I will have to admit, I did laugh a little at the last scene of the preview. Where Gai and Kakashi are sailing through the air in slow motion. For some reason, the Kakashi pose just cracked me up.

I feel like pierot is just trying to create a bit of comedy and relaxation before the cannon story goes directly into another serious arc. If this war arc really is the last, this may be the last real chance the anime can do some serious comedy and filler. Plus, we've just been through a pretty serious arc so I guess I can take a feel episodes of comedy as long as it's not to ridiculous and contradicting to the story.

I liked this one. It's always interested me to see the other villages and how they react to what's happening around them and also to explore the different villages' relationships with eachother.
As for next week, well as naruto-z already pointed out, maybe pierot just want to even out the angst/comedy factor a bit before going back to the canon storyline. As long as it doesn't involve more "Gai/Lee over the top action!!!". Seriously, I have nothing against either Gai or Lee, but I feel like their antics gets blown waaaaaay out of proportion when left exclusively in the hands of the anime team. It could also be that it's just been too long since I first watched the filler episodes, or it could just be that I've happily suppressed those memories.
Oh and one thing I've always wondered is: How come the Raikage residence looks so much...cooler than the Hokage residence? I mean it has fancy furniture and a penthouse view and everything. But maybe that was intentional to show the difference between Kumo and Konoha. Where Kumo is more concerned about military strength and power whereas Konaha relies more on peace.
