#990989 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

Kishi has a sakura keychain at his desk and spent a hour or more trying to make sakura look prettier i don't think she's in the story for no reason. Him and/or his team were probably going for something similar to what dragon quest did. Another person in the forum also pointed out how sakura and poala also have similarity and an identical timeskip and beet the vandal buster was done by the same writer/illustrator as adventure of dai. Heck the fact other series have copied ns proves there actually was something there

Honestly, I don't know how you guys can keep going. It's been nearly 10 years... a decade. Right on guys  :thumb:

Are we all ready for the 10th year anniversary of our ship's death Naruto ending? Are we going to get another interview? If so do you all think we going to get the "real" answer from Kishi's mouth now that Boruto manga has been developed to the point that the old pairing war will no longer harm the current serialized manga?

But I sure will missed guys like NSForLife and Rikudou here on H&E.

Hmm considering all the evidence pointing to ns being what was supposed to be endgame and all the ns references kishi put in the Minato one shot and the quality of the art it goes to show that kishi made a mistake. Even his wife apparently doesnt buy nh. Do i want a interview? Yeah but even without one it's clear. I'm a naruto fan not a fan of boruto and if the people who made naruto are not happy why should i be? Same goes for how i feel about star wars right now

There was a naruto album released called naruto symphonic experience. I highly recommend it. The songs are from a live performance and i also saw some clips on youtube of it

Sakura has been voted 1st for strongest female character by Japan fans

interesting the description says naruto's been in love with her since the academy. this must come as a shock to certain fans that are in denial

From what I recall reading it over a decade ago. Rudy introduction was she was inspired by Bulma introduction. 'She was a girl going around looking for O-Parts for I think money she may have been looking for the legendary O-Part Satan, while she could somewhat handle herself. However, she was still a girl so she decides to partner up with this strange yet strong boy as her bodyguard.' I think she also discovered Jio was Satan due to being attack by some thug but decided to stick by him because she felt they were friends by that point. Causing Jio to fall for her.

Sakura was introduced as, 'the pretty girl Naruto had a crush on that had a crush on another boy. Then he complimented her while transformed as Sasuke causing her to fall in love with Sasuke. Finally due to that misunderstanding she insulted orphans in front of Sasuke, causing Sasuke to dislike her, causing her to realize she was a brat, and she should try to improve herself by being nicer to Naruto.' Also she was at least competent as she was able to pass the exam Naruto failed and became a member on his team to balance out his poor stats.

The problem from what I recall with 666 Satan was that while it had some good moments it was too derivative. I also don't recall any of its arcs really being that well written or memorable compared to say the Wave arc or the chunin exam in Naruto.

666 Satan was, "good but you could see why it was cancelled," from what I recall.

It was good but there wasn't as detailed a story as naruto's perhaps less worldbuilding. If you read the rosario+vampire manga it felt a bit like that as though something is missing

It's bizarre that bitter fangirls would be hinata fans but maybe I'm missing something

a friend of mine actually read the one shot even though he was a stark fan of boruto he conceded the author didn't make the story he wanted by going with ns... it goes to show that kishimoto putting his heart into something meant more than boruto's quantity>quality approach

seems kishimoto put a lot of similarity between sakura and kushina into his creation of the minato one shot. I have seen a lot of different opinions about sakura and some probably prefer her to hinata since during the pandemic a lot of people watched naruto for the first time and sakura being 2nd place in north america and first in south as well as third place worldwide in the poll result must have convinced kishimoto she wasn't as unpopular as he thought

It literally has nothing to do with Japanese culture, considering that the Japanese fans were just as baffled and pissed by both the result and his reasoning.  He himself derided the pairings as toxic or done out of pity (in Hinata's case).  It was his dumbass attempt at covering SP and WJS's asses for them because he couldn't just say that "My editors and the animation studio in charge of the production of my manga's adaptation have been gaslighting me about the alleged popularity of this minor character that I barely care about and kept coercing me for years to replace Sakura because they have a bizarre fetish towards her, and wouldn't leave me alone to craft the story as I intended.  Also, they took advantage of the fact that my father just passed so that I would be more emotionally susceptible to their needling."

I mean think about it: when SP asked kishi to do a filler arc in the war he came up with that ninja asking sakura out and him asking if the guy she likes was a great person (and you see sakura having this unsure expression). I really think he was attempting to show naruto fans that sakura loving sasuke wasn't a good thing. also he spent the rest of the war arc having sakura have a fake smile when she was around sasuke to the point where sai noticed it and on top of that had the part where karin and sakura went and saved sasuke and naruto respectively and of course the toxic behavior and rejection sasuke gave sakura

Again, I just want to point out that the message Sakura gave in the Last was. "Women are incapable of moving on from their first crush." Also, "Naruto never had any feeling towards anyone until Hinata, and should never have any feeling towards anyone but Hinata; except the children they have together." Now then, remember that the movie was not the work of Kishimoto, but SP, and there is only so much that can be done with a red pen.

Both of these are complete opposite of what is even shown in chapter three. Naruto has feeling for Sakura, and the story of Sakura was a girl moving on from her first crush Sasuke to a guy that loves her Naruto.

Also in, Sakura's false confession she uses the concept of, "women's' feeling changing like the seasons," to explain why she was over Sasuke and in love with Naruto. This is clearly a phrase know and used by the Japanese, so the concept of women moving on from their first crush isn't a foreign concept to them either.

not even sp's normal writer they hired some romance tv person who knew nothing about naruto :laughcry:

Oda also said Masashi liked people like Sakura and he thought she was similar when he met her in real life. I've also heard Nami has some basis on Oda's wife irl but it's true it could be some fanservice since we don't have firsthand evidence. Kishi did write several versions of sakura (rin, tsunade, kushina) and complained in a interview people told him they didn't like sakura so he spent hours drawing a cover or something trying to improve her appearance. apart from Masashi seeming to prefer sakura (more than hinata) seeing as he has a sakura keychain at his drawing desk also his twin brother who's manga seem to have a lot of similarity with his brother's manga also have elements of ns. Masashi also said his wife helped write kushina and minato's story so it seems she was involved in some way (he also married her as he was working on naruto i can't see how she would have no knowledge of what he was doing)

And Kishimotos wife was disappointed Naruto ended up with Hinata. Then Kishimoto his wife felt better when he said Hinata was based off of her.

It makes no sense when even Minato even said Sakura resembles Kushina. But no, Kishis explanation was that narusaku moments were just a red herring.

Well he tried to make her feel better which didn't work 😂

I think naruto is in a similar situation as star wars right now but i don't know how either series will end up. There are some fans who support the star wars sequels but many don't
