[Insurrection]

Okay I'm a big fan of Gundam (except for gundam seed those flipping wannabe characters and mash up Gundams) especially the Universal Century stuff and Gundam 00 so when I heard about this new Gundam Unicorn OVA I wanted to check it out.

In one word...EPIC, Freaking Epic! I have watched a lot of Gundam but this is on track to be really, really good! It's an OVA so it's an hour long and they've panned it out with releases over time. There are details that we aren't filled in a precise way about like in any Gundam; but OMG, I want more!!!! The Universal Century is the original Gundam universe (BEST GUNDAM UNIVERSE EVUR) and in my opinion this is a step to reviving it.

It's just like Star Trek being made into new movie of epicness(more or less, Gundam is the Star Trek of Japan).

It's been a few years since I saw Char's Counterattack so I'm going to download and re-watch that before I see Unicorn. It's good to get a chance to watch UC Gundam in the new era, but a pity I won't see RX7 and Zaku II fight in glorious HD/BD.

The mobile suits designs are pretty intense. (Gotta confess. I love the monoeye. >.<)

Just watched this an hour ago and... WOW!!! I loved it, the mobile suits, the characters especially Banagher were so different from I'm what used to see in Gundam. This one is going to my top Gundam series I think, pity it's just an OVA.

Okay I get the joke, but this is from the original universe and is very original since it started as a series of light novels first. I loves me some Epyon and Deathscythe but this was pure Epic.

Any idea when the other ovas will be released? The ending was very action packed and it's really getting me back into the Gundam mood again.

That's the only downside, the wait is apparently fall or something, I wish it was now, but they're I don't know, actually trying with this one. The Dub is just as good, all the characters have unique voices which is a first. Gundam 00 dub sucked purely in comparison when it came to voice-overs.

Alright I finally broke down and watched it (first time watching anime in like..6 months? Last thing I saw was Kara no Kyokai) and oh god my inner UC fanboy has returned.

NT-D system makes the Unicorn Gundam look so freaking awesome. Full Frontal isn't a bad Char clone either, the fact that they have the same seiyu definitely improves that fact. Banagher seems alright so far but hasn't done much to make an impression. I'm sure that's bound to change with the new ova.
