. Best ever.

I think you should give a shot at making a lemon it's like narrating a scene that you're having intimate relations with your girlfriend and you make a few changes when it comes to the characters changing them into the characters of your story. I hope this helps even if its a little.

Hiya folks, long time no see, eh?

Well, I finally got done with the rough draft of chapter 15 of Outbreak. For those of you who remember, that was my fanfic where the Narutoverse was hit by a strange infection that caused people to become bloodthirsty and dangerous. Naruto and a group of survivors from various parts of the Elemental Countries band together to survive.

I'll have to wait until Jast has given me the green for go, since he's my beta. It could be awhile (since it's been over a year since I updated that fic, shame on me), and Jast may need some time to refresh his memory on the storyline. Aside from that, the thirteenth chapter of Cracked Mask has been started. Not sure when I'll be done with that. Classes own my life during most of the week, so free-time is a luxury to me.

Well, keep an eye open. Maybe re-read Outbreak so when it comes out you'll have it fresh in your mind!

Well folks, it's been awhile since I've put any real posts on here, heh.

This is a question to all readers, not just those that read my fics (though this question can pertain to my works). Anyway, my question to you is this:

What's your view on character death in a story? Why do you view it as such?

I honestly can say that at times, character death can be a really big element of a plotline for a story. Other times...not so much, and even pointless. In the case of the Narutoverse-especially the younger shinobi-the death of a character often leads to the ones affected learning to 'grow up'. Yeah, common idea, but it's true. There's no better way to get a dose of harsh reality than to see someone die. Morbid? Yes. It's true though, as harsh as it sounds.

The one thing I've been having trouble with in regards to Naruto (and this is from the very beginning of Shippuden, mind you) is that there wasn't an element of mortality that I felt. Gaara was brought back, though Chiyo DID die to revive him. However, the attack on Konoha by Pain also proves my point. Shizune and Kakashi were two characters who played roles in the Narutoverse (Shizune to a lesser extent, unfortunately), and both died with little hope of 'coming back'. Still, we see Shizune revived, as well as Kakashi. I guess in the case of Kakashi, he was in limbo with death (the campfire talk with his father while he was dying sort of symbolized that).

Anyway, my point being is that Naruto, being a manga about ninja, shows little death. It's understandable, being a series for younger fans, but you understand, right?

Well, on to my point. I plan on showing this 'darker' side of the shinobi world in Existence. There will be pain, there will be death, and people will have scars from war to show. I have some confirmed plans to the story, but I want to hear your thoughts, be it on what characters would have the biggest/smallest effect if they died, what would happen if they did, etc.

simply put as long as the death is done within the themes of the narutoverse, and done tastefuly as possible not for visceral or shock value, then its an acceptable and understandable writers tool.

For me one example of a death that in a way should have happend was Hinata. to me her death would have served as a rallying cry and been a strong moment in the manga adding a touch of personal feeling for the rookies and would have brought even greater pathos and meaning to Narutos search for the Answer to peace.

given the tone of your story and the themes so far in evidence I really only see 3 people with plot immunity. Naruto Sakura and Gaara.

Naruto for obvious reasons, Gaara as a step up to Kazekage thuis forming the root of an alliance, and Sakura as the successor to tsunade, and as Narutos potential future love interest. Temari in some ways is interesting but theres too much of a clash of personality between them. Temaris far too analytical for him, hes a man of action and dynamic thought. Sakura while capable of analytical thinking is actually far more fluid in her thought processes as shown in her fight with sasori. She was able to adapt and flourish during the battle.

In many ways I think youve set up a wonderful story in that regard as a way to transition from naruto temari to Naruto sakura and do it in a compeltely believeable manner. Naruto must eventually return to Konoha to take up the role of hero and eventual hokage. Sakura is the perfect person to welcome him back in that regard and to ease the transition from suna to Konoha.

that said. the key to effective character death is to keep in mind the themes and tonality of the narutoverse and its shonen roots. Death is a consequence of battle and only done after the character has learned a valuable lesson.

thus Hakus death, or Gaaras death, and Chiyo and Asumas deaths.

Well...I don't want to give anything away, but this won't be a NaruSaku, or to put it better, this story will be mainly NaruTema. I'm just creating drama for the characters right now in the story, and Sakura's having guilty feelings for the blond. Naruto and Temari are still rather young, and keep in mind that most of the main characters are not even 16 yet. Relationships, most of the time anyway, aren't that concrete at their current age.

I agree with you on character death though. Lessons are learned by the character and those who survive the fight.
