#990841 The Great Naruto Discussion Thread

So, on the topic of a live-action series, I see three potential ways this could go.

1: SP is directly involved and keeps everything the exact same, and maybe even does more damage to Sakura's character.

2: The studio producing the show is completely woke (which is outlawed in Japan) and makes every worst possible decisions.

3: We get a good producer who reads through the entire manga, thinking Naruto will either die or end up with Sakura, and then gets kitten slapped across the face when NH happens out of nowhere. He/she thinks that's completely stupid, and puts Naruto with Sakura or kills him off. Both endings are superior to what we got with the original crap.

Also,,, can someone please tell me WTF was the point of the Anbu?! I thought these guys were supposed to be the best of the best. The elite of the elite. The last guys you wanna F with, and yet they're torn to shreds in every single fight they're ever in. Konohomaru from episode 2 could probably just sneeze in the general direction of these guys and still kill them by accident~

They really did Sakura wrong in the anime. If it wasn't for SP's biasness with Hinata, Sakura very likely would have been extremely popular.

That's all good and dandy, but my overall point is the extreme levels of wokeness ( All white people are evil, America is evil for having had slaves at one point, men competing in women's sports, preaching sexuality to underage kids, there are more than two genders, putting black people in positions they never would have been in historical shows, etc) are increasingly becoming unfavorable views by the general public. And sooner or later this will not be a topic that can be debated.

Already we're seeing the pendulum start to swing in the opposite direction. Wokeism and feminism have become such toxic topics that their only future is self-destruction. Feminists have gone so bat kitten crazy that they call all men every hostile name in the book, treat men like kitten, complain about their partners on social media, and intentionally divorce their husbands just to take half the stuff he has worked so hard to build throughout his life. It's to the point now that Western and especially American men are going abroad to look for traditional women that won't demean them. Studies show by 2030 the majority of women will be single and unable to find partners thanks to their egos and unrealistic standards for men to live up to.

Feminists are also not helped by the fact men aren't enrolling into colleges anymore. Male enrollment rates are dropping in colleges and universities as men begin to pursue trade schools where they can learn actual jobs that society really needs. Electricians, plumbers, truck drivers, construction workers. You know... jobs women typically couldn't care less for. Let alone want to date someone who has those types of jobs.

Then you have to factor in the fact more and more men are becoming less comfortable around women. All a woman has to do is lie on social media about an innocent man raping her and his entire life is ruined. Before there's even an investigation into what happened, that innocent man is spit on by society and won't even get a chance to tell his side of the story. There's a thin line between flirting and harassment, and it all has to do with a woman's personal tastes in a man.

The reason I bring feminism into this is because feminism and wokeness are tied together in many ways. Women overwhelmingly lean to the left side of politics and are the life blood of woke culture. Yet, these liberal women can't find partners because they want traditional masculine men who are leaders. Well, guess what? Traditional masculine men tend to be more Conservative, so it leaves liberal women in an awkward place because these Conservative men won't even give them a second glance because they likely believe in abortion and have an insane body count.  On top of that, why would a traditional Conservative man settle with a woman who isn't a traditional woman? You can't have your cake and eat it too.

As the pendulum swings further and further in the opposite direction, Feminism will become less and less appealing until it dies out. And once Feminism dies out, so too will woke culture.

I wouldn't really say that about the west, as recent polling showed most American's find it more positive than negative, heck I find some get rather off putted if one goes too far in the other end when they go too anti woke and take extreme positions. Some of the countries in those areas you mentioned aren't exactly the best on humans rights issue in general, though I won't say which ones as that might be too political for this thread

https://www.advocate...-americans-poll

https://eu.usatoday....ll/11417394002/

I guess it depends on how you get your news and information. Polls tend to not be very reliable since the people making the polls tend to target people who align with their ideals. If you poll people in the city you're going to have very different result than if you polled people in small rural towns. But from what I've seen, wokeness is only in the cities. You might catch glimpses of it in small rural areas, but it's not shoved down our throats.

BUT the sources I watch show the left is split down the middle with wokeness. 50% approve of it, while the other 50% disapprove of it. Whereas the right is united and dislikes it altogether.

From what I could gather, most of the NH fandom were horny teens who just liked Hinata because of her "assets." Chances are, they either just don't care anymore, or most of them have grown up and realized in hindsight Sakura was far superior. I've noticed there has been a lot more Sakura defenders lately, so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them re-read the series and realized they were played.

You know... After recently re-reading and re-watching the series, I gotta say I think I would have honestly rather seen Sakura with Rock Lee than anyone else. After Lee's fight with Gaara, we really got to see how caring and gentle she can be with those she sees as friends, and that she's not a monster like she's made out to be by NH / Hinata fans. While it wasn't really a big ship from what I remember, I do believe the LeeSaku moments were some of the best interactions in the series on a character-to-character level. Of course, there were other moments that outdo them later on, but I would honestly love to see Sakura and Lee get more attention if the series ever got a reboot or something.

I mean, even if it's too straightforward, Lee literally approached Sakura and asked her to be his girlfriend the second he saw her in the hallway of the Chuniin Exams. Can we all agree a brother at least deserves a chance with the girl for being THAT brave right off the bat? The guy didn't waste a second! He literally saw the girl he likes, approached her, asked her to be his girlfriend, then was shot down like a bomber over AAA guns in WWII. The guy deserves AT LEAST a pat on the back if nothing else!

If I recall correctly, didn't they falsely advertise "The Last" as a NS movie but then secretly changed Sakura to Hinata? I remember people talking about a huge outcry in Japan at the time over something along those lines. People went to the theaters expecting to see Naruto and Sakura, then saw it was Naruto and Hinata. A lot of people just stood up and left the movie, but they weren't allowed refunds.

If I'm remembering this correctly, that's some shady business from SP and would answer why "The Last" sold better than "RtN." But it's possible I'm just misremembering since its been basically a decade.

I recently re-watched and re-read the series, and the amount of BS SP went through to make Hinata come off as a good character was just disgusting. EVERYTHING Hinata ever did up to the Pain fight was get her ass handed to her. Sure she had a few good moments, but they were few and far in between. Her character existed to get beaten up by Neji in part 1 and that was basically it.

Then, in Shippuden, you never SAW Hinata! Anywhere! Even during the crappy Sora filler ark she was nowhere to be found. I admit I skipped a lot of the filler stuff, but I watched the Sora one just for nostalgia sake. Even some comments I've made on a few YouTube channels have her loyal servants coming out to defend her, but I don't put up with their BS. I'm not against bashing the kitten out of her character because she always was useless in my view, and I don't hesitate to point out the many reasons why.

For all the crap people love to give Sakura, SHE AT LEAST STILL DID kitten! JESUS! Between just saving Koncuro and defeating Sasori, she's already done more than Hinata did through the whole damn series! Once again, Hinata's character existed to be a punching bag and little else. And the fact the overwhelming reason she was so "popular" to begin with was just because she had boobs really speaks volumes about the maturity of her fanbase.

I literally forgot how annoying her fans are until they came out of the woodwork trying to defend her. They will literally pull anything out of their asses to make Hinata look good and make Sakura look bad. For example: the most recent cuffuffle I had with one of her fans was them trying to say Sakura never respected Naruto. EXUSE THE kitten OUTA ME?!?! Sakura was willing to fail the Chuniin Exams so Naruto wouldn't lose his one and only dream of becoming Hokage.

I kid you not, this person literally responded saying, "It didn't matter. The examiner said the 10th question didn't matter in the same episode."

So, we're expecting Sakura to be kittening physic now and be able to see 10 minutes into the future?

This person then proceeded to tell me "Hinata was willing to let Naruto cheat off her papers."

Yes, and if he had gotten caught, he and the rest of Team 7 would have been removed from the test, not to mention Hinata's team would've likely gotten in trouble too. I explained to them, in detail, why Hinata's actions were selfish and Sakura's selfless, but as usual it was like arguing with a toddler.

Obviously, this is just one example out of hundreds, but the point still stood.

I know bashing technically isn't allowed on this site, but I needed to vent.

Even my girlfriend, who doesn't watch a lot of anime thinks these people are nuts!

One thing I don't really understand in anime or manga is why love and romance is viewed as something weird or something that needs to be done at the very end of the show. I get Shonan is more focused on action, but whenever it's just none-stop fighting, it gets very dull and boring after a while. While romance is not something EVERYBODY is going to like, it doesn't mean it HAS to be just lovey-dovey stuff. There can be playful flirting, arguments, teasing, comforting, or even just sitting down to have a one-on-one chat between two characters to act as a break from the plot and fighting, and it gives an opportunity to explore other characters a bit more and offer some relief from the overall plot.

I think this is one thing that kind of puts a lot of people off about certain anime/manga is the fact that romance is written so awkwardly. If two characters like each other, and it's blatantly obvious they like each other, just put them together!

Looking at you, Fairy Tail!

I'm actually kind of convinced Naruto WAS supposed to end after the Pain fight, but the franchise was one of the bigger named titles at the time, so SP needed Kishi to keep going. There's a noticeable decline in the writing after that point in the story, you could kind of tell Kishi was pulling stuff from his ass to make the series go on for the next several years.

There are a lot of videos that talk about the hypocrisy that's in Naruto. It's in an abundance, but I still love everything up to the Pain Fight. I REALLY wish it had ended there because it would have been the perfect time.

Naruto defeats Pain and finally earns Sakura's love.

Tsunade goes into her coma and wakes up a few weeks later, and retires after learning what Naruto did.

Naruto is offered the title of Hokage, but turns it down until Sasuke returns.

Sasuke kills Itachi and wanders off into the wilderness where he eventually encounters Leaf Ninja. Because Madara hadn't told him the truth, Sasuke is still redeemable and surrenders peacefully. He is brought back to the village to be put on trial, but Naruto convinces Tsunade not to have him executed. Instead, Sasuke must serve a multi-year prison sentence, but will be released in time.

Sasuke is released and pardoned, and then Team 7 finally reunites.

Naruto finally accepts the title of Hokage and the story concludes.

I have a friend at work who is a mega anime nerd, and he can't stand Boruto. And he never cared for the shipping, but he thinks it's stupid Naruto got with Hinata and not Sakura. I even asked him about Lee and Sakura, and he said that still made more sense than what we got.

Honestly, I don't know very many people who would have complained if Sakura ended up with Lee.

Well, I'm done. I think it's time to close the curtains on this place. The site feels like it's just stuck in the past. with the same discussions and talking points on an endless loop. I can't say that I knew many of you very well, and I know I came off as a massive jerk at times. But the past is the past and I can't change that. So, for what it is, I offer my appologies to being such a jerk in the past. Naruto ended what feels like a lifetime ago to me, and I think it's time to just let it sit and fester in the past wherei t belongs. It was a strong influence to me, and inspired most of my writing up until now. But after receicving such a massive blow to my morale for writing stories, I think I'm calling it quits. I need to move on and find my own niche.

So, this is good-bye. I keep coming back to this site out of habit, but there's little to nothing for me here anymore. Habits die hard, but I need to move on. If, for whatever reason, you'd like to stay in touch just shoot me a PM. We'll figue something out from there.

Thanks for all the memories, H&E.

You do you, man. This site honestly feels like it's anchored in the past and refuses to move on. So, I'll probably be closing the curtains on this place, too. Naruto ended what feels like a life-time ago now, and I think it's time to just let it sit and rest in the past where it belongs.

Personally, I don't really care if he comes out and confirms it or not. The story ended nearly ten years ago and I've moved on in life.
