That proves it. They don't want to kill Obito outright because they know it isn't right. Death brings nothing, but more death. It is life that needs to be preserved. Interesting how so many are willing to take the blame for Obito's actions and saying that if Obito truly trusted his friends more, he could be the different man he is today. So like I said, manipulated by Madara into doing evil.

that it looks like Kakashi got to finish what he started (the TnJ), and that they're moving to Madara.  Hopefully the wait'll only be 2 weeks rather than 2 months, haha

This whole chapter...

Reminds me about what Shikamaru said a long time ago about the cycle of hatred and how it causes us all to want to get revenge. Guess people like Naruto and Minato realize that killing brings nothing but more of the same now just like Shikamaru explained. Hopefully Madara is dealt with in the next 3 chapters. I NEED the end of this war. like now. I honestly don`t see the fight with Madara dragging out too long because Minato mentioned it like it was an afterthought.

Nothing special...

This Team Minato reunion was inevitable ever since the possibility of redemption was offered to Tobi. All this chapter did was canonize the long awaited suspicions that many of us held. It's interesting that Kakashi admits to sharing his friend's nihilistic perspective of the world. That was probably one of the more compelling elements of the chapter. Kakashi has always been conscience-stricken when the subject was related to his past, particularly those closest to him. The remorse he feels for having failed in his pledge to his best friend, the grief he has for losing that person, and then the sense of withdrawal caused by the death of the only person from that harsh era to survive (his sensei) who died shortly after (and the one who is responsible for said death is his long lost friend whom Kakashi believed to be deceased this entire time). I thought it gave him a greater sense of humanity. It's tragic, but still very compelling.

 

Minato's role was as expected. It seemed like a scene induced by nostalgia with the visuals of Kakashi standing over his teammate, defeated, and Minato lecturing to both of them.

 

The TnJ aside, what can be gathered from this chapter? That Minato is capable of sensing emotions like his son, that much of the Alliance forces are willing to kill Tobi (if given the opportunity), and that the Shinju tree is still alive.

My thoughts

I liked this chapter, it was a nice little cool down/breather chapter before they deal with Madara.

 

One thing that occurred to me, doesn't it seem like Kakashi should have been at least a little surprised at Sasuke's presence since the last time they met they were trying to kill each other.

 

Anyway can't wait for 656 the next two weeks are going to be torture .

Kishi did brought a nice pace of symbolism with this panel : 

In the pitch black hell of darkness (loneliness) there is always a tiny  light of hope and if you are able to spot it , it will illuminate the silence. That road over there , represents Naruto or the path he has walked alone ,isolated and shunned. He has chased that spark , and has made an entire road of light when now everyone acknowledges him and will support him and follow in his steps in a way. Its about friends and how they can expel your worry and sadness i guess.

All in all not a bad chapter, not all problems are solved by killing a man , thus continuing the cycle of murder/hatred. Its like the Pain arc ,but a little different .

Well I am surprised Sakura wasnt shown at all especially since Kakashi was talking about people being at Naruto's side but whatever. Kakashi does say Naruto wont give up on his "dreams" plural so maybe also meaning being with Sakura as that is a dream if his. Thats just me squinting really hard for some sort of pairing reference lol.

Other than that the chapter was amazing Kakashi is amazing and just makes the manga better when he is there. Really glad Kakashi is back.:)

Meh. But it seems that not only Kushina wore the pants in the Uzumaki Family,but she was also the voice of reason , that's a great combination of traits in Naruto's character , no duh ..

What I liked...

was the last page with Naruto's Rasenshuriken atop of the tree illuminating the footprints of the Alliance in the distance (which were formed as they made there way to him), intertwining with Kakashi's quote of how Naruto's path had brought him friends and allies to aid him. That was a nice touch.

Madara is still to be dealt with, but this chapter will also remind people (though most likely do remember) that Sasuke is still an issue.
