I'm also surprised that they actually found someone that did research instead of the usual online rando they pick up to write their "articles".

I always did find that to be BS and quite the double standard

And it isn't even about changed feelings. In Naruto's case,  he supposedly "fell" for Hinata out of guilt and warped sense of obligation for not acknowledging her obsessive feelings for him.  And if the following novels leading to Boruto are canonically approved by Kishimoto,  Sasuke was essentially stalked and harassed by Sakura at every juncture until he broke down, signed a marriage certificate, screwed her, then left as soon as he could.

Hey guys, hope you’re doing well. Just had a quick question regarding a fanfic I think could have been deleted, was hoping you guys could help. It just came to me last night and it’s bothering me lol. Don’t have the name of the fic or the author (obviously), but I remember the plot. Essentially, Naruto and Sakura are married and have a kid together, but Sasuke is dead (Naruto tried and failed to bring him back). It’s either once a year or once every full moon or something, but Sasuke’s “ghost” haunts Naruto while he’s asleep because he can’t let it go, and Sakura has to pick up the kid and watch as it happens because she can’t do anything else. Iirc she pleads with his ghost to leave Naruto alone and he does, can’t really remember how it ends. Does that sound familiar to anyone else? It’s killing me lol.

I think this is what you're looking for? https://www.fanficti...8308113/1/Yurei

It's really infuriating when someone uses Naruto as a scapegoat to justify their "Shonen shouldn't have romance" bias.  Just because some authors couldn't competently write a convincing resolution to their romantic subplot does not mean it shouldn't be included, or that it can't be done well.  Dragon Quest: Dai's Adventure, Beet the Vandel Buster, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha, Slam Dunk, World's Strongest Disciple:Kenichi, Detective Conan, Fullmetal Alchemist, Noragami, Blue Exorcist, Mission: Yozakura Family, Love Hina, Rave Master, Fairy Tail, Seven Deadly Sins, Nisekoi, Rosario + Vampire, Undead Unluck, MHA, Black Clover, and heck even Dragon Ball, handles romance reasonably well. And those are just the ones off the top of my head.

I think the only fans still defending Sakura are SS people. But in gaiden, she comes to her daughter's aide and runs up to hug her. Sasuke is also there and they haven't talked to eachother in 12 years. It's not a romantic reunion, lol. If you ever wonder whether he magically fell in love with her Kishi shoves that answer in our faces.

And in Boruto while I don't consider it Kishi's work, Sakura never hugs Sasuke, but they sometimes have trio hug with their daughter. Salad is between them, they look like a divorced couple co-parenting.. Sakura isn't as obsessed with Sasuke as shippuden, and neither is Naruto. Sakura does other detestable things such as covering up Taka's photo with her own. She also trie to get a kiss or hug from Sasuke and gets all  when he acts like she doesn't exist. This is all in gaiden, 100% Kishi's work.

Hinata, in the Boruto movie when some enemy invaded and both Naruto and Boruto was inside, she said Naruto's name only. Whenever both return from a dangerous mission, she hugs Naruto first. I'm not sure if she hugs Boruto after. This all makes me wonder if Kishi really endorses NH. I think he loathes SS and expressed much resentment in gaiden. NH, not sure, he did come up with the scarf idea because his wife made him a scarf once.

And about the last part, I think Hinata's character was also killed. She may have had a purpose long ago. Whatever it was all her flaws were erased to mold her into a perfect love interest. There's nothing wrong with a glow-up but it's obvious she was made 10x more gorgeous to be worthy as the love interest. She didn't have much personality to begin with, but Kishi took that away and in the blank period she's just a doll. Then in Boruto, she's scary? lol. Boruto is scared of her. SP transforms Hinata into whatever is needed of her. Because Naruto isn't the strict parent, someone has to become Sakura.

In this sequel, the only ones that gets to shine are Naruto and Sasuke. They often lose so Boruto can save the day, but I mean they get arcs and screentime. Sakura and Hinata are usually at home, mothering etc, while S&N are on the battlefield. I say usually, because once in a while we see Sakura in a hospital.

Considering that Kishimoto has said that he does not understand Hinata's appeal, stated that NaruHina is a couple that was created out of "pity", and illustrates Naruto as a negligent husband and father towards his family(even rejecting Hinata's bento, which is considered quite offensive in the culture of Japanese couples), among other things?  No, I doubt he endorses NaruHina. The fact that he was relatively locked out of the Last during its production speaks for itself(and in the novelization, where he had more creative control and had Naruto admit that the basis of his newfound feelings for Hinata was due to guilt, also indicates his opinion on the couple). And Hinata's concern for her children's welfare is non-existent in the movie.  She even told Boruto to take care of her husband for her(yeah, have your son "protect" your husband, who is a demi-god; great parenting, Hinata), and pretty much told him (after he rightfully called his father out and reduced her to tears) that his grievances with his distant father were irrelevant because "Naruto-kun suffered more" and should get a pass for his lack of domestic presence. She prioritized him over her children more than once in the movie.

And for all the criticism towards SS in Boruto, we at least see them interact in the manga. Naruto and Hinata barely share a panel together, let alone meaningful dialogue.  If anything, Kishimoto has gone out of his way - within reason - to express how dysfunctional both main couples are without outright saying it, especially since we know that they were not what he intended for the series.  He only "endorses" NaruHina in interviews to cover his ass since we know he can't just tell people that it only happened due to editorial interference from WSJ and Shueisha since that would get him blacklisted.

So, after playing the absolute hell out of Tales of Arise,  I come out of it with three new canon ships representing different facets of the NaruSaku relationship:

Alphen x Shionne

Law x Rinwell

Dohalim x Kisara

More than this though I want to see Noelle's next power up so as to not fall behind Asta and Yuno

Actually, I want to see more of her Saint Valkyrie Stage power-up before she moves on to the next since she hasn't mastered it yet.

I cant wait to see their wedding in the credits myself lol and yeah apparently Rinwell and Law are heavily implied to have it bad for eachother but they disguise it in arguments and pressing each other's buttons :D Kisara and Dohalim were fine with their Bodyguard and master relationship. If something was there I half expected it but like I said their actual dynamic is fine

in the final act of the game, there's an implication that Kisara and Dohalim are becoming something more when she starts using his nickname(with everyone reacting with shock and wondering what happened between them), but it's left ambiguous. And yeah, Law actually was about to confess to Rinwell at one point, but he chickened out at the last minute.

I remember, I just don't think that that was a factor to the arguments that it was pure physical attraction to Hinata back then. At least I hope it's not :ermm:  But anyway, are they attracted to Hinata? Sure. But that doesn't explain their fanatical behaviour towards her when there were plenty of attractive females in the cast. Just saying

Because they empathize with the sympathetic aspects of her character such as her shy nature, low self-esteem, and her issues with her father and conflate them to ridiculous proportions.

Oh yes definitely. But what are the answers/excuses from Hinata's hierophants? :hehehe:

From the way they act, Naruto is not even a character. He is Hinata's prize for all of "her simping", and don't act like it's not true. :zaru:

No one will ever deny that.  Heck, It's been pointed out that recent stories involving Hinata are becoming increasingly more inclined towards harem, with Naruto being turned into a cuckold because he's apparently not good enough for her anymore. Or as "revenge" for him being a workaholic who doesn't spend time with his "lovely, devoted" wife as he "should". And these writers still identify as NaruHina.  Naruto's always been passively objectified as a "prize" by the NaruHina and/or treated as an expy by the male Hinata fans.

Don't be silly. There's also the bewbs and ~hot bod~.  :fu:

Hell, Kishimoto believed that all of the fan appeal with Hinata was her boobs when talking about her in an interview.  Recently, one of my friends, who was a loyal Hinata supporter, has given up the ghost and stopped defending Hinata because he acknowledged that she never became this badass warrior woman/perfect complement to Naruto that he envisioned her to be after the Last. It took him reading/watching Boruto for him to realize that Hinata is nothing but an empty vessel whose sole characteristic is being endlessly devoted to Naruto, at the expense of everyone else(since she doesn't even give a damn about raising her kids or being a good sister to Hanabi).

Lol, I bet SP have a rule that no one is allowed to kill Hinata off in the Manga, hell I bet SP have a statue of Hinata made of Gold.

If such a clause actually existed, then that would actually indicate that they hate Hinata. After all, that would be a fate worse than death for her If her beloved "N-Naruto-kun~" ever kicks the bucket in the future and she couldn't join him in death lol.

hopes

On another topic that makes me ecstatic is that I read that in an older interview that apparently Tabata duly notes that his fans like it when he incorporates romantic moments in chapters lol Not sure if he will make it a reoccurring formula but hey that is a huge step up form that disappointing kitten storm Naruto has become.I think it was 2018 or 2019 and am not good at telling if it is a reliable source so I won't try to get everyone's hopes too up lol

I think Chapter 301 is gonna make you quite happy then.  No hug, but we get something that's quite significant and indicates that we will see some serious Asta x Noelle development in the near future.

But they haven't paid enough for it. Kishimoto took most of the brunt of it, but I don't give a lot of the blame to him since he was done with the series, and grieving over his dad dying.

I put it on his asinine editors and Studio Pierrot and Shueisha, for doing what they did to lead us down this path.

That's generally where my personal stance is when it comes to Masashi Kishimoto.  Kishimoto bares a good degree of fault for the current state of the series, but I'd be a prick to ignore the fact that he was in mourning during the final stages of Naruto over his father while constantly harassed by meddling television executives, editors and even overseas fans over a moe doll that even he derided.  I just wish he'd stop trying to cover his and Studio Pierrot's ass by making claims that "NaruHina was always planned." I mean, he had no problem badmouthing SasuSaku as toxic and openly suggesting that they'd divorce in the future, and its popularity is on the same scale as NaruHina or NaruSaku.
