Is it just me or do most free anime viewing sites seem to be down, in the sense that almost none of their anime episodes are loading/viewable, and a few sites have messages like these up:

QUOTE
So one of our video hosts is changing their player format every 12 hours, and we're rushing just to keep up. Current status: Broken

QUOTE
Important: We currently disable report system due to myspace players unavailability. Staffs are working very hard to replace all the non-working players from myspace and other sources ABC order. WE WILL prioritize those who report broken video links
on Facebook FAN PAGE with a reasonable amount of threaded comments.

Mm.

It's a good thing I direct download. But then the links I get are only good for around 24 hours before the hosting websites find out and delete them. D:

I refuse to download. I don't want to pack my hard drive and I don't re-watch anime anyway, so no reason to have entire seasons cluttering up my drive.

I have 1TB external drives so drive space isn't an issue with me. Generally Sakura-sama I'd agree with you. But I've found that after a few years I kinda want to pour into the old series that I liked, so having an one drive where I can find all my series is real helpful.

*nods* Yeah, for you that is a very useful thing indeed. I've been watching anime since '95 and I have never gotten the urge to go over and re-watch anything. I only ever re-watch stuff if it comes on tv, and I'm bored so I'll watch tongue.gif

It's the same reason I only play through game rpgs once. When I've finished watching/gaming through something once, I know the entire plot/storyline so there really isn't any surprise or thrill for me to see/play it again.

Generally speaking yea I'd agree with you again. But I found that if you're looking at something over and over again, yea there is no subtly left and no surprises, so it becomes boring. But if you have something you watched/viewed/read whatever and you put it down after a while, then watch it again. I've found that while I might have a general gist of what's going to happen in the story, smaller details I'll forget because after 20 to 200 or whatever episodes you're not going to memorize every single detail. (well at least I won't) So watching something old, becomes somewhat new again. ^^

Also wanted to add, that getting back to the original topic, Sakura-sama even if you don't want to bog down your hard drive, still doesn't mean direct download is a bad option. Just delete it after you've finished watching it. That's what I used to do before I became terabyte heavy. ^^ Because I haven't had the anime viewing site shut down yet, (knock on wood) with the sites that I use.

Well that's true with me for stories from books, and stories from fanfics. I can re-read a story I've read a dozen times over and love it every time. Just doesn't work with series or games with me tongue.gif

And eh...I just like to keep my laptop's hard drive as light and free as possible ^^

Cause even when you 'delete' stuff, certain files remain. Nothing is every really permanently deleted, unless you wipe you *entire* drive, and I have absolutely no interest in doing that tongue.gif

Also *makes grabby hands* Can I haz the links to those anime viewing sites you mentioned. I'm bored. I need my anime fix XD

I sent you a message also. We both have Anime-Take though. ^^ IRC, I haven't done that in years. (doesn't want to again either)
