You know it's funny cuz that works way better in canon than for SasuSaku.
For one, it was a brotherly gesture between Sasuke and his brother and given that these two were always put in this light.
And second, when they're at the valley of the end, Sasuke tells Naruto that he won't be able to even scratch his forehead if they fight.
So I think it would've been a nice touch if we'd have a forehead poke from Sasuke to Naruto, and a lot more in character for Sasuke given what he's been through and the message it's meant to convey. And also what he told to Naruto.
That he still has his own thing to figure out, but Naruto will always be there with him, in his mind and heart.
The same as it happened with Itachi and Sasuke. Itachi kept Sasuke at a distance with that gesture because he had his own demons to battle with (the whole Konoha thing and whatnot), but at the same time he always had Sasuke in the back of his mind and in his heart.
So yeah, I think that the forehead poke would've been perfect between Naruto and Sasuke tbh.
Sasuke was basically telling Sakura-Chan, no hard feelings, right BRO? Or in short, go kitten yourself, there will never be anything romantic between us. 699 would have been much better if Sasuke rejected her again before leaving, while Naruto was watching. Then naturally, she would cry, and Naruto being Naruto who hated seeing her cry, would try to cheer her up. She would cry into his jacket.
She would open up to him and ask Naruto how Sasuke could reject her over and over again after that day on the bench. After saying those words to her. Then Naruto would take the opportunity and recite it word for word for her before kissing her forehead. She would then go wide-eyed with a huge blush through Naruto's whole confession. Before crying a fresh wave of happy tears. She would realize she loved Naruto all along, they would kiss. The end.
It got better ways for it to be pulled off, but I would have been happy if it was done this way, since Kishimoto obviously was going to have her confessing to Sasuke until the end.
Side Note- I think one redeeming factor Sasuke could have done when he placed Sakura-Chan in the genjutsu was reveal to what really happened that day. Like show her Naruto transforming into Sasuke, and she could realize what truly happened, or something like that. I personally would have liked it if he did that for Naruto. And he seemed like a good one to do it after he told Sakura-Chan about Naruto risking his life for her. Yeah, he was jealous at Naruto's power, but I felt like maybe he was trying to do a solid for Naruto as well.
