From what I've heard Akira Toriyama will play a much bigger role with Super then he did with GT. With GT I think he just did some character designs and then he walked off, but I'm not sure on that. With super I read that he is indeed working on it so I wouldn't worrying about it being anything like GT.

 

Oh I didn't know about this, I'm more at ease now certainly, knowing AKira will have a bigger involvement

Just hope the new series doesn't focus only on the saiyan characters

Did you heard about the new DB series that's came to TV in July?

 

The name will be Dragon Ball Chou (Dragon Ball Super) and it will follow the the aftermathof the buu arc and probably the movies

 

 

I just hope they don't screw up like they did with GT

I was watching a review of Saint Seiya  Soul of Gold and heard the reviewer that DB Super will have 100 episodes, but this is not official I just heard. The reviewers  even say that Toei love more DB than Saint Seiya  for this number of episodes I have to admit that hurt me, but well DB is more popular.

It's not like they love DB more...it's just that it brings them more money

 

I just hope Toei can provide some quality animation for the new DB series...

I hope  for you guys too. For now that rumor of 100 episodes sounds good if that happens DB will be free from the two weeks treatment.

So psyched to see this movie in August! 

 

I noticed there's no Dragon Ball Super thread so I'll just post thoughts on the new series in here. I have a lot of trepidation about where they can go with DBS. I loved DBZ but the formula of 'We thought this villain was the strongest, but oh no there's someone who is stronger. Now in order to win we must surpass what was said to be the pinnacle of our race's power,' was played out in said series. 

 

All the information we have seems to show that this picks up right after Buu, but didn't Battle of the Gods pick up right after Buu? Or does it take place between the series and the movie? Either way, I don't know what the plot could be apart from that. GT may have been a disappointment, but story-wise (at least the first half in a return to DB from DBZ) it was the only thing they could really do to make it different from Z (until Baby). If it takes place after Resurrection of F, I don't need to see a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan 2 or 3. Anyone else?
