Well, damn. Kishi got right into it.

 

I kind of expected no wake up scene simply because Kishi has been playing with our expectations. It's all good though.

 

Holy kitten at the damage Gai did to Madara. Practically wrecked the dude! 

 

Am I disappointed for no wake up scene? Yeah.

 

But...for what it's worth, at least Kishi didn't drag it out.

Okay, bummer we didn't get an NS moment, but how da hell did he keep Gai from dying? Also the way he kicked Madara's ball was pretty bad ass. Pretty neat his eyes are once again a cross between Nine-tails and sage mode.

Wow, Gai's attack not only almost killed Madara, but shattered all the bones in his leg. He looks like Brand from LoL. He is going to feel alot of pain when he wakes up.

Kakashi is so adorable when he was a kid too....with his tiny mask...wait, he covered his face then too? lol. Okay, that is too funny.

well... There were some people who predicted that Kishi would skip straight to the action, and they were right, unfortunately. Great...

Sakumo was cute! Kakashi seemed so adult-like even when he was a little child, haha. Gai is badass, I like how Madara was all, "hahaha.. You almost killed me... Bastard!" He acknowledged him! I knew all along that Naruto would save Gai at the last second... sigh.

So, the sun and moon imagery we saw earlier with Indra and Ashura is coming up once again. Now in their palms... I wonder what Naruto and Sasuke's new powers will be. Can't say I'm all too interested, though. Apparently Naruto can revive people now. Greeaaat.

Well, I wonder what will become of Sakura now. That's all I care about right now tbh.

The chapter was okay... nothing impressive, nothing horrible. Typical no wake up scene's for either guy, but hey... well I got nothing :)

Well...

I don't think Kishi really pass out the wake up scene, it was maybe not you guys expected it, but there was another parallel between NS and SK, he placed Karin and Sakura at the same position towards Sasuke and Naruto, and Kabuto and Obito too. And the way tha wake up was depicted fitted perfectly with the rush of the events with Gai. It was logical that there wasn't a long and big NS moment, Gai's "death" was more important, don't you think?

And, then can I say that this chapter was really short? At the end, I was like "Is that all?" I couldn't believe it.

We didn't see Karin and Sasuke interaction either. You'd think we get one, but I have to wonder if the actual reactions will be saved for later. First they were both on the ground and now all of a sudden they are standing up? There is a scene missing there. I have to wonder if Kishi is saving it till another time because that was pretty quick to just jump huge leaps like that.

Oh well well, now since the anger is vented out... I'll still be waiting for an NS moment. I just don't know how much we've to wait, but we don't have bloody choice, do we? All in all Gai was great! Simply great! Acknowledged by Madara and Kakashi acknowledging that he has become stronger than him. Naruto saving Gai, as I had thought. Though I still feel bad for we didn't get an NS moment.

When I saw this Spoiler 672 I am thinking after Madara is done with Gai, Naruto arrives saving the day, so I believe that Kishi will skip a potencial NS moment.

He could actually, but I think of this on a writer's stand point. Think of all the stuff that we knew was obvious and yet never really confirmed until much later like how the 4th Hokage is Naruto's father. We knew this to be true long before it was actually said on panel all because of a writer's trick.

I can see Kishi wanting to save that scene for later to...let's say...see how a certain female or females feel about that certain boy they have been looking after?

This is especially true if you want to keep everything even till the end and it's really interesting to think about other stuff that Kishi already knew and was pretty obvious from the beginning and yet never revealed it til a certain point in the story to build up dramatic effect.

It might be nothing, but it could be a possibility. I wouldn't put it past him to do something like that.

Hell, it might even be revealed next chapter for all we know. There are many possibilities and many situations where Naruto kind of shows up out of nowhere and it is not really explained until after he shows up, how they got to that point.

Hey hang on! I think there's more to the manga today. The moment Madara said 'He twisted space and time' I think that's when Naruto came in from the Kamui. As far as I remember they(Obito, Sakura and Naruto), should've all arrived at once. But Naruto has arrived already. And the fact that Obito and Sakura are not shown yet, could it be that, one of Naruto's new abilities is he can move between the dimesions as freely as he wants? And also we saw that '+' mark in his eyes, but no chakra cloak or anything. What does this signify? All the bijuu's chakra has been blended within Naruto's chakra? As in have they become one?

There's currently a battle being waged that will decide the fate of the world. Naruto and Sasuke cutting the sentimental reunions short is the practical decision to make since they're desperately needed at the moment.

Guy's final attack was incredible. Considering how much of the chapter it took up, it was undoubtedly the meat and potatoes of this chapter - witnessing Guy in his final hour as he severely dismembers Madara and leaves the world in a fantastic manner (his body is literally ashing as he breathes his last breaths). At least, that was the intention before Naruto stole the scene and began applying his deus ex machina of a power-up which will likely revive Guy and/or offset the negative effects of the 8th gate.

 

What is it that Naruto was given? He's in KSM yet the pigmentation that normally appears around his eyes is missing. Kishi might have had another artistic lapse though like when he included Shukaku in the group of bijuu that had given their chakra to Naruto many chapters back. My best guess is that it's some sort of Yang oriented chakra which he's capable of distributing into others in order to enliven substance (or resuscitate in this scenario).

 

The most noticeable detail that I carried away from this chapter is Madara's regeneration after losing almost half of his face and chest. I'm wondering whether it's a by-product of being the Jubi jinchuuriki or if it's Hashirama's restorative senjutsu abilities at work.

Well...

Yup, it was disappointing to see that Kishi completely skipped the reactions to Naruto and Sasuke waking up.  You can see Sakura looks relieved and happy, but where's the thank-you from Naruto for saving his life?

 

That said, the action scenes were really cool, and my prediction of Naruto saving Gai's life came true.  Overall, it was a good chapter, it just felt too short.

Well, I'll say this elation in power won't last; only until after Madara is defeated.

 

I wonder how the story will go now.  Madara looks spent.  I mean sure, he can still probably fight, but look at him.  Gai really did a number on him.  Can he really instant regenerate back to full health like that?  If not, the biggest problem won't be from Madara, but from Sasuke.

Now that you say it, this solution has a high potential of actually happening. It's true that when the hero comes out of nowhere to save the day, what has previously happened is usually explained. So who knows, you maybe right.
