#964057 SHOKUGEKI NO SOMA

The ship is setting sail!! :woot:  I repeat, the ship is setting sail!! :boogie:  And more important than that, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!! :eager:

[post='http://www.mangainn....i-no-soma/259/1'][/post]

I so agree! This chapter got me really hype!!!!!! :th_yeah:

007.png

This smile, THIS SMILE! It was so gentle, and a smile that I've only seen once when Alice and Erina were playing with each other as little kids a long time ago. It's important to note that the author chose to show a panel of Alice and Hisako reacting to Erina's smile, the girls closest to Erina. Their reaction is proof that Erina has changed and found happiness again thanks to Soma.

Putting my shipping feels aside, this was a marvelous chapter. Senzaemon knows that Erina is able to bring out 100% in every type of dish she makes, but nothing really stands out. She needs to go beyond 100% to create her specialty that is only possible through her God's tongue. However, as this chapter has made clear, she also needs to be willing to take a risk, which I don't think she has ever done before. I absolutely love the passion Erina was drawn with while she tried to create something in a short amount of time. Speaking of time, 10 minutes, seriously? To make it a bit more believable, it should have been at least 20 min if you asked me. It's hard for me to believe to create a complete new dish in such a short amount of time.

OOH I look forward to this one!!!! :D

It was a good episode. Mei-Lin is really mature for her age.

I appreciate the anime a lot b/c it delves further into Shaoran's background. We get to find out that his family was totally against him moving to Japan, but he really wanted to be together with Sakura (my OTP, duh).

Btw, chapter 22 just came out. It looks like Kaito will the strongest antagonist the series has seen so far. I liked the conversation b/w Sakura's dad and Toya. Her father has known from the start that something was up Sakura, but he chose to never mention anything. And Sakura, yes girl, make Shaoran spill his teas.

What happened to Shinee is jarringly similar to the suicide of Linkin Park's lead singer Chester Bennington mid-2017. Both Linkin Park and Shinee were immensely popular during the 2000s in their respective countries. Both lead singers had depression and both committed suicide for comparable reasons.

Linkin Park still went on with their live performances after that, honoring Chester, so I think that's the road Shinee will take for now. Maybe both will go on hiatus after? Change their band names? Split? Everyone handles these things differently, so we'll just have to wait

Right with TVXQ & JYJ. EXO also lost members and doing great to this day. But the sudden death of someone has a vastly different impact than people just leaving imo. Still, they could bounce back with a new song even, but thinking about it is so hard when something so tragic happened like that :( ...

I believe that Onew didn't mean harm in any intentional way, and his friends apologized for his actions as well. Still, he should keep his hands to himself next time, drunk or not. God damn it Onew.

While I have never really listened to Linkin Park, I've heard multiple times that Jonghyun's death was similar to Chester's. You're right, we will have to wait and see how SHINee will go forward from now on, but either way, I'll fully support them! They were one of the first KPop groups I got into, and after having wiggled my way through soooooooooo many groups, I still believe SHINee is one of the best KPop groups that has ever existed. Their discography was solid and experimental (at least after Lucifer; their earlier stuff did not age well), amazing choreography (Taemin duh), and have three solid vocalists.

SHINee has definitely passed that stage of being trendy, but they are doing just fine in terms of having a solid fanbase and doing constant tours in Japan.

Onew... *sigh* He was just too drunk and fell several times while unintentionally holding onto the woman dancing on the table. Like Super Junior's Kyuhyun has said: "He never learned to drink responsibly." I hope he's gotten to learn his limits better since that unfortunate incident.

Btw, Jonghyun's new MV and album will be released in a few days. If shipping wasn't so expensive, I would have ordered it T_T

Episode 2 is out in Hotanime. If your internet somehow slow I recommend to use Rapid mirror 360.

What do you think? Do they really want a 100% adaptation to the manga? Or do they want to kind bring back the classic Anime?

Well Wei is out and Meiling do you think is out? Or do you think we will her one day?

The staff did a wise decision by sort of fusion both the current manga and the plotline from the 90s anime. That way they won't alienate the anime-only watchers. Considering how this anime will be very episodic in its nature, I see them adding Meilin later just to fill in some plot.

Lmaooooo same!! I was bored but now that she appeard, everyone is hyped up xD

I feel like Erina is going against Momo for Megumi, also I enjoy that it is Soma that show interest in her than she does to him because its usually the girl over the guy that shows interest in the person whether romantically or not

It only took us 244 chapters to see Erina doing a full-fledged Shokugeki :th_yeah:

I also have a feeling Erina will revenge Megumi by full-out defeating Momo (who's been left in a bad mood since her battle against Megumi). It's gonna feel twice as good considering how disappointing the Megumi vs Momo fight was. And Momo better step up her game. I want to see some real Class A desserts, not those boring roses -_-

Soma is excited to see his future wife doing some cooking :hehehe:  I liked how he remembered the first time he met her.

Also, can I just mention thay Noelle must be one of the prettiest and hottest main character girls ever released in Shounen Jump (Nami lover AHK would kill me)? I'm absolutely in love with her character design, and she looks a lot prettier in anime form.

If you put a gun at me to make a comparison, I find Naruto more interesting at that point. Lets not downplay the best days of Naruto. Even one user tried to back in one podcast. I dont like the series but give credit where its due is part of my protocol.

Yeah, I agree. I thought part 1 of Naruto was great... There is a reason why Naruto became one of the most popular shounens ever. It had to be good at SOME point during its publication. And I definitely don't only say that out of nostalgia.
Black Clover is just average to me. The one thing it does well though is pacing. Arcs are quick and progress well (looking at you Shokugeki no Soma), so I agree with phantom in that aspect.

I think Asta's voice is already a given, but the only grip with the episode I have is that it took us 7 episodes to get to this point, and man I think SP handled it well for the most part.  Especially the small minute to minute and a half scene with Yuno in the beginning.  Since it's just introduction stuff I don't have much to complain about... the only real fear I have is when we get the first mission are we still gonna be stuck with this pacing?

Other than that the episode itself was good in terms of content, but again so far pacing is kind of my concern.

Link to episode 7: http://blackcloveran...isode-7-subbed/

In this day and age, there is honestly no reason for any shounen anime-or ANY anime- to have fillers or freakishly slow pacing unless we're talking about the One Piece anime. Not sure what Studio Pierrot is thinking. I wanna check out the anime, but I will wait until we have more episodes so that more chapters have been covered.

#954275 Advice to Masashi Kishimoto and His Next Manga

Posted by trang95 on 08 November 2017 - 07:37 AM

!!! The following refers solely to the manga content and not the anime as I am aware the anime has added addifional episodes to rectify this problem (I think)!!!

Hmmm, I personally would advise him to stick to only ONE major THOROUGHLY developed antagonist in the very final arc (excluding Sasuke b/c we all knew it would end with a Naruto vs Sasuke fight). Yes, Kagura was alluded to 200 chapters or so before, but her actual entrance into the story just came too late, and was quite frankly also very comical, though not intended by Kishimoto. While given a short but eye-opening backstory, Kagura's personality could have been fleshed out better. She was honestly one of the most boring and forced villains I've ever seen. All this combined just created a very unexciting villain in my eyes.

Yeah I know, I was just busting your chops lol

The raw used “suki” which is a non-specific was of saying you like someone, nothing romantic about it inherently. Here’s a post that breaks it down: http://pxiao.tumblr....e-way-hide-says

I’m just tired of fan wars in general. Fandoms have a tendency to ruin stories, I think. Just look at Naruto and how unbearable thd fanbases were, and in turn how unbearable to story was. The TG fandom really isn’t that great I’ve noticed. Between that fanbase and then all the people that kitten on Kaneki for no reason, it can get annoying.

Lol I know, right? I don’t know why people try and force him to be.

You took my joke about Tsukiyama too seriously, duh U_U Can't even joke about Tsukiyama's obsession in front of you, you Touka worshiper.

I read the explanation. Thanks, I understand better now. A lot of people reacted way too defensively about Hide's form of love though before the clarifications of the actual "suki" meaning. Theoretically speaking, even if Hide was in love with Kaneki, it's not like HideKane will ever happen. It's literally impossible with Kaneki being married to Touka. But there's nothing wrong with Hide theoretically being in love with Kaneki b/c we never really saw Hide's point of view that much. That is, I just wouldn't be too surprised about Hide actually being in love with Kaneki. I honestly think this is just both fandoms (HideKane and Touken) being way too anxious about each other than the actual story itself. Shipping wars are cancer.

I'm just glad that Hide's alive and trying to save his best friend. He and Akira are probably the only humans Kaneki genuinely still cares about.

One of my coworkers asked if I shipped Gon with anyone?

and I jokingly answered, "Killua cause he acts like a total tsundere around him."

In all seriousness I'm in the midst of watching the phantom troop arc and holy sh it that was crazy stil got like 4 episodes to go before greed island, and then I believe The Chimera Ant Arc which is the most talked about it if i'm correct?

Still Kurapika I got more respect for him then I thought i did initially.

LuckyChi!!!!!!

The Phantom Troup Arc is one of the best arcs of this series! The Phantom Troup members are like a much cooler version of Akatsuki if you ask me, lol. Greed Island is more chill and sort of another training arc. You'll get to meet their cute mentor. Once you start the Chimera Ant Arc, I'd love to discuss things with you more! Next to the Phantom Troupe arc, the Chimera Ant Arc is one of my favorite shounen arcs ever. Those two arcs (and the current one in the manga) have cemented HxH as one of my favorite shounen mangas (and anime in general cause Madhouse went all in despite 148 episodes).

Souma can't lose...because he is the main character. He has to be in the final battle of this arc.

Takumi, his opponent is being too much a kitten that to see him lose despite his little trickery or even it being thrown in his face helping his opponent win is too satisfying for it not to happen.

Megumi like harry said if she doesn't win she will do well enough that Momo will recognize her.

When the day comes where he'll actually loose in a 1 one 1 battle (not counting in his dad), I hope he'll get defeated by Erina. There has to be someone who will remain better than him until the end of the series.

Yes, it's what it is. A man who doesn't care much of his family and a woman who is stuck with her feelings for a non-caring man and has to deal alone with the hardships of her family.

SS is interesting for Family Healthcare and Family Child Care associations.

Imao, dead XD
