#990994 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

Posted by Konoha'sCrimsonFox on 17 March 2024 - 02:01 PM

Yeah I think you are looking to negatively into this, as I don't think Kishimoto only starting to like sakura at the beginning of part 2, pretty sure he was fond of sakura from the beginning of part 1.

Also I don't think sakura held too long of a grudge against naruto for the womanly comments, as she show great concern for his wellbeing when she learnt that naruto was a jinjuriki and if he is captured by the akatsuki and has his tailed beast extracted he will die. Along with the tenchi Bridge and seeing naruto in his 4 tailed transformation followed up by yamato hinting that she feels something more for naruto.

Arguably afterwards kishimoto did afterwards was slow burning development with the sakura trying feed scene and her showing having a similar pervey side like naruto when kohonahamaru showed of the sexy no justu before doing the big hug in the pain arc.

Now arguably doing the slow burn for a series as long as naruto caused long term problems as many fans failed to see and ended up thinking hinata was the love intrest due to that big pain moment. Heck this tends to be a problem for many series that do slow burn like avatar the last airbender, as not everyone saw it coming despite obvious hints.

It probably didn't help that around this time new editors came in with an anti sakura agenda to replace sakura with hinata which probably effected the writting around sakura so much that it ended up the mess that it did. Also didn't help that kishimoto became very insecure with Sakura's popularity in the west.

Pretty sure kishimoto post ending interviews are just damage control by jump to avoid the backlash with how he made the canon couples and the not a romance manga is just a poor exuse to as to why the canon couples are so bad.

I think its fine if a series makes it that one character is in love with more than one person though they got to make it eventually clear like nisekoi did. Also kishimoto should of really addressed the love confession much sooner to make it clear that sakura was in love with naruto, but also still had some feelings for sasuke.

I do have to apologize my neutral perspective seems like soured the mood. It was never my intention. I mean, it took awhile to put the past behind me that it doesn't no longer effect my life.

Edit: For those who don't want to read my final post on this negative debate, skip down to the line breaker and read the spoiler box. I have come up with a possible NS reboot manga Kishi could serialized.

Even if it pains me to think outside the NS box, I come to a conclusion that shonen manga or I should say SJ comics in general got away with a lot of undeveloped endgame pairings since the dawn of manga serialization in Japan perhaps a century old or older.

I know the passing Akira Toriyami got away with Vegetta and Bulma. Fun fact Ramenastu translated rumors back in 2014 from 2chan (Japan's main anime forum) that Tori faced a similar situation as Kishi is that he started to get tire of DBZ and wanted to end. SJ deny it and stated DBZ was too popular to conclude, so that why Trunks was born lol. It seems like he wanted to decreased the popularity of DBZ, but like Naruto, it had too much momentum in sales.

In theory, it seem like when time Yahagi left, he and Kishi had to put Sakura on the back seat because she no longer have the role as the FML. So throughout the remaining duration of the manga, the FML role is just an empty title. Where I'm basing this off of is the interview first Kishi and Yahagi had together since the conclusion. We found out in that interview that Kishi was not found off Team Taka and Sasuke became somewhat like a second protagonist (bromance). Not for the plot... as a business transaction. The increase in Sasuke's screen time was meant to bring in more fans and sadly this might have lead up to the demise of NS.

This is why Kishi never wrote NH.

Whatever happened behind close doors, it all points into the direction that the intended female lead being paired plot has been scrapped due to traditions in the shonen genre to be self centered around action and adventure from male population. Unfortunately, pairings in traditional shonen manga are meant to create/introduce more characters. DBZ is perhaps the best example I can come up with.

Even if its been many years since I'd watched the very last episodes of Z and the non canon GT (never watched Super), I still do not know how Toriyama got away with Goku and ChiChi too. I'm not saying I dislike the pairing (I'm also GokuChi fan too). Its that these a lot of the traditional male Jump protagonist are muscles brains that either lack IQ or knowledge. I mean Goku didn't know how to tell between the opposite. Not to mention he has little to no knowledge of romance and what happens between man and woman on screen. But it had to be done in order to create characters like Gohan and Trunks.

Even in modern times, I see this happening with BlackClover which is the Aster so post to be Naruto likewise Juno has Sasuke's shadows. I put Asta in this category of muscle brain MCs not because he's Anti Magic. But it seems like his intelligence on romance is misinformed like Goku. I could be very wrong since I put BC on such a long hiatus, but during my time reading, Asta apparently wants to marry the nun that seems to raised him. Apparently, unlike Naruto, Asta is lucky to have a fangirl base. However, despite wanting to marry the nun girl, It seems like Asta's knowledge what happens between man and woman might still be premature like a toddler. I mean if you have least a kid or grandchild, that child might tell you marry when they grow up.

This is why I lose faith and romance shonen manga these days. It's a rarity to get something like Fullmetal Alchemist and Inuyasha.

Traditional shonen manga forced Kishi to put NS romance on hold to increase Sasuke popularity for the sales. In general, I heard editors do get switched out in during a long durations comics from time to time. Again in theory, it's likely Yahagi's departure has to do with Sakura not getting with Naruto.

It makes since that people are putting the blame on the 14 editors that kishi went through after Yahagi departed from Naruto.

Now putting on my NS cap once again. If Kishi loves Sakura/NS. It make absolutely sense why he would not go with that pairing at the end besides the pairing not being popular outside of Japan in his favor. If he's unable to write Naruto and Sakura as a proper couple. Kishi knew it would be a disgrace if he had done a cop out version of NS because of tradition relating to classic shonen manga.  That's why we have this atrocity aftermath of 700 chapter in the final chapter. That's Kishi's message to us fans, writing/illustrating Naruto for 15 years.

Now putting this terrible past behind us. I know there is a thread that topics about a what a reboot of Naruto should be like. I'm not sure if I'm going to be as active as I am in the future so I going to give my ideas on what a Naruto reboot should be like.

#990976 Very Sad News for Dragon Ball fans

Posted by Konoha'sCrimsonFox on 08 March 2024 - 11:10 AM

Man I got the news when I was on my lunch break yesterday. It's sad to see him go, because DB and DBZ (English dub) was my first Japanese anime I've every watched when I was a kid back in grade school while Naruto was my first manga. He will be missed. And my condolences goes out to his family and friends.

Normally this is only done for good/great character that passed away from posters in comment sections anywhere on the internet that's host stories or video games.

Cheeses Christ! :jawdrop:

I took 2 years off this doijin before to Tokai's latest update. Hopefully my return never jinxed it  :sweatdrop:

Assuming from here on out, besides the busy life, a lot of the plot will be "Original" besides with the exemption of the Toneri arc being end game.

If this ends up being my final post of 2023, I wish Happy Holidays all my NS family and a Happy New (crossing fingers, hoping its the year that we have a NS couple)  :grouphug:

For as long as read the series, Kishi is halfhearted when it comes to romantic relationships in Naruto. Him giving up on Sakura character after Sand Arc was not only her final moments of being the female lead in Kishi's head (as he switched to Sasuke), it was the sole reason why we have the pairings as it is.

Kishi forcing himself to comeback to the Naruto franchise just because he failed to profit from his discontinued comic is beyond laughable.

My opinion is that Kishi's should reeevaluate his skills and turn over a new leaf and just work with many writers because all he's good at is illustration.

Even if that myth was true, no company would be happy with the excuse for low sales being, "they don't like Boruto, so they didn't buy a side manga made for them." Especially, since Boruto happened by making the end pairings nH/SS.

Sakura lost her position due to fan-polling being used as a weapon against her, now 8 or so years later she is the third most popular character around the world. So she likely has both the data we can and cannot see behind her.

I think part of the reason they are focusing on Boruto right now beyond the years of low sales is; like how its happened in hopes of it keeping Naruto sales going when there at the time nothing to replace it. Now, most of the manga that did replace it are largely ending this year with nothing coming up seeming to be able to replace them. But instead of hoping it can hold up their figures while they wait for the new generation of shounen manga to make them money. They are finally looking at Boruto as its lost the manga that used to subsidize it. So now they pondering should they keep it around or just end it.

"What Kishi should've done: focus on making a good story, ignore the noises coming from the fandom. Especially the loud ones (looking at you NH/SS)." I'm pretty sure kishimoto made a comment like this after the ending...of course it backfired as the Japanese fans thought he was talking about them. I still think he was talking about his editors.

In theory, the genjutsu wasn't re-writing memories just showing Naruto and Hinata events that did happen. Showing Naruto that Hinata was always by his side, always loved him, and that they are bound by the red scarf of fate. Granted still a retcon by the anime staff

If you want an in-universe reason for why it happened. Ironically, Boruto last chapter gives a possible reason; an Otsutsuki likely used the shinjutsu 'Omnipotence' to rewrite the world so Naruto marries Hinata. So Boruto can be born. So femmy can possess his body. Of course, even with their minds re-written once Naruto and Hinata actually got together their lack of any chemistry made their marriage what it became.

Well do forgive me for that my knowledge comes from the final chapter of Naruto and the one-shot volume Naruto gaiden manga.

To my understanding that Kishi took over the previous author for the Boruto manga and killed off Kurama. That's pretty much I know sofar.

Kishi having to be hired back to perhaps ruined any chances of NS reboot, so it's reasonable that he cleans up after his mess with, starting with the canon relationships (unfortunately).

I recently watched the Alternate fanmade anime version of TL and when Sakura and Naruto got caught in the genjutsu, it refreshed my memories about the retcon flashback. Now it make totally sense that SP went the retcon route (originally I thought was to deceived the audience/readers/viewers for many years). It's all because of a fri**en Genjutsu that ruined our hero into being the number one SJ most scumbag protagonist in history. Even when nearly a decade has passed since chapter 700, it it really gets my blood boiling how SJ was brought to ruin and the aftermath of him being and old drunk and a terrible father.

Guys thanks for the info and saving me the pain to watch the film.

I was that kid  :hehehe: when I was a teen, my catch phrase was basically "I hate my life/I hate you mom/dad/I wish I were dead." But my parents still didn't avoid me even though they probably worked more than Naruto  and one of them was periodically over seas for months at a time. both of them still made time for their kids, If they COULD be at an event/birthday/holiday they were and I wasn't angry at them for working--I was angry at everything.

It was a pretty poor choice on their part to make Burrito that combative with Naruto but the whole thing is ultimately a clusterkitten of how not to write family dynamics. (Unless you're purposely writing families in crisis  :zaru: )

I think it would have been more effective for the entire k11 to plead their case to Naruto personally rather than using Sakura as a sacrificial lamb. At least then he's somewhat forced to explain himself and be countered with multiple points of view. but, NARUTO CANNOT BE QUESTIONED ABOUT SASUKE~ (Nor can Sakura.) He's the team 7 taboo.

I'm pretty sure it was the Last, but its possible they also added filler to it.

It was The Last

Ok... was the flashback during the scene when Naruto and Hinata were connected by a genjutsu sequence? Or was it introduced at a later point in the movie?

It's been a while since I've posted on this thread. I've long since stopped following Kishi' interviews. I think the last one was some where back in 2017 I think when he talked about Sakura and Hinata love triangle with Naruto, and how the much the Sakura haters on from Kishi',s assistants mocked Sakura being ugly lol.

Sure, Kishi kind of defended NS with, stating that he never had time to write a love triangle between these three characters and he went rambling about the manga being Shonen action story to justify his reasoning. Because he had many chances back then to explain everyone that Sakura has never romantically love Naruto' instead of doing questions with bogus answers for instance: he said to an interviewer not too long after chapter 700 that the reason why Naruto couldn't get with Sakura is because it would make her look bad and with a lot more where that came from during the early years before Boruto manga was even a thing.

Now from what I'm reading from his recent interviews (if it's post samurai 7) I just take it for salt and grain. Because ever since he got hired to do Boruto from what I heard and read, I have a feeling that Kishi, enthusiasm creator or employer of his work is gone and it just like me and many people that go to work for a living.

Thats my opinion.

What an awkward position Sakura is laying as if she's sleeping normally. Naruto is going to get clobbered tsundere style if this is the case as he's interrupting her sleep.

Anyways, I predict the next 2-3 pages will commence Kishi's NS scene of separation that infamously labeled Naruto the most scumbag protagonist in the history of Shonen Jumps.

There is plenty of ways Tokai can proceed with this development of the highly anticipated character redemption of Naruto Uzumaki from canon. I remembered Naruto's Seiyuu refused to voice the dialogue because how disgusted she was with the script.

It's going to be interesting from here on out. Because this will likely be the final nail in the coffin for NH in this story.

Heck... Tokai could throw a curve ball and teased us a NS "Attempted Kissing" only to be c***blocked/interrupted by Sai,Shikamaru or Sasuke😅

I took a break nearly 3 years away from H&E because life got too busy for me and also Tokai seems to drag out the canon filler arc on Hinata's Byakugan princess background. I missed you all my NS brothers and sister.

To be honest, I thought the we will still be on the arc till 2024 so was was not planning to check up on the update here until 2024 or the ending of this year. So I came back to gauged the response from you guys on the ALT fanmade film. it was to my surprise that I stumbled upon this video. But I'm a little disappointed that no one is discussing the fanmade movie version here of H&E. But not surprising in this current year that many of us have moved on and no longer care about the Naruverse and its sunken ships of the past and the new generation Naruto manga has apparently left its predecessor manga series  in the dust . If ATL part 1 went viral as early as 2017, this would have shaken the current naruverse/borruto to its foundation with massive uproars from pro-enders petitioning  Kishi to sue us all

Enough of my ranting, Im happy that this Hinata canon fillers are over and done with and I can't express how excited I'm am for the next couple of pages Tokai releases. Going to try my best to keep up from page to page from here on out.

#989548 Is Naruto the Last the worst movie?

Posted by Konoha'sCrimsonFox on 18 May 2023 - 10:31 AM

I have not watched SP's version of the movie, so I cannot give a rating (also have no intention of watching the movie in the foreseeable future). However, part 1 the Alternate version of the fan-made by Bluesky anime movie I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Simply the pacing was too fast for my linking and the movie appeared to have some audio issues.

Now on to the 4 star rating positive review, I'm totally shocked that this was not a remake by SP. What blew my mind is Sakura\s confession and feelings. I have watched it 6 times before this post and I counted the times she blushed. It is more than Kishi's serialized version. If Kishi had done this at the beginning (after Sand Village Arc) of part 2, the idea/concepts NH and SS by Kishi's assistants would have been obsolete  from the get-go. What a pity that the hands of destiny never played out the way we hope for and is soley the reason why Naruto versus Deidara 2.0 (which I theorized that it could have lead up to a major NS sequence) was completely forgot somewhere in the plot for Sasuke's huge involvement.

#983186 Naruto: Alternative The Last (Doujinshi)

Posted by Konoha'sCrimsonFox on 13 February 2021 - 08:02 PM

Okay, guys here it is a brand new page for all of us to enjoy and I think this is another good page.

naruto_doujin__alternative_the_last_ch_0
I mean that look Sakura is giving Naruto right now :excited: :excited: :excited:

First of all, its good that this site never got shutdown because it was down during the cloudware purge of manga websites.

Pros: I find this page reminds of the very first arc of Part the Sunakagure Arc where Sakura healed Gaara's brother. That Arc was the most highlighted of Sakura's character because Kishi during that time really portray her to be 100% FML. Her medic and combat skills were at the peak just before Kishi gave into popularity polls (one of the very first Part 2 interviews he states that Sakura was not popular).

Overall, the NaruSaku scene was very cute. this Sakura has not only grown but accepted her feelings towards Naruto. In the past as her kid or teenage self, she would get annoyed and in most cases SP would turn her into a Tsundere and hit Naruto (I admit. It was one of the few things I ever like about SP writing Sakura's character lol). Or maybe it's because Naruto's facial expression and sleep talking did not display any perverted thought or him being in heat  :lmao:

Cons: This has never bothered me in the past because I know Tokai is a one-man job. He does not have a crew like a professional mangaka would have at his/hers side.

And on top of that, Chinese Wuxia light novels adapted to manhua (Chinese comics) commonly has a very fast pacing and normally skips a lot of detail from the novel itself. For an example take a 5000 chapter LN. It's manhua counter part can  can cover over a 100 novel chapter within 10 comic chapters of illustration. Most cases, readers that have not read the original would get very confused because the story is jumping from one place to another. It just personal preference that I don't mind the pacing

But I feel like Tokai should not have skipped the NaruSaku scene. The con of this page is how did Shika and Sai got here? If I remember correctly, Naruto and Sakura got spit up from them at the bonefire/camp and went after Hinata. If I recalled correctly, they were no where near NaruSaku pair (the fight with Toneri), especially, when they fell into the crater which is now the cave. This current page feels like Tokai skipped an entire chapter on NaruSaku scene and Shika/Sai discovering them in the crater.

Overall, it presumably to say that the NaruSaku scene that that was high anticipated was off screen. Or maybe Shika and Sai was right behind them all this time and we have yet to have the NaruSaku scene where in the original was the NaruSaku scene of separation. At this point I'm completely lost at the current pacing of the story

Early Christmas present:

deb0mr1-9364bbbc-045d-46f9-b2da-bc9a092c

The moon fell apart. Going by the title, I doesn't seem like the NS scene will be dragged out in the long duration. So I now don't expect to see any drama build up. Now the question will we experienced a kissing scene being attempted by NaruSaku  :th_yeah:

she was there during that kitten ass NH wedding. People try to use her as a reason as to why NH is actually legitimate basically saying, she wasnt such a NS parallel after all. And she supports NH. Just because she looked like a mind controlled drone in the movie.

Lol.
