Then you can give up. I just don't want to. You're asking me how we can fight...well, for starters we don't just give in and say "there is nothing we can do about it." There is alot we can do about it and many things have changed due to fans bringing an outcry. Mass Effect 3, Evangelion, and so many more anime have gone throught rewrites, reboots, and canon redoes based on popular support.

It's not impossible, but when we start to give up and everyone just "falls in line." Then it really would be impossible.

That's the irony of it all. Saying it is impossible is what makes it impossible. it can be done, but enough fans and a loud enough voice needs to happen.

I'm willing to fight as well though, I'm not into writing large essays but I'm not too shy to let someone hear my voice.

Let me know when where and what I have to shout and the message will be delivered ^^.

 

Seriously though if you need help let me know. Not sure what you'd do though.

Start an online petition? that's been done so much that I cringe at the immaturity of it (but I would still sign though).

I know! The scene with Kushina is probably one of my top 5 from the whole series, and to render it nothing more than a ruse is spiteful and mean spirited.

Its undoubtedly the most emotional scene in this series.

 

Kishimoto really shines when he writes emotional scenes. Kushina and Minato's death scenes in the manga and in RtN, Naruto saying goodbye to his parents in RtN, Naruto saying goodbye to Minato in the recent chapters...

 

Those scenes are done so beautifully. Its why I find it so hard to believe when Kishimoto says he used family bonds just to troll pairing fans. It doesn't make sense coming from him.

It's just a shame because that Naruto was such an awesome character. He was determined, he was cheerful, he was everything you could want from a main character. Now? Now he doesn't even look like the Naruto we came to love.

Because its not naruto, kishi replaced ours because ours wouldnt agree to love hinahime ours would chase sakura, so he replaced ours with someone else an named him naruto but hes not, hes nothing like ours

Side note though - I really disliked the ending of HIMYM. I don't hate Ted/Robin, I just
felt that it was sad that the mother had to.. you know. I mean Ted was looking for her all this
time, and only got 11 years with her? Ouch. If I were him I would be reluctant to get into another
relationship any time soon... that must hurt really bad.

But we didn't saw Naruto doing that, they just switched him with some other personality. And I had difficult feelings about ending, from one point - it's sad for mother, but it's makes sense to whole story with Ted and Robin and what they had before. If you didn't like ending - search for "alternative ending for HIMYM", official alternative ending for last episode of show, you will like it.

I have no idea why but this comparison with Naruto pre-699 to 699 and up reminds me of comparison with Lorax to Lorax the movie. One delivered a powerful message, the other insults the original.

At this point, anything we do means we are continuing to support an author that pretty much singled out our fandom explicitly and told us to go kitten ourselves. I, for one, refuse to do that so i won't be reading or supporting any of SP's or Kishimoto's works in the future let alone Bolt and Salads stupid shoujo-to-be. I'm only posting here still because I like the community but I will no longer be spending time or energy on any of these works.

Even if Kishimoto offers a retcon it's still a blatant cash grab. Bioware offered the Mass Effect 3 ending DLC to fans FOR FREE because they admitted the kittened up. I don't see Kishimoto or SP admitting they messed up and offering a FREE retcon. The best we'll get is an alternate "non-canon" ending that people have to pay for.

I sort of agree with you. But even if Kishimoto does buckle to the pressure and gives us an alternate ending, will you truly be satisfied..? Will all these disappointments be forgotten..? Will all the pain really go away..?

Fighting is fine and as you said its needef. But before that we have to organize.

A first step for us would be to talk and ally with japanese fans


And another thing. We have to stop. Stop being pairing fans and become story fans. Naruto fans. We can say that we care about the story but in neutral eyes we are pairing fans

I already stopped being a pairing fan long before I shipped NS. The whole reason why I liked NS was because of the story. So that is already done. However, you act like pairings fans are not true fans and that is wrong. Sure, there are pairings fans who only cared for the pairings, but this isn't everyone. Some can be both pairings fans AND still follow the story and enjoy it regardless of their OTP.

I think this is the first mistakes people make alot. The only way to truly understand the story is to NOT be a pairing fan? That seems rather jaded to think. Besides, people are already saying that if you hate this ending it is because your an NS fan. NH and SS fans will always say I am a salty pairing regardless, but I am not trying to impress them. I am trying to fight for the better ending. Not this lame duck of a pairing fantasy.
