I don't think the Olympics is going to be in Chicago, because they were already held in the US, so I really thing Chicago's out of question, though if it reall does turn out to be it, I won't exacly complain, because I don't think it's worth complaining.

I actually, think Chicago should get it to help with the economy. Since, it will bring in revenue for Chicago and the rest of the United states by bring Jobs to get ready for the Olympics.

Actually the opposite is true. Being the Host City for the Olympics is generally considered a curse:

Think I'd most like to see them going to Tokyo. Is that the otaku in me talking? America and Spain had them fairly recently (ie. in my lifetime, no comments about age please tongue.gif )

QUOTE (Sakura Blossoms @ Sep 27 2009, 02:21 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
No offense but seeing it on tv is nothing compared to actually being there live. You can always record the events on tv, and re-watch everything later. But to actually be there, to walk around with all the other fans, to see the athletes up close and personal, just to be a part of that general atmosphere. That's a once in a lifetime opportunity that watching it on a little square box doesn't even hold a candle to.

It would be cool for it to be held in Tokyo, but if it's in Chicago I could take my mother who is a HUGE fan of the Olympic Games happy.gif

Now I definitely got to get tickets for 2012... though I could probably see some of it without tickets.

Lucky you already live in the UK XD

Even though my mother lives in Jamaica and I now live in South Florida, she is planning on us going to the 2012 games in London, so we'll probably hopefully be able to stay with some relatives instead of having to pay for a hotel happy.gif

I wanted Rio to get it, considering South America has never had an Olympics, or at least that's what the paper said this morning.

I like to go out and party, but I do not like drinks served in a femvase (damn fruity stuff... ew), so good ol' beer is my mate. So yeah, I'm also a psychology student, so your mind interests me.

Winrar!

Free c@ke for Yaka.

To be perfectly honest, the summer Olympics doesn't really interest me that much. I love the Winter Olympics, and I was there more or less the entire time during the Winter Olympics of '94, which was held in my country... and the town I was born in. Lillehammer spent alot of money on the Olympics, and had a tough time in the first year or so after the games, but to be able to put up a sign with the words "Host of the Winter Olympics '94" is a good way to get tourists. wink.gif
I almost bought tickets to Vancouver for the 2010 games, but I knew I couldn't afford being away from school that long (or pay that much money damnit). I am going to Russia in 2014 though!
