Interesting end to the chapter with the Number 9 and number 7 seat making a movement. I also seems to imply the number three seat is involved with the former number nine as well.

 

The Hokkaido trails seems to be overly complicated, and also kinda feel unneccesery as didn't Azami say he was ditching the old method of survival of the fittest? Isn't he just replacing, the best with the best imitators? But essentially the same as the regime.

Yeah that is the case here. Like I said, He's not anything interesting and his thinking not not complex, He' is just expecting everyone to be a "fabulous"   gourmand like him. Everyone must have the same standards as him. Everyone must cook the exact same as him. He doesn't even understand the fallacy of his own thinking because he's so obsessed with his sempai. Now granted that is not to say that this is boring for me to read, since I want to see his ambitions crumble. But that is the gist of it, and I believe Azami is meant to showcase what Erina could become if he had stuck her to his training. Therefore he's used so that Erina could break away from his twisted and childish philosophy. As we've seen, she has had GREAT character development in the span of a few chapters so I think that if done properly it is to resolve any issues with her snobbery and elitism and to go back to how she used to be, or at least being more social and open-minded.

 

BTW LOVED her teacher outfit.    Guess I was right in having her do lectures in my Fanfiction.  And having her admit to Soma she wants him to pass his first year with all of his friends and her was sweet. A far-cry from how she was in the beginning.

Disappointed to find out that season 2 will only have 13 episodes :( This should be sufficient though to cover the election arc. Hopefully, they'll announce a season 3 along the way.

I honestly have no idea tbh. I mean, there is really no reason to skip chapters. We've covered around 1/3 of the election arc already if I'm not mistaken.

Oh, and I actually got curious and looked up where Hokkaido is, the region where the next few challenges will take place:

Yeah, apparently Tootsuki Academy makes their students travel through 1/4 of the country to pass the 1st year...

 

 

Somebody an mangahelpers figured out all the possible routes a student could take. Since the student needs to pass 6 challenges, there are a bunch of combinations, imao.

Route A: 1,2,3,7,11,12
Route B: 1,2,4,7,11,12
Route C: 1,2,5,8,10,12
Route D: 1,2,6,7,11,12
Route E: 1,2,6,8,10,12
Route F: 1,2,6,9,10,12

 

All of them, begin at the same place in the south, which will most likely focus on seafood. Everyone will also go to Sapporo, the biggest city in the North Japan. The last station is the Rebun Island in the northwest. And guess what? Not only is the island simply beautiful, but it's also known for its hiking course, which is approximately 4 hours long. Imao, I have the feeling the last challenge is gonna be physically draining. Actually, this whole thing is just crazy and showcases the sheer scale of this competition. Erina's preparation was absolutely necessary now that I realize how specific and regionalized the students' dishes will have to be in order to pass.

 

This map shows all the ingredients each region is known for. It gives us an idea what we can expect from each region (besides potatoes) and what route some might wanna avoid.

 

I am looking forward to this arc. If there is one thing I like about cooking stories, it's learning the cooking from a specific region. Only thing that bugs me is that kittening Azami is also overseeing this competition. I don't want the demonlord to be part of this. I want him out, lol.

lol there have been jokes going  around with people saying " SOMA!!!!! your wife has just given you some crucial advise/encouragement, so don't mess up!!!!!   Well, they're tecnically not wrong. 

 

Anyway, to celebrate Erina's new CD I feel even more of a drive to do part 5 of my fanfictions so look forward to it. I got some new ideas, because she is shaping up to be just as I imagined in my fanfiction lol  it will be out in a few days I promise

Like I get that that's the type of pressure thta they are getting but didn't she resolve to become a second year  2 chapters ago when Erina encouraged them to stand up and pass no matter what. It is flip flopping a bit too much back and forth in that regard.

Yuki was essentially the mouthpiece for the mangaka to show the level of dispair they should be feeling at that moment in time, and they couldn't use the rest of the cast as they are all higher tier than her so Yuki or the nerdy speccy or the loud twins are used to give the readers the reaction a regular non-elite member would have.

 

I do want to know what Erina taught them as he never mentioned it, yet instinctively knew the other two would know what he was talking about dispite neither of them being at the lessons, which when you consider Alices spying habits on Erina is in itself surprising.

 

I really don't like the precedent this chapter has set for the remaining arc, if the first hurdle is using such blatant methods of sabertage, then how bad will the following five tests be? And boy are the charactors behaviours cringe worthy, I;ve read it three times now, and each time I physically cringe reading the words from the examiners mouth and the tools the remaining students have become. I've not seen this level of brainwashing since Steve Jobs came back to Apple.
