They don't react because they see the author work for his 15 years instead of kittening about 2 missed chapters( yeah, they're awesome like that) . SS make no sense, no matter where you come from. The story never hint that Sasuke care at all.

Plus there is no relationship. Sasuke and sakura were never in a relationship. So there goes the culture side to it.

Again if sasuke and sakura were in a relationship you could say that she was hoping to get the old sasuke back that loved her. But he never loved her. Plus kakashi said she doesn't want him, she just wants to save him.

It's sad that bleach did a better job at accepting ships.

Did bleach have any potential soon-to-be canon pair? I haven't read bleach since Aizen Arc, I shipped Ichiruki, but I know the chance is almost impossible to happen since Ichigo never show any romances feeling for any females in Bleach.

Some suspicions have been IchiRuki as well as IchiHime, though the latter has had a bit more steam than IchiRuki since when you think about it, there's more of a possibility for it to be realistic. Plus Rukia has Renji in her life and he obviously has feelings for her and some vice versa.

I like ichiruki too. I am just saying that it could go either way, I would be happy.

Bleach did better with the ships than naruto if SS/nh end game. I have accepted ss/nh, but it does not sit well with me.

I don't think bleach will end with pairs, it's better.

Only IchiHime has a chance, IMO. We don't see romantic feelings being clearly portrayed on anyone other than Inoue. She is the only one who has a confession in the series too.

I definitely won't pay to see it, but I may watch it anyway depending on how the plot goes. No SS at all would be one requirement for me to watch it.

i don't see it happening. i ship ichihime, but i like ichiruki too. kubo handles the romance in his story so much better than kishi. orihime's confession was so touching and deep, especially the part about loving him five lifetimes. while hinata's confession felt like it was used for shock value.

I love Orihime's confession. To me always: Orihime > Hinata.

Not at all, since Kubo didn't really give romance as much attention as Kishimoto did. Bleach is more about friendship. Besides, Orihime isn't a bland pairing fodder character like Hinata, so it's not like people would be too upset about an IH outcome.

 

Well, I wouldn't, and I do prefer IchiRuki.

That view on SS just seriously bothers me. It's not even much of a cultural difference either. SS is more popular than NS here in the West too. The whole "Bad boy/Good girl" trope is so overused in our media and shoved in our faces over "nice, reliable, normal guy winning over girl" that it's really no wonder SasuSaku's the top pairing. 

 

Hell, I don't even have anything against the trope. I ship Buffy/Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer just as much NS and it's the same trope of SasuSaku. It has angst, bad boy crap with a dark past, enduring love through distance, pain, and is even the same first love shtick. But what always made that ship better in my eyes is that it otherwise has everything SS lacks: a real relationship, mutual love and respect, the girl plays an immense role in his redemption and still influences him when he makes bad decisions, and despite everything the girl doesn't put up with his BS and sets him straight when she has to and holds him accountable. It's a couple with strong-willed characters that was actually well-executed.

 

SasuSaku has the pain and the angst, but that's all. It doesn't even meet one of those marks I just listed to be a satisfactory "bad boy/good girl" couple from a storytelling POV. Sure, angst and pain might spice things up, make you sympathize and root for it, but how is it good when only one party gets the brunt of the abuse and pain throughout the entire series? Why doesn't the guy suffer too, show that's he affected and doesn't constantly humiliate her? Or better yet, why don't you have some actual good between them thrown in and not last-second?

 

This is what I hate about SS. It's not mutual or well-balanced at all. It shouldn't be canon. Sakura can never even stand up to Sasuke. She's like a battered wife who's afraid to even argue with him and never holds him accountable for his own choices. And to see Sakura reduced to such a submissive, subservient role which isn't like her at all just disgusts me.

 

The problem with SS is that it is too much abuse and not enough acknowledgement. Not enough mutuality. Top it off with a lack of basis, a girl unable to stand up for herself against him, and guy who's never influenced by her efforts on his redemption journey, and you have a sh*tty example of a "bad boy/bad girl" couple. Screw whatever the hell Kishi's assistant or SS shippers say otherwise.
