Just as I've been saying.^_^ And I do want to see if Aqua will take Kairi under her wing and further her training since she is her chosen successor. There's also the epilogue and secret ending to look forward to seeing later this week since they are coming out as free DLC updates on 30th and 31st.

As for the game, I'm staying off the internet for the next few days to avoid spoilers(due to a mishap with my pre-order, I won't get the game until Thursday).

kairi's always been important to the franchise i know she's gonna have an important role

I'm hearing it's a pretty good game overall. Yeah, it's got some problems (what game doesn't), but is no where near as bad as some people have been vocal about. I've heard some complaints about the story and plot points not being resolved, but this game isn't the last KH. Those plot points will probably come up in future titles.

Spoilery Rant

As you know, Kairi... well, like I said before she deserved better. But what about the other girls? Aqua felt nerfed compared to her other incarnations. When the whole group had their 1st final battle... Gosh! They did nothing! Just stand there hopelessly. Naminé? Doesn't appear until the ending cutscene! (Yeah, I know she had a small role in the Final Word, but she was just one of so many stars. I think Xion was the most rewarded girl, which is good for her fans, yet kinda unfair to the female crew. Especially Kairi and Naminé, who had a larger role in KH overall.

 

Some may agree, others disagree, but this game was... a bit lacking to me. Like Utada said, "what a bittersweet". Let's just hope they get something nice in the secret ending/epilogue

Certain game review sites are also misleading with their headlines about how this is "the end of Sora's saga" and "The last KH game is here" despite the fact that there are several interviews(particularly last year)with Nomura firmly stating that this was never going to be the last game and Sora would continue being the series' main protagonist for future titles.

Yeah, even if we get to play some sort of side story stuff where we play as other characters like we have in the past, it wouldn't be KH without Sora as the mc for the main stuff.

 I attribute the vocal disappointment and exaggerating the flaws of the game to the fact that fans were waiting thirteen years for it to finally come out and all that anxiety and excitement reached a breaking point and they came in with these super high expectations that couldn't be met at all. well that is my guess anyway I'll just take things in stride and see for myself.

 

On a side note work has been burning me out quite a bit so I think I'll hold off starting the game until the weekend

My thoughts: Good and Bad

I love the battles. The Keyblades changing, the comedy was funny. Sora, Donald and Goofy once again have great chemistry. I loved the Toy Story World but most importantly, Sora and Kairi shared the paopu fruit. I love the reunion between the old Keyblade trios and the Organization XIII trios. But most importantly I'm glad. this happened....



The bad is the ending.... It's not as bad as Naruto's but it does rub me the wrong way a little bit. I hated that Kairi got the shaft. She deserved better. I wasn't planning to play Kingdom Hearts IV but I will because I wanna see them reunite together. Maybe this time... they will kiss.

Seriously. The last KH console game (excluding 2.8) was 7 years ago (DDD);then we had KH X to tide us over and expand on the lore while we waited for KH3's release. If those fans choose not to count or play the spin offs, despite their overall relevance to the main plot, that's on them.

And it was obvious that there would be sequels. It's been kind of established that even with Xehanort dead, there's still the Master, Luxu, Maleficient and possibly Marluxia to deal with(especially given what KH Union X has revealed about him and Larxene). Well, my copy of the game is delivered today along with that DLC of the secret movie coming out. So, I'll be signing off for a couple of days.

You know...

You're right. Still I wish the ending was a little bit better, Like it feels like it's the last Kingdom Hearts game if you know what I mean and Sora has his happy ending with Kairi. It's still better than Naruto's ending, I'll tell you that.

And yet those games were just to either HYPE UP  the story of KH III or expand on and explain the story to lead up to KH III. They were not continuations of the story that fans wanted so it IS still technically waiting thirteen years for the plot to continue. It was the game's ending that fans were disappointed by and were vocal about correct? That is why. It was not like they were ragging on the game because they waited so long for a KH game in general to come out or that the gameplay sucked. They HATED that they waited thirteen years for the story to continue and then end in a way that they did not expect or want because they were going in with super high expectations of the continuation of KH's story as I've said. I'd surprised if anyone WAS complaining about the game play since  the core game mechanics are relatively the same

Don't see it as bad. See it as the set up for the next part which it is. We have known for a long time that KH3 wouldn't be the last game.

They said 3 would be the end of the Xehanort saga, not the end of KH.
