The last chapter of the manga ends with Naruto being hated by his son and being written "stupid" on his face. I don't know why but I find this a bit funny.

I came to accept this mess. I view NH like how I view harry x Ginny now. I need some REAL good Affair fics or fics where Naruto leaves Hinata. :)

 

I've said it multiple times i'll say it again, H/G Was canon from book one, JKR never tried to decieve anyone with her pairings. Itpisses me off they keep comparing this kitten ending to HP. JKR made it clear to anyone who read her books properly that Harry will fall in love with Ginny, you know how NS fans like to bring in foreshadowing using the past to support our pairing? Guess what? Ginny was the fiery Redhead with the temper to boot just like Lily Potter and she was also the prankster just like James, two things Harry wasn't. Foreshadowing....Harry and Ginny was forshadowed just like NaruSaku, only one auther had the guts to stick with her planned pairing while the other one sold out.

 

Harry and Ginny actually dated, in Book six before they dated, when he was away from her in the last book he missed her, when he dumped her, she let him believe that she accepted it, but then on his birthday told him, she still loved him.

 

If anyone could not see the Harry and Ginny pairing then they didn't read the book right. I don't read books but I figured it out after the first book.

 

Now if you watched the movies, it's understandable, My sister and nephew and neices also though H/Hr was going to happen....JKR never lied, she put the clues in the books, she never tried to fool the H/Hr crowd, they just liked the pairing because H/Hr friendship was the best relationship in the books, but it was always set out as Sibling love. If JKR were to rewrite it now, she might change things,  but while writing the story, H/Hr were never on the cards.

I'm not sure why people are bashing or defending Naruto and Sakura. There's no reason to defend them considering Kishi completely ruined their entire characters. Yet for that same reason, there's no reason to bash them either. 699/700 seem so ridiculous and OOC because they are. This clearly wasn't meant to be the follow up to chapter 698. This clearly isn't what Kishi had in mind back in the Pain arc when he said he had the ending figured out. Instead, this is what SP and his editors talked him into when the started making the god awful movie. Even then, IMO, he still continued to write up to 698 the way he originally intended, and then switched to this at the end for the money (movie, merchandizing, Part 3). That's why it's so OOC, because it's not what he was bailing up to. There's no way he chose to make all the MK Paralles, all the hints and foreshadowing of Sakura's feeling, all the development NS got together ect. And then end it like this.
Because of that, I won't bash, defend, or feel anything at all to this ending. It's not the ending Kishi built up to, so it's not the ending I'll except. For me, I'll consider 698 the end and make my own assumptions from there. There's no way I'll let 44 pages and a movie ruin a 15 year old, 698 chapter series for me. I'm just waiting and hoping for Kishi to come out and admit this isn't how he intended it, and explain himself so we can get closure and get the ending we deserved.
I mean, I didn't even seem like he was happy about it. He wrote Naruto's son felling neglected just like he was, just to have Naruto basically say "Suck it up", he didn't show Naruto and Hinata together, he didn't show Sakura and Sasuke together, he made Naruto's kids (especially the daughter) seriously ugly, and he gave SS's kid Karin's glasses.
And while I honestly don't have much hope for this, I think I'd be cool if after Part 3 and the movie (after he's made all his money off of them) if he made an alternate ending with NS as the ending he originally intended.

I find it even annoying that my NH SS shipper friends are so happy about this when there's so many loopholes???

The fact that some of the fans believed NH and SS were foreshadowed or made sense, makes it easy for them to also believe this was a good ending...

A little positive comment (I think it is depend on your view on the matter): I'm happy Naruto and Sakura end up happy even if it's not together. Naruto has the family he always wanted and Sakura has.... Her Sasuke? I suppose LOL

So all those spoilers turned out to be true huh? Not surprised, not surprised at all. I'm sure not going to read it. I want to maintain something of a untarnished image of Sakura so I don't want to read a chapter where she becomes little more than pairing fodder for a guy who mistreated her so horribly. Call me delusional, but there are things I genuinely like about Sakura and I don't want to let go of them. Kishimoto's the one at fault for this mess anyway.

 

At least as pairings go I'll still have Soul/Maka (hey, at least it's implied), Chrno/Rosette (even the tragic ending of Chrno Crusade is a hundred time better than this utter BS), and Aang/Katara (irrefutably canon). And I'm still holding out hope for Oz/Alice in Pandora Hearts.

 

Yup, time to move on and pretend such this horrendous ending never happened. I don't get what Kishimoto is even thinking, this manga has turned into complete nonsense.

The funniest thing about this ending for me is just how inconclusive it was despite Kishi himself coming out and saying he'd end thing conclusively.

 

See for me I wouldn't really have much of an issue with NH/SS had Kishimoto actually put in the effort into developing those dynamics. With NH we never got an answer to her confession to Naruto nor was Naruto shown to think of her individually or in a romantic light within the entire manga. With SS we have Sasuke disregarding Sakura's life and putting her down as a ninja, only to have all he did reversed within one chapter.

 

Then there was a lack of word on what Orochimaru, Kabuto, Taka and Yamato are doing, no actual NaruSaku resolution (no talk, no anything) and just in general loose ends still remaining open.

 

I've chilled out a bit now because honestly it isn't worth trying to make sense and get angry about it. There was really no need to introduce Sakura as someone Naruto had feelings for that stuck for 699 chapters only to disregard them in the end. There was really no need to parallel him with Jiraiya and Obito, who were on teams with similar character dynamics and all failed at getting the girl, only to "foreshadow" Naruto actually achieving where they failed. There was really no need to mold Kushina from Sakura (insecurity, opinion of Minato and similar temper) and then "foreshadow" Naruto getting with her, which ties back to Jiraiya and Obito not getting them. Finally, 631 and 663 were completely unnecessary with Naruto and the girlfriend comment, Minato comparing Sakura to Kushina and the imagery and symbolism with the heart grab and CPR moment. Obito then making a comment about helping him when he stumbles.

 

The growing care and relationship between those two (which was one that saw the most change) in the end amounted to nothing simply because there was no resolution to it and everything I mentioned above. In both chapters Naruto and Sakura did not even say a word to each other despite what they went through to get Sasuke back which annoys me the most. Not even a thank you from Sakura and no even a confession which was implied would happen had Naruto achieved in getting Sasuke back. The pairing outcome is one thing, but lack of resolution to just about everything is probably what angers me the most about this ending. For a story rich in characters and world, everything was done haphazardly imo.

 

It would have been better if Naruto had not shown interest in any girl from chapter 3 imo.

 

There was even date for the day Naruto fell in love with Sakura in an issue of Shonen jump.  Really, why have that, and yet have him end up with another girl!?

I didn't think it was OOC. Maybe because I consider the possibility of NH/SS since some weeks now. Anyway, we all know that even if we would have prefered NS, if Kishi decided to make NH and SS i means that they're all gonna be happy in their couple. Except in fanfiction, they'll be happy.

I thought it was the RonXHermione pair that didn't make sense, and JK actually said she shouldn't have put them together.
