VOTING (SECOND WEEK):
CLOSED!

CREWS:
STRIKERS ALL-STARS
STRIKERS ALL-STARS
Tallahassee, Florida

Tallie "Ace" Brinson III (24)
Otheus "O" Manuel (25)
Peterson Thelisma (23)
Edwin "Bowling Ball" Bennett (25)
Michael "Money Mike" Washington (24)
Welton Maurice Nance (23)
Joel Daley (20)

Established in 1989 at Florida A&M University, Strikers All-Stars’ motto is, “If you can survive being a Striker, you can survive anything.” It's beyond notable that most of the members of this crew chose to attend FAMU in order join this famous stepping family because The Strikers aren’t merely a dance crew; they are a legacy.

This crew -- an elite seven-man unit comprised of the FAMU Strikers' strongest performers -- has won competitions on BET's 106 & Park and won over the notoriously fickle Showtime at the Apollo audience. They are, in short, considered one of the top stepping crews in the South.

"Many people think it's all the same," Ace says of stepping. "but we have created this style that is mimicked by numerous dance crews." That style comes from all seven members contributing to The Strikers' choreography and adding a freestyle hip-hop element to the more widely known precision elements. "We're unpredictable, full of energy," says Peterson. Adds Money Mike: "Our urban soul matched with our energy -- it can get ridiculously crazy!"

To that point, the crew lists a lot of hip-hop on among musical favorites, including OutKast, Flo Rida, T Pain, T.I., Rick Ross, Jay Z, Timbaland and Swizz Beats, along with some contemporary pop from the likes of John Legend, Chris Brown and Justin Timberlake.

"In a way, we have played through our season and we're about to play in the Super Bowl -- America's Best Dance Crew," says Bowling Ball. "Our advantage is that everybody on our team is a Pro Bowl-er."

BEAT FREAKS
Los Angeles, California

Lindsey, aka. "Out There" (28)
Teresa Espinosa ("legal")
Keely "Lockn'Key" Kaukimoce ("over 18)
Maryss From Paris ("over 18")
Lady Jules (??)
B-Girl Shorty (19)
Rino (??)

A hip-hop dance dream team, the ladies of Beat Freaks have won too many awards to count and have been featured on numerous television shows, as well as in music videos and tours with the likes of Pink, Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus and Madonna, as well as in movies like You Got Served and Step Up 2.

"We are an all styles crew, so we teach each other" says Out There. Adds Lockn'Key, "This is a well-rounded group of women. We have B- girling, freestyle, hip-hop, popping, locking, house salsa, jazz, ballet, you name it." Plus, says Rina, "We love to laugh and to have fun."

With wide ranging credits and styles, it's not surprising to see a range of music fueling their favorites. The Beat Freaks go for everything from Hot Chip, M.I.A., Santogold and CSS to OutKast, T.I., Aaliyah and Missy Elliottt to Prince, Zapp and James Brown.

Why do the Beat Freaks think they'll take the prize on this season of America's Best Dance Crew? "I think America is ready to see a strong, powerful group of young women who are passionate about what they do," says Lockn'Key. Adds Teresa, "Because we are well-rounded, professional, funky, fun and the best!"

QUEST CREW

QUEST CREW
Los Angeles, California

Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval (23)
Hok (24)
Ryanimay Conferido (25)
Feng (26)
Steve Terada (24)
Brian Hirano (26)
Victor Kim (22)

A group of friends who were pretty much spending all of their time together anyway, the members of Quest are fun and entertaining. Each has substantial professional dance experience, performing on television shows like So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol to touring with the likes of Gloria Estefan and Sheila E.

Claiming that dance "lets me express my life through movement," Hok says he's motivated by "beauty, intricate minds, art, philosophy and nature," as well as "weird creatures." But Feng and others note that it's the members of the crew continually push each other. Perhaps Ryanimay sums up Quest's overall motivation in describing the crew as people who do what they love with no expectation of reward."

Packed with sick tricks, the members of Quest believe that they bring something special to the America's Best Dance Crew stage. Steve cites moves like a "triple flash kick," "T-Pike flash" and his own signature "Terada Grab" as part of the crew's arsenal of unique, acrobatic flips and tricks.

With a preference for moving to the likes of James Brown, Busta Rhymes, Prince, Boyz II Men and Black Sheep, the members of Quest prefer their beats old school, although at least one member confesses moving to the futuristic sound of Daft Punk is among his favorites.

"Win or lose, we just want to be memorable and inspirational," says D- Trix. Adds Hok, "We will do what we think will entertain America the most. If the result follows, I will be happy with it!"

FLY KHICKS
FLY KHICKS
Miami, Florida

Traci Young (29)
Michelle Burgos (20)
Wendy Simmons (27)
Christina Pagan (19)
Kare'lix Alicea (28)
Gina Francis (27)

Miami's Fly Khicks crew is made up of six spunky women, all originally hailing from different countries. What they've got in common is that they are all former dancers for the NBA's Miami Heat. After winning the professional basketball league's Most Popular Dance Team title for three consecutive years, these girls realized they wanted more and formed the Fly Khicks.

"Our moves are big and up-tempo, but also smooth and sassy," says crew leader Traci. Indeed, the crew can do it all -- jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, African, Latin and more. "Our style of dance is very in your face," adds Christina.

And the Fly Khicks aren't afraid to push boundaries when they put it out on the floor. "We are very versatile," says Michelle. "We will give you technique, hard, strong movements, tricks ... everything!" And, owing to their name, "the one thing you will always see," according to Gina, "is us showing off our 'Fly Khicks.'"

The Fly Khicks crew likes to move to Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Beyonce, Missy Elliott, Trick Daddy, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, M.I.A., Janet Jackson, and "anything with heavy bass," says Kare'lix.

"We exemplify confidence while embedding humility," Traci says when talking about Fly Khicks' chances in the America's Best Dance Crew competitions. Adds Wendy: "We constantly challenge each other to be better, so to see a girl crew bring it so hard will put us above the rest."

RINGMASTERS
RINGMASTERS
Brooklyn, New York

Adedamah “Nugget” Orisagbemi (25)
Reggie “O.G. Pauz” Gilmore (26)
Marty McFly (24)
Punchline King (23)
Spyda (21)
Slick (21)
Corey "Gutta Love" Batts (25)

Ringmasters offers a style America's Best Dance Crew hasn't seen before: flexing and contortionism. They claim to be the “best in Brooklyn," putting on a show filled with props, theatrics and magic tricks.

Friends since high school, the members of the crew have never taken a single dance class and pride themselves on being straight from the streets, preferring to battle on corners or in any open space they can get their feet on. And with moves like "bone breaking," "pauzing" and "glytching," it's no wonder they've won competitions all over New York City, including one hosted by BET's 106 & Park.

"I enjoy dancing because that's the only thing that make me feel alive," says Ringmasters leader Nugget. "It's like, when a beat come on, I can't help myself. I become more than a dancer. I feel super-human."

With music from Kanye West, Beyonce, Kardinal Offishal, T.I., Rihanna, Evanescence, The Game and Lil Wayne propelling their favorite moves, Ringmasters likes to move to the sounds of the street, but aren't afraid to mix it up a bit to keep audiences on their toes.

In considering their chances of coming out on top of this season's America's Best Dance Crew competition, the members of Ringmasters think they've got what it takes. "We're bringing a style to the world no one has but Brooklyn," says O.G. Pauz. "It's uniqueness and creativity will take us above and beyond." Adds Spyda, "It's non-stop, jaw-dropping, explosive entertainment."

DYNAMIC EDITION
DYNAMIC EDITION
Springville, Alabama

Brandon Norris (23, choreographer)
Kaitlin Allison (18)
Melissa Shores (29)
Cara Petrunich (21)
Beth Petrunich (23)

Based in Alabama, Dynamic Edition has held the Clogging Champions of America title for seven years running. But despite their success, they have longed to escape their small town digs for something bigger and brighter. Brandon took it upon himself to make this dream a reality; he decided to open his own dance studio called Dynamic Dance where he organized three competitive teams. Picking the best from each team he formed Dynamic Edition. This crew has pushed the limits in the clogging world by incorporating hip-hop into their routines.

"I love all kinds of dancing," the crew's Kaitlin says, "from street, hip-hop and jazz to clogging." And while clogging might be historically associated to "old-timey" music, that's far from what's influencing Dynamic Edition. The members of the crew cite the music of everyone from Kanye West, Missy Elliott and Michael Jackson to AC/DC, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears as providing their favorite songs to move their feet.

Brandon, who also has seven national solo titles to his credit, also has some television experience, having previously performed on a finale episode of the Fox series So You Think You Can Dance. Now he says he's ready to enter the competition of a lifetime, leading Dynamic Edition through the paces in Hollywood on America's Best Dance Crew.

As for his crew's unique skills, he believes that clogging will give Dynamic Edition an edge. "We can do hip-hop as well as clogging, which is something no other crew has," he says with confidence. "I think our confidence will shine through and help us win over America."

TEAM MILLENNIA
Fullerton, California

Jed "Jeddy Boy" Florano (23, co-artistic director)
Jun Quemado (24, co-artistic director)
Alexis Avila (24)
Kristine "Wobz" Bueta (23)
Jeff Viray (25)
J. Lim (23)
Chantha "Chance" Mao (23)

Team Millennia has been going strong for more than a decade. The crew, which holds annual auditions, was founded by Danny Batimana, who handpicked the seven members to compete on America's Best Dance Crew, all of whom have been dancing together for about four years. Jun says they "grew into a family with a strong bond."

The crew is based at is own studio, Under the Bridge, where in addition to housing their fevered rehearsals, the organization holds workshops to serve youth and their community. It's also the home of the many trophies Team Millennia has scored over the years, as they've placed in the top three in more than 20 competitions, including Battlefest, Fusion and World of Dance.

"Influence comes from everywhere," says Jeddy Boy. "You can make everything relate to dance."

Everything from Aaliyah, Ginuwine and Timbaland to Ne-Yo, Usher, Janet Jackson and Rihanna comes up when you ask Team Millennia members to list their favorite dance music. "I like anything I can groove to," says Wobz, while Jun says, "I don't really have a favorite song or artist. I enjoy anything that has a beat!"

The crew auditioned for America's Best Dance Crew last time around, but didn't make the cut. That experience is driving some members this time around. "Everything happens for a reason and to be able to come back for a second try makes me believe we have something to prove and show the world," says Jeff of their chances this season. Adds Alexis. "We have the heart, the talent and the drive to take us to the top."

BOXCUTTUHZ (ELIMINATED)
BIO (WEST COAST) --Click here to view--
BOXCUTTUHZ
San Diego, California

Lando Wilkins (25, choreographer)
Juice (22)
Lydia Pack (18)
Brian "Bam" Martin (20)
Rocko (22)
Jaffar (28)
Aris Jefferson (24)

Each Boxcuttuhz member has danced along side many notable dance crews such as: Quest, Unity La, GRV, America's Best Dance Crew alums Jabbawockeez and Funkanometry.

Lando met the rest of the Boxcuttuhz through the dance community over the last few years. He assembled the crew, his “family," to perform shows and has worked with them to create a world-class team. Although each member contributes moves to the choreography, it's Lando who is the beating heart of this crew. "Lando moves like an ALIEN!" Juice says. "He's not from here!" Pocko agrees: "His moves are indescribable!"

Boxcuttuhz cite M.I.A., Cool Kids, Bjork, Kardinal Offishal, Janet Jackson, Missy Elliottt and Ludacris among their favorites to dance to, and Lando says he won't musically pigeonhole the group. "Unless I revert back to the 'gangstaness' and get gritty with some 'ol hood fun, I love the old school funk beats, house R&B and alternative music," he says.

All of the members of Boxcuttuhz are convinced they'll be the crew that walks away with the America's Best Dance Crew title this time around, but their confidence shouldn't be confused with cockiness. "We're not on the show to compete for the position of first place as the other teams would think," says Lando. "Our goal is to reach for the hearts and votes of America while giving them something to remember."

G.O.P. DANCE (ELIMINATED)

BIO (CARIBBEAN) --Click here to view--
G.O.P.
San Juan, Puerto Rico

Pedro "Mr. P" Aviles (28, choreographer)
Sherhan "Crazy Lie" Rodriguez (24)
B-Boy Crash (25)
Michael "Av Caribbean Heat" Aviles (25)
Daleth Valle Cuadrado, aka. "B-Boy Smoke" (26)
Luis "Kano" Perez (24)

Founded by Mr. P more than 15 years ago, G.O.P. was born on the streets of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and has had more than 4,800 dancers in its ranks through its history. Mr. P handpicked his five partners to join him on America's Best Dance Crew to represent G.O.P.

In addition to showcasing and performing throughout the year, G..O.P. has established its own competition, G.O.P D’ Connection. Since 2004, hundreds of dancers have come from all over Puerto Rico to compete.

Combining the funk school, breakdance, reggaeton and Latin flavors, G.O.P. has created a signature style. "The Latin flavor is incomparable," says B-Boy Smoke. "Latinos put their heart into dancing."

Despite that obviously heavy Latin influence on their moves, the crew's musical tastes lean decidedly hip-hop and pop, with G.O.P. members citing Tupac, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Usher and Missy Elliott among their favorite soundmakers, along with Don Omar, Wisin y Yandel and Daddy Yankee.

Why does G.O.P. expect to win this season's America's Best Dance Crew crown? "That's simple," says Kano, confidently. "Becaue we are the most complete crew that's been on the show. And because we want it so bad that we will take our hearts of our chests and give them to the fans, judges and the entire world."
