I saw this earlier, now it wonder how this means for his powers and if it's got a weakness.

I haven't heard this theory that much, but what if the random women Eren saw was actually his real mom. The reason why I'm thinking is because he didn't recognize her as Mom he thought of Historia first, but then said no it isn't her. Then I looked closely at the eyes, and they're pretty indentical, same thing with Historia's eyes as well.

 

My thoughts/Predictions:

•  we've seen Historia's Mom and Eren's Mom before, but then I started thinking like what if their mothers were step mothers.
• Maybe Eren's father got together with Historia's mom and he got together with this random person.
• Eren and Historia are half-siblings.

I mean it's a stretch, but you never know with the way how the manga's been going. Plus each volume contains about 4-5 chapters. Plus so far this one seems to be focusing on Eren and Historia.

 

What do you guys think?

So, I'm on chapter 52 now, and I recall that before I started reading people were talking about Eren/Mikasa becoming canon in chapter 50, and I don't see where that happened. Out of curiosity, how is the pairing any more canon than it was before? Do I just not see it because I don't ship it?

I think the only canon love story here is YmirxHistoria. I'm fine with Mikasa and Eren the way they are, but he doesn't get angry when she tries to help him anymore. That was one of my problems. Another is that Mikasa is too hung up on Eren.

Yeah, I kind of think that too. I understand why she is that way, with all she's went through, but I feel her dependency borders on unhealthy, I think that's probably why the pairing doesn't particularly appeal to me. I'm not big on Ymir/Historia either, because yuri pairings just aren't my thing, none of the possible pairings in this manga really appeal to me, to be honest.

I really like Eremika. I also understand people think she clings onto him a lot but i think it isn't something unhealthy in her case considering everything she's been through, her age the current state of humanity and most importantly what eren has done for her. I think its very obvious she is romantically magnatized toward eren and i dont think anything other then erens death or her own will ever change this (Sorry Jean bro )

 

I expect the two of them to just merge together, seen as they've been "family" for so long and know each other very well. BRING ON HOUSEWAIFU EREN!!!

Oh no, her problem isn't any less unhealthy just because she has a reason for it. Besides, we can't even be sure they're going to survive. I don't think anyone in this series will get a rainbow ending with unicorns. Many will die, and the survivors will write the history and live on with their traumas and horrors.

Well mangaka was going to origionally have a super grim ending but due to anime's success hes going to change it.

 

I'm sure that either eren, armin or mikasa one of them will die. I'm leaning toward either Eren or Armin.

Am i the only one who didnt like this anime? Its mainstream and everyone loves so i decided to watch it and i dont like it. Sometimes i find myself thinking "god why is this taking so long, just get on with the plot already" I dont like the art but im not that interested in the art, and the soundtrack while not the best can be much worst. (and i had the displeasure of listening to a band try the opening theme once, that was just terrible in person) Ill continue to see if it gets better though and keep my hopes up.

The anime is over. I liked the anime, at least the beginning of it. The first half was perfect. The second half ruined Hanji's character and made her into a psycothic comic relief, the Levi fanservice was overwhelming. They even switched Hanji's badass moments with Levi, due to his popularity. The fights became less realistic and more animelike - eyecandy "wow look how cool this is awesome moves guys". Armin became a third wheel for the sake of filler ErenxMika fanservice. And everything about the last Annie vs Eren fight. ETC.

 

The anime turned in to typical anime and shounen-ish, the manga is still not. Its writing and art style doesn't remind me of it, and I didn't see a snip of Goku or shounen cliches. Tell me, what exactly is mainstream?

 

Maybe you just had too much expectation of it. "Everybody watches this stuff, it better be good". Only you can be sure of that, but I'm only guessing because thinking like that is merely human instinct.

I first started watching it last year after Los Angeles EX. I believe at the time only 13 episodes were up but it was very popular then and there. Too many cosplays and way to many references that were goign over my head. If the anime is over I believe I have more to watch now because i stopped after they captured Annie Leonhart. Also your right, by now its been cycled out and no longer mainstream, I go by definition

I think I also went in with too much expectation. that was a bad call on my part I was listening to everyone praising it that i forgot to remove myself from the popular opinion before going in. Will try not to make that mistake again.

 

The characters actually didnt even interest me that much at all. By the end of it I only knew the ones who had real time on screen such as Armin, Mika and Erin. The only one I will remember in 10 years? The potato girl.

Its so amazing. I am only watching the anime right now but its so great. I am glad I put it off as now I can watch all of them in one shot. I plan on reading the manga once I finish the anime, do you guys know if the anime skips some things? I just want to make sure I see everything. And does it have filler?

From what I can tell and not to spoil anything. The anime is practically spot on with some finer details either omitted or altered to better suit the anime flow. There really is no fillers so much as slight alterations to the plot.
