Been a long time since I've posted a new thread in the Ichiraku Ramen Bar, and this is a series I've been following since Day 1.  It's a manga series written by Sui Ishida the mangaka of, one of my all time top 5 best modern manga, Tokyo Ghoul.

Choujin X is a story about humans with supernatural powers which are often the cause of surrounding destruction. While on their way back home, Tokio and Azuma encounter a choujin who threatens to kill them and have little to no chance of survival or escape from the threat ahead of them. In order to ensure their survival to live Tokio and Azuma make a gambling decision: Become a Choujin.

I will say that if you love  Sui Ishida's writing style from Tokio Ghoul then you are definitely going to love Choujin X. There are various elements while reading each chapter that you can tell has Ishida's fingerprints all over it which is truly amazing. If you love characters like Ken Kaneki, Touka Kirishima,  Hinami Fueguchi, Amon, Shuu Tsukiyama, Renji,  Akira Mado, etc. then you are going to fall in love with the characters like  Tokio, Azuma, and especially Elly.

Currently there are 34 chapters out for this series, and one of the many benefits I love about this is that Sui Ishida is releasing the chapters based on his own schedule.  There are no higher ups telling him that a chapter has to come out on a weekly, monthly, or bi-weekly basis. This can be considered as a huge turn off from people checking out Choujin X because there is no consistency on when a chapter a will come out.

Some times he'll even release a chapter into segments like:

Chapter #?? . Part 1

Chapter #?? Part 2

Best way I'd keep my tabs on it is to check through MangaPlus as they are consistently updating their readers each time a chapter officially comes out, and that could also be said for Choujin X.  Check there anytime you get the chance and you'll see if a chapter has been updated.

So far in 2023 for the month of January  Sui Ishida release has been:

01/05/23 -  Chapter 34. 1

(5 day gap)

01/10/23  - Chapter 34. 2

( 7 day gap)

01/17/23 - Chapter 34. 3

(9 day gap)

01/26/ 23 - Chapter 34. 4

That's what I mean by the schedule can be unpredictable for when a chapter comes out. It can just happen at any point time through the day or week.

The longest I've seen Sui Ishida take a break from Choujin X is like 2 months < - that's been a consistent pattern I've noticed.

Here is where you can read all the chapters that are currently out: https://ww5.manganel...89022/chapter-1

and I will be sure to update anytime Sui Ishida releases a chapter.

Have you guys checked out Choujin X?  or is this the first time you're hearing about it?
