Intention does not mean good story telling. Game of thrones writers an intended alot of content for the show's last seson to subvert expectations and for many it was one of the worst seasons and endings on television.

I and many others here don't care what kishimoto intended when he made the ending the way that he did, it was bad and awful especially for sakura's character.

Which leads to my next point. Any self respecting sakura fan should not just accept the way how sasusaku became canon. It was bad writing, a problematic relationship that is toxic along be a bad message to young girls about romance and not to mention it destoryed her reputation among the fandom at large and resulted in her reduced role as heroine.

You will probably find that in any franchise that fans will not accept or like certain stories just because their favourite characters are in it. I like spider-man for example and I hated how he was portrayed in the comicbook version of the civil war storyline.

I don't care how popular sasusaku and naruhina were in the west you should not make important story decisions solely based on popularity if it dies not fit the narrative you set up. It like when marvel includes wolverine in every x-men story even the ones that he doesn't really need to be in.

Also this is a narusaku website meaning that we are going to like narusaku content be it official or fanon. We are not going to like sasusaku content, given how many if not all of us hate that relationship for the reasosns I stated above.

We might like or even tolerate crack or fanon sakura relationship like sakuino, leesaku or even shikasaku. The only way I can possibly see any of us tolerating a post ending sakura story if there is no involvement of sasuke and sasusaku, but that not going happen anytime soon.

So as long as we get nothing but sasusaku content we are etheir going to not read it at all or if we do not going to like it and critise the work. Mostly because nothing post ending has addressed the problematic issue we have had with the relationship and in some cases made it worse.

I mean I get wanting more sakura content, but I rather something I am going to like. This sasusaku fanfiction that has been made into manga is not something I will not enjoy and would rather talk about other sakura realted things.

MangaPlus published the chapter earlier. Original date also was 2/12. They realized their Mistake and removed.

I'm a Sakura Fan. But i don't mind SS, NS, Ino or Tsunade as long Sakura is doing something.   Although I prefer originally preferred NS. It's been 8 years since the ship sunken.
Also I'm simply don't deny SS popularity and some development the pairing had from Part 1. C'mon guys the pairing popularity, thousends of fanarts, fics and their fans don't come from nowhere or Kage Summit arc.

Also the most interesting thing in the chapter isn't the SS scene
But the Tsunade mention and finally some Tsunade/Sakura relationship as a Master and Student.
I know who much sensitive some NS fans are here and put spoiler Tag from SS...

For Sakura and SS. I like Sakura as a character, but I don't like the pairing. The story of Naruto was showing how bad they were for each other, how it based on lies and misunderstandings as well as abuse. The backstory of Boruto is, Sasuke was so indifferent to Sakura and the daughter they had together he didn't bother to see them for 12 years, and even made a meeting point for Naruto just to make sure he never saw them. That's not a healthy relationship. I don't mind you liking it but you come off -and I hoped I was already making clear- that you wanted us to embrace it as well. I don't want to. So, stop. Talking about it is fine, but curb you enthusiasm.

As for anything about the story, I will see it tomorrow.

Lets assume this was Kishimoto's intention. Do you think this is good writing and why?

For a manga that doesn't focus on romance and pairing development, he sure spent a significant amount of time on it with respect to the pairing that did not happen. He can do whatever wants; it's his manga. But my issue is (and always will be) good and bad writing. Pairings/relationships are utterly meaningless; the question should always be how something enhances the quality of the story. I would submit to you that NS fits the themes and respective character arcs of the original 700 chapter manga better than any other pairing. As for karin, she comes across as someone solely created for the sake of being in Sasuke's new team/posse. Whether they got together would not have affected the story, but I can see potential sequel scenarios it would have helped.

Since you're simply a Sakura fan, let me ask you a question: If a new Sakura focused side manga came out and the manga exclusively consisted of Sakura dating Orochimaru, Sakura gaining significant amounts of weight and Sakura getting a sex change, would you be happy about the new content simply on the basis that it was new Sakura content?

It is a weird consumerism belief now a days were people are suppose to support product no matter what, like an abuse victim or an addict. Look at Star Wars fans, it made pretty clear that Kennedy hates what Star Wars is and what's to change it to its very core. But, show some fans a half decent show and they forget that and proclaim that star wars is back. When instead it just becomes a justification for more of her kitten. Once she destroyed the movies that nearly killed it as a franchise, but then Mandolorian came out was well received. But, now Star Wars is a TV-streaming franchise producing Kenndey's shows. Hell, a new Indiana Jones movie is coming out and the story is there is a dial of time that will allow a Woman to travel back in time so Indiana will die, so she can replace him. They are expecting people to go see it because they have no respect for them.

Its better to walk away from a franchise than to continue to support it. If they make something that appeals to you at least wait or be cautious before fully embracing it. Because, is it them truly changing or is it just appeasement?

As for Kishimoto's intention for SS and how it relates to this manga and the light novel it was based on. SS was a pairing of the spares for him. He was told for years the fans wanted nH. He gave it to them and made SS happen because it put Sakura somewhere once she was no longer the heroine, and they did know SS had fans. So, it would augment the money they would get from that supposedly large nH international fanbase. The light novel was made as just drivel to get some money from SS fans. While the manga was a check to see if SS was really popular, are other parts of the Naruto franchise popular, and is it just nH/Boruto that are unpopular?

Can only speak for myself, but had no issue with your posting. Any vitriol I would have I would direct at the manga publisher for reminding me that Naruto exists while I'm trying to live my best life.

Live, this manga will be done in a couple of weeks anyways. But, enjoy that thought in your head that this and the other one are doing better than Boruto the manga built on the pairing that said Sakura wasn't good enough to be the love interest or heroine.

My stance on it is I see nothing wrong with reading it if you like Sakura as a character and genuinely enjoy it. My question is though how long will she stay relevant to this plot? my guess is she won't pop up that much. I didn't read the novel so correct me if I'm wrong but the track records speak for themselves usually. If Sakura actually has any plot relevancy and  shows her stuff as a medic and the like, great! I probably still won't read it but I'd be happy at least. The SS moments only bother me me because of how artificial and forced  they are. Sakura's moments with Sasuke, to me whenever I see them thus far is more akin to a smitten teenage girl on her first date rather than a wife interacting with her husband whom she married for over a decade. It's not natural and looks more like behavior of her 12-13 year old self. If that's all they have going for them, color me NOT impressed. I'm not actually saying this out of dislike for SS, but show me another couple in manga/ anime or any other fictional media that acts like this if they were married for any significant amount of time if it's not played as a joke. And last time I checked such moments were reciprocal too if they happened. I don't feel these moments are romantic, it feels like the story is FORCING THE ISSUE that these two are in love and married and are ramming it down the viewers throats. that's the impression I get, and I'm not interested in that forced BS.

On another note, I would like to read it for the Sakura moments as well but unfortunately the Sakura Haruno that I loved and followed for over 10 years of my life was character assassinated over 8 years ago and I'm no longer motivated to follow this new version that is just used as a "satellite love interest" for the "cool delicious bad boy" Sasuke Uchiha and to kitten out a childhood friend for Boruto to interact with. And so far, correct me if I'm wrong, but are there moments that actually make you go "HELL YEAH!!" like when she cured Kankuro from his poisoning which was stated to be near impossible btw or when she fought Sasori with Chiyo mostly providing support and counter tactics or when she one-punched Pain's Centipede summon to rescue that little girl? Because I don't see it so far. IF you are reading for moments like that, then call me SEVERELY DISAPPOINTED thus far. I'd like to see more moments like those, and if not provided, I don't necessarily see what all the hype is to see more of Sakura for mediocre shipping moments and a tiny reminding nudge that she is part of the ninja medical corps. One of the best obviously but still, TOLD NOT SHOWN as far as I'm concerned

Kishimoto didn't want to show any glimpse of Sasuke's feelings for Sakura  before Sasuke x Naruto since this could ruin the most expected manga battle. i'm surprised he did the 685 chapter with Sasuke catching Sakura.
Probably he tried to drag out all the big Three pairings (SS/NS/NH) fans until the very end of the Story. Maybe this explain why SasuSaku was resolved literally in the last chapter.

Sasuke was always a key factor in this love triangle.
If Sasuke loved Sakura back, SasuSaku is pretty much official, NaruSaku is dead and Naruto is free to have Hinata as his second Prize.

If Sasuke refused Sakura and helped she to see her true feelings.   Most likely Naruto will get his wishes fulfilled. After all Sakura is a better match for Naruto than Hinata.

Also this a Shounnen Battle Manga. Romance and pairing development aren't the focus. Kishimoto  thought the Forehead Poke  and NaruHina handholding scene was enough to show the couples without any doubting about the Boys feelings...

Anyway if Karin had at least half of SS/NH or Hinata popularity. I'm certain Kishimoto could had done NS/SK route. NS would hurt  two big fanbases while SS/NH only hurt NS.

I LOVE hearing this excuse because of how often I see it, it just makes me laugh if anything. *Ring ring ring* Rurouni Kenshin is calling. And that aside, fans that always argue this confuse lack of focus on romantic development for intent. Do most shonen series FOCUS on romance? No, but do they usually give a clear and concise indication of who the love interest IS and sprinkle little moments to show there IS attraction/ feelings for the MC whether one-sided or not to give the idea that they COULD become a couple? Happens all the time. And by the way, Naruto has no such as excuse because It was not like Dragon Ball where Goku never showed interest in any girl, Bulma included so he could hook up with any random girl he wanted and it wouldn't make a difference to the narrative. Naruto was clearly interested in Sakura from the start, Sakura started to eventually display similar behaviour to Naruto as she did with Sasuke, offering to feed him (ending in failure) giving him a hug in an emotionally intense moment and crying for him out of concern. And the excuse against them being a couple always is, for Naruto it's platonic. But for Sasuke, she is his true love/soulmate so those moments ARE ROMANTIC. See the double standard here?

P.S. I know I'm probably talking a wall as of now but I just want to give this out regardless

Well. Saw the SS moment in chapter 4. Sasuke gives Sakura a ring he made and she stares at it like a smitten teenage girl like Phantom said. When I'm talking about the story I'm talking about Boruto. But since Chie has taken a leave due to medical reason Sakura probably not going to be use often in the anime.

As for Sasuke I would used mandatory required affection showing for how he behaves. The problem is that we haven't seen him bond with Sakura like Naruto did with her. So him trusting her or having faith in her, or anything else feels off. We haven't seen the build up to this.

In the early stages of the manga it was there however small, but you can't say that at all in the later half of part I and definitely not AFTER the time skip. Almost none of their interactions were ever in a positive note and the part where Sasuke caught her when she was about to collapse can be treated as a moment of civility at best.

If I think of an overview of Sasuke's feeling towards Sakura. He probably hated the fact he was stuck with one of the random girls that used to fawn over him, but at least felt she was better than that idiot Naruto because she had good grades. Then, after the bench talk he thought she is an annoying spoiled brat that doesn't appreciate what she has. He also thought once he gotten to know Naruto more and respect him. That she wasn't doing enough compared to Naruto and that she was worse than Naruto despite initially being better than him. Eventually, with time spent on team 7 she became one of the few people Sasuke cared about which allowed her to help him suppress the curse seal when he looked into her terrified eyes. However, those feelings did not outweigh his desire for revenge nor did she understand him enough to keep their bond from severing at the end of part one like Naruto was able to.

After that she became an annoyance that he would kill without hesitation if she got in his way. Also as his before final battle rant said; he doesn't get what she actually likes about him because he has never showed her any affection, and think she delusional even living in a dream world if she think he would ever love her. Then, out of guilt, and to appease Naruto; he ended up with her.

The one time he ever said anything nice to her or about her. Was during the chunin exam because he could tell she was depressed, realized that he probably was going to work with her to pass the exam at some point, and so he needed to restore her confidence...which he originally destroyed in the first place.

The person that has complete faith in her and constantly praises her was Naruto. So the manga is awkwardly making Sasuke fill in the Naruto role in Sakura's relationship, just like Hinata has to be Sakura-like in Naruto's. Which again is because neither couple interacted that much in the manga so eventually they have to go back to a relationship that did NS.

The story was written years ago. It is an adaptation of a novel, why would they need to add a character not involved in the story? Its already a giant mess. Do they need to make it worse? Literally, all Hinata would be doing is staying next to Naruto's sick bed in the hospital thinking, "Naruto-kun." The fact that they are adapting this is because the nH fans are worthless, their barks are worse than their bite, because they just pirate instead of paying for anything.

...Wasn't there a Hinata light novel written/produced/released around the same time as the SS novel that boasted that she was as strong as all the kage and defeated her sister or something like that? They should be requesting WSJ be adapting that one next, but they aren't because they didn't buy it because they don't financially support the IP. Which is why they adapted SS and Asuma's daughter light novels instead.

They will always hate 'Sakura' because she represents women they hate. They are only 'happy' if she is always beneath 'Hinata.'

They don't bug Ikemoto because no one cares about Boruto, the son of Hinata.

They should be requesting WSJ be adapting that one next, but they aren't because they didn't buy it because they don't financially support the IP. Which is why they adapted SS and Asuma's daughter light novels instead.

It wasn't a Hinata light novel, but the family  day light novel that was adapted in the anime.  It was a collection of short stories that showed some characters spending time with their kids.

I actually read that one it had 4 stories

First one:  It was about Naruto and Himawari spending time together

Second:   Hinata spending time with Hanabi and her father

Third:  Chouji and Chouchou eating contest

Fourth:  Sasuke trying to be a father to Sarada

3 of those stories were adapted in the anime, but the Hinata short story was the only one that wasn't adapted in the anime.

Family Day was a part of the Naruto Shinden (2018) Series  which were 3:

1.  Naruto's Story: Family Day  < - (overall it was a decent read)

2.  Sasuke's Story: Star Pupil    < -  (I'm about to read that one)

3.  Shikamaru's Story:   Mourning Clouds (Gonna read it after Star pupil)

The shinden novels I own officially in pdf thanks to my best friend. The only physical copy I do own one for is Family Day cause like I stated before, I personally enjoyed it.

Don't worry, I have no intention of convincing everyone to read the shinden light novels.  Just wanted to share that I own them in pdfs,  and Family Day I own in physical form as far as the Shinden novel goes.

in case anyone asks,  I do own the Kakashi Hidan Novel and the Sasuke's Sunrise story... So if anyone would like some clarification on what the stories holl detail by detail then...     I'll build a seperate thread dedicated for the Naruto Light Novels...

Just a heads up it'll be based on the official release and not necessarily  the fan translations that came out years ago.

This particular Sasuke story: The Uchiha and Heavenly Stardust is based on the Retsudan series, and much like the 2018 Shinden novel series there are only 3 light novels:

Kakashi's Story: The Sixth Hokage & The Failed Prince (Pending on my reading list)

Sasuke's Story:  The Uchiha and Heavenly Stardust

Naruto's Story: Uzumaki Naruto & The Spiral Destiny

The real kicker here is that all the Retsuden Novels are all connected so it's one of those things where...

You gotta read the Kakashi Retsudan Novel, and then  Sasuke's Retsudan Novel before you read Naruto Retsudan.    If you just read one of the retsudan novels separately it's gonna be one of those things were you're like wait  what the hell??  That part doesn't make any sense, or what are they referencing to? type of situation"

The only thing I know for sure is that The Retsuden Novels are all written by the same writer Jun Esaka < - (the same author who did Sasuke Shinden: Star Pupil) .

So I'll get a chance to see how her writing style is compared to Mirei Miyamoto  who did the Family Day light novel, and like I said before... I'll fill you guys in on how it is in a thread I'll make shortly related to the official light novels that are out in English.

Well thank you for clarifying. Are you going to be doing summaries of those light novels in that topic you just made?

Again, the Hinata one was the only one they did not adapt because they know now, she doesn't sell.

As for the Sasuke manga story defense. I assure you, the complaints I have had so far are well within that story. I doubt the other two will solve them, else they would have been adapted along side it. Also kind of a problem if it takes three stories to make one work.

Listen whatever personal problems that are happening in your life right now. Doubling down on consumerism is not the answer.

Listen whatever personal problems that are happening in you life right now. Doubling down on consumerism is not the answer.

No problem,

when it comes to Hinata's short story, there's never really been a concrete answer to it.  I mean it was still weird the other light novels didn't get adapted either with Kakashi Hiden and Sakura Hiden.

When it comes to the thread I made.... I could definitely do summaries, but it'll be a more analytical breakdown of a light novel.

Take for example,  the Kakashi Hiden light novel, I just started that one yesterday. My approach for the summaries would be like a chapter by chapter summary.

To really get a sense of what's happening in that novel rather than leaving certain details out.

ex.

Kakashi's Story:  Lightening in The Frozen Sky -  Prologue

This story begins with...........................   (fill in the blank)  and that's how this part of the story ends.

it would be presented something like that, and if anyone has anything to say I could always clarify what was happening in said chapter of the light novel.   If that makes any sense...?

As for doubling down on consumerism, don't worry I'm very selective when it comes to stuff that I buy.  Personal problems in my life aside, I'm very good with saving my cash and only relying on a set amount for a few weeks. Usually, I just give myself a budget and be like... okay use it very sparingly.

But long story short on that, I'm not gonna go cash crazy with the light novels unless it really resonates with me.   I was just glad that I got the pdfs from my best friend who already had the digital copies of it.

That definitely does make my life easier on that front especially with where things are currently.

So  my approach is at night  I read like a chapter of Kakashi's Story before I head to bed, and  the Star Pupil novel... since that one is a pdf I've just got on my phone. So I could read it when I'm on break during work.

It's only gonna be just this one exception that I'm doing it for.

Everything else,  I'm just gonna take things nice and slow.

with that said,   Thank you so much Bail,  I appreciate you looking out for me

It is the implications the idea and writing of the relationship it brings that bothers me. if I were to look at an SS moment, it is not because it is SS that I'm upset, it is the fact that for every SS shipping moment, there is there is at least two or three moments that work against it and the fact that Sasuke had no interest in Sakura up until the end of Naruto and all of that accumulated to him blatantly telling Naruto that he has no idea why she was ever interested in him in the first place and called her feelings a childish fantasy in chapter 693 and after that display of toxicity, he 180's his character and *bam* they are married. Again, I have nothing personal against SS itself though. And if you find any actual new found appreciation for them I have nothing against that either. But the negativity of their relationship to BEFORE they were married will never be erased from my memory so I just have a hard time appreciating it as some others will, that said I mean no offence to you.

As for NaruHina fans Hinata's fans, I care not one bit of what they think and avoid their drivel at all costs because of the mind numbing idiocy I imagine it to be. They have not one ounce of logic to their reasoning to my experience, and most likely never will so I just don't bother

So I heard this story is gonna be adapted into the anime, and I can already imagine what it's gonna stir within pairing wars...  Just the same pointless utter drama that happens in the fandom when it comes to people's opinion.

Personally, I don't really care about the whole pairing aspect of it anymore.

My only issue about it being adapted into the anime now is the timeline in which it happens.... Now why is that a big deal?

So the premise of this story is that Naruto is suffering from a severe illness because he is a jinchuriki and Kurama was still inside of him.    Which means that this story takes place before he uses Baryon Mode and before Kurama's death.

The problem with it being adapted now is because we are past the point of Naruto using Baryon Mode and Kurama's death, and the only way it would make sense to tell this story is having either Sasuke, Naruto, or Sakura even reminisce about this particular storyline.

because otherwise it's like well...  Anime definitely messed that one up, but it wouldn't be the first time it happened too.

Example:

Sasuke's Story: Sunrise   in the timeline occurs sometime after The Wedding novel.

However in the anime,  Sunrise was the first story arc they tackled, and the wedding novel was saved for the ending of shippuden for... pretty obvious reasons.

The only they adapted in the correct chronology was Family Day which even then... they forgot to adapt one short story from that novel.

So while there is a lot of praise and excitement for SS fans... I wouldn't exactly hold my breath on it because SP hasn't exactly been great when it comes to adapting light novels... especially in the correct time.

yeah, Apparently the Anime is going to animating Retsuden manga.
Maybe this will be the announcement about the 20 years in this Saturday. Literally Retsuden puts Boruto manga in Shame. They will milk the retsuden as much they can with boruto's Failure.

Anyway isn't Chie Nakamura sick?
How they will do this?

The Date probably is fake.

Chie is definitely sick.... The only way the release date makes sense is if these episodes were recorded and done with months ago.

...I hate the ninja tech and the other modernizing advancements in the manga.

Anyways. Since the Baryon Mode/Suicide Nuke Mode is Chakra radiation. They can just say Naruto got chakra cancer from it to try to justify the change. Though I doubt they will think of that.

As for Chie, while the Japanese animation industry prefers to end a character if the VA dies, They will replace them if they have no choice due to the character being too important to the story, or temporarily replace them; often due to medical reasons. So, if Chie hasn't voice Sakura for the part, they probably gotten another VA for it, and she will get her role again once she comes back.

SS has already been what has been financially supporting Boruto for years now. The SS manga was a check to confirm, and once it was initially successful. They are going through with more SS focus media. So of course that will piss off the nH fans but won't matter because they don't pay for anything.

Ohhh Im loving this show. 😁

Just goes to show how Naruto should have just ended after the Manga finished, then again we wouldnt be having such a great show as Hinata fans and crazy women who mainly ship SS so they can pretend they are dating Sasuke.

I hope they keep tearing each other apart like this because it merely shows how damn toxic they are and how much they need mental help.

They are only supporting this manga because it's 100% Sasuke and Sakura material. Even old fans who never cared about the pairing are reading the Manga.

SS fans only cares about Sasuke,Sakura and Sarada. Uchiha Family  hardly has any focus in Boruto so they give ZERO support for Boruto story.
Also nH fans don't have any reason to support Boruto. Hinata and nH doesn't have any importance either. No wonder why Boruto is a flop. Ikemoto cant even please the few fanbases who are still alive.

Sasuke losing his Rinnegan just to be nerfed and Naruto losing Kurama is the last nail in the coffin
