To be honest I thought the Rinnegan would have more abilities that those Peins' power were just the ones Nagato gave to them, or that those were Nagato's 6 abilities. Instead those power seem to be all they are able to do; other then be another power up for the sharingan.

And then you get even more hyped over the reveal of the Rinnegan - the supposedly "most powerful" doujutsu - especially after seeing what Nagato could do with it when he was able to decimate Konoha single-handed, including some of their best shinobi and even Naruto himself (until THAT happened XP), and yet at the same time, they keep him from being completely OP when he admits to things like he would have lost to Jiraiya if it weren't for Jiraiya being taken by surprise with the Rinnegan and its abilities, or that the things he has demonstrated with it so far were nowhere near as powerful as the original Rikudo Sennin, so it left a lot of room open for learning more about the Rinnegan and its abilities.

Sadly, because of the constant Uchiha wanking, the Rinnegan was reduced to being little more than just a SYMBOL of power rather than actually BEING powerful (that was just left up to the Sharingan, as usual, even making the Rinnegan itself part of the Sharingan essentially with the whole "evolution" into it from an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan if you combine Senju and Uchiha DNA) when it came to ones like Obito and Madara having / using it themselves; Obito not introducing anything new with it - just using a watered down version of Nagato's Six Paths (that didn't even have any of the individual abilities of the Rinnegan like Nagato's did, IIRC), and Madara merely dropping a couple meteors and using a "perfected Susanoo" (which was little more than just a full-bodied one rather than half, but otherwise operated the same way), and not seeming to even use most of the abilities that were introduced by Nagato, but otherwise not doing anything new or unique with it. In the end, it felt like the ONLY purpose the Rinnegan served was purely for the Rinne Tensei - a convenient way to be able to bring people back to life.

Not to mention, Nagato alone was giving KCM Naruto and Killer Bee a tough fight. He was OP as hell. I don't know how Jiraiya could've beaten him even with full knowledge of his abilities. All it takes is Shinra Tensei and it's GG for pervy sage. They were just hyping up Jiraiya, but going by feats Pain/Nagato is way more powerful.

 

I don't know about that though, Rinnegan is the most powerful dojutsu because the wielder basically becomes a chakra god with it granting them access to six path techniques, complete mastery of all the 5 chakra natures and access to any type of ninjutsu, that's OP asf dude. I agree though that the Sharingan gave me the impression that it was more powerful because it grants large array of abilities such izanagi, susanoo and yasaka beads. But i think it's the uchiha dna that's actually powerful not the dojutsu itself because not all the uchiha can use the same techniques, some are unique to others.

Nagato during the war was broken as hell. I mean, literally, was I the only one thinking that his chakra cannon gun was very out of place? I thought guns wasn't even allow in the series (despite the only appearance way back in the beginning).

I always assumed it was more of a cannon than a gun. And really, a lot of Nagato's stuff was nuts. Imagine if Madara actually used all the Paths in battle.

Like I said, aside from Madara using the couple of meteors, a "perfected" Susanoo, and the mention of Banbutsu Sozo (The Creation of All Things - Izanagi said to be a watered down version of), it didn't seem like there was anything else really give to it and that even the abilities introduced by Nagato weren't really used at all - mostly just used as a plot device ala Dragon Ball for its Rinne Tensei, but otherwise one of a number of dropped subjects in the end. Even Sasuke merely uses Chibaku Tensei to entrap the Biju, but nothing else.

I more blame the fact that the Nagato of the war was under Edo Tensei and thus had infinite chakra, regeneration, and so on, but I do admit that it allowed him to show off a bit without worry of chakra exhaustion and such like when he invaded Konoha (as Konan had warned him about a couple times, especially when he used the big Shinra Tensei to flatten most of the village). Like Amaterasu, the black fire said to be unable to be extinguished for seven days and nights outside of the caster making it disappear, was put out by a single small burst of Shinra Tensei when Edo Itachi used it on Edo Nagato.

i always liked to compare them to sith for some reason cuz im a star wars nerd. Madara reminded me a lot of Exar Kun while Nagato/pein reminded me of Vader. and this one might tick some off but, Itachi as Revan.

Do not even dare to compare Lord Revan to any Naruto character.

Based on the kind of comments I was reading in the "What if Naruto married Sakura" video, the Naruto fandom is mostly kool-aid drinking cancer at this point. Pathetic and disgusting comments all around. As a result, Boruto is not the series the Naruto fandom needs, but the one it deserves.

Damn was it really that bad many people kitten and all that man that is just sad, you know when Hinata dies in Boruto I shall smile a big smile.

 

 

Having graduated from undergrad and law school, I've had my fair share of these kinds of professors and have found all of them to be blowhards who teach for their own self-glorification. And given some of what you've explained to us here about how well NH was fleshed out in the Naruto manga and how it has zero retcons/plotholes, I think you might wanna get a refund on Mr. Winegardner's course curriculum and instead apply for a good internship somewhere that'll give you actual on-the-job experience as opposed to listening to some elitist nut who will actually give you a failing grade because he doesn't like your story. If J.K Rowling can go from living on the streets to being a billionaire as a result of writing Harry Potter, then one can go a long ways without listening to pompous blowhards like Mark Winegardner.

Oh man I was rewatching season 2 the other day, and man it takes me back... This might be me, but looking back I feel this is a better scene than how the Tenchi bridge scene was handled in Naruto, especially when you consider how it handled Katara's reaction:

Honestly I wouldn't really compare a foreign medium with an American medium like this, particularly given the characters relationships at the time in Naruto. They barely knew eachother during the Tenchi Bridge arc, and are still a rather fresh team during the Forest Stuff too. 
 
Granted, scene is pretty good in the show though.

What are ya talking about, it was Hinata who accompanied Naruto to the Hidden Sand, it was Hinata who fought Sasori and it was Hinata who joined them at the Tenchi Bridge Arc and healed Naruto. Hinata has been there for Naruto since before the manga began right? Oh even before Iruka apparently!

I think nh fans just are people whom don't give a damn about the plot, they just want to get their paring... I meant we just have to ask them the about naruto's plot I can say no one gonna said it's about naruto reaching his goals... They are a bunch of idiot

They say we only kitten on the ending because we didn't get the pairing we wanted, but we can turn that around and say they only like it because they did get what they wanted. ;p

Anyhow I wasn't really talking about how idiotic they are but bad people who harass other fans. Those are everywhere.
