Yeah that scene was cute, specially the disheveled hair.

 

I really don't get the Azami arc, is the Mangaka planning on ending this manga after the first year? We already seem to be at a point where you struggle to see how the current arc can be topped when it comes to conflict. I could see Souma leaving school and then returning a year later to beat the regime, but for that to happen he'd need a reason to return, and pretty much everyone has been expelled. Yeah Erina would be there but she would be alone, in which case it would be better for her to leave with Souma and plan their takeover of the school together.

 

This arc reminds me of Hitman Reborn in a way, they had an arc where they went to the future, and the enemy got defeated, the manga struggled to remain relevant, same was the case with Bleach, after Aizen, the manga was sort of just there, I'm worried after Azami the manga will suffer the same way, and Azami is not exactly interesting enough that they can continue with him as the main antagonist until the end.

 

I wonder how Alices father would have reacted knowing while he was judging on behalf of the school, his daughter was being expelled at the same time? Can't be a good reaction.

 

Also did anyone find it odd how Souma thought the rebels being placed against the Elite Ten in their expert fields was not an unfair tactic? They were put in a unfair and lopsided situation, where their chance of survival was minute, Souma was the only one who had what could even be considered a fair match-up. For kittens sake they put the number one seat against Isami against the number one seat, how was that a fair tactic?

Yeah, hopefully there will be an even better villain than Azami if any villain at all. Like I said, he's not meant to be an interesting villain, he's merely giving us a glimpse at What Erina could potentially be in the future had she kept to the "culinary snobbery" viewpoint that he forced on her. But lets see how it turns out. Although there IS the risk factor it will turn stagnant after this.

Well the first year could be their rise to power by taking the 10 seats. The next years could be them governing the school, and the difficulty coming with that. Then the final year could be them figuring out where they are going and what they are doing for their future as well as passing their knowledge on to the next generation.

If i were azami i would use first seat against Souma, i mean that is the son of my biggest rival/idol, so i will use my biggest and strongest weapon to expel him. Instead they use Hayama ..... really?? , and use the first seat against the weakest threat ?? . well ...okay.

Remember he doing this to get revenge on the school and the world for failing his dear Shiba-sempai. He may want to convince Soma the greatness of central instead of doing the same thing to his dear Shiba-sempai's son.

OK so we are already at the point of them rushing to the end of the arc. I still can't help but wonder what direction the manga will go after this arc, two years to see Souma climb the last few steps doesn't sound like it will be very interesting. a small part of me wants them to lose so they are forced in a new direction. (I can't believe nobody pointed out to Souma he lacked the numbers to take five seats in the Elite 10.

 

The art was on point this week, Erina looked cute all disheveled, and both Jou and Souma looked badarse.

 

You have to wonder about Rindou, anyone else would be kicked out for their antics but she's till there, the number three seat was kicked out without issue, (something I still don't understand, I thought once you get the seat, the only way you can lose it is by either losing it in a shokugeki, expulsion from school or finishing your education, they hold so much power but they can be kicked out with prejudice.) However Rindou just gets a mild telling off, really why was she no kicked out with the other three?

Who knows. I like the development so far and look forward to seeing a team battle. The set up is a little contrived but makes sense. As Takumi said, there was no way any of their plans would work out because it was a matter of whether or not they'd be accepted.

Very true, you need to add something of equal value for them to accept the Shokugeki.

 

I have the feeling that with Jouchirou, now involved, the end is going to be pretty much like the Hashirima and Madara final scene, where despite all the crap Madara pulled, he was forgiven in the end without really earning that forgiveness.

I liked this chapter! Didn't expect Saiba and Senzaimon to be there. Loved Souma's idea and how he challenged Nazami. What I love the most though is how Erina has been influenced by Souma. She's such a dork lol and she even got the courage to stand up to her father. That's all Souma.

So next chapter are we gonna learn how he met his wife? At the end of the first chapter, he mention that the secret to becoming a good chef was "meeting woman would make you want to give all your food to." And they are mentioning how his view of cooking change and went a different course compared to his friends. Two which never married, and one who married for political purposes.

When Azami said something about Joichirou serving those commoner , it's starting become clear there is a different in both ideology that makes Azami goes to this drastic measure. I'm guessing that Azami only serve food/sell his gourmet to those who has big status or wealth/rich people, while Joichirou on the other hand the opposite of that coin. Just when Joichirou said that he will abandon all his way just to become Azami lapdog and embrace his way make Azami like about to have on orgasm .... at least it's clear that Azami idolize Joichirou cooking skills and his food, but does not agree with him serving a commoner. And somehow i feel like Azami is Yandere x)
