Calling Dr. Snakes! Sorry couldn't resist. Karin is an Uzumaki! I find that awesome cause I unlike many actually like Karin's character. As for others with red hair I believe that to be true as well cause it seems like they all have unique body types. I wanted team 7 legendary sennin. I still don't like Kabuto but the power up is awesome. Maybe I see Sasukarin. It is possible. NaruKarin? Hm I guess... I have question. I hate asking these because they might not be relevant but do you think we might see a Slug Sage? The answer is probably no with so little time and all of other things not settle yet.

Hahaha, not just SS would be upset. I'm telling you, if SasuKarin is possible from a pairing point of view, than all criticisms about SS are invalid. Somehow, though, I can see it getting into that territory (though I think he was more put off by the fact she was an Uzumaki rather than excited) "She's a what?" =| Related to THAT guy? My rival I'm supposed to beat? Eh. If it happens, not the end of the world, but it just feels so wrong. Darn these women unable to let go of Sasuke. I hope that shred of respect I gained for Karin doesn't go to waste when she sees him again.

Actually not at all surprising, Kushina did say her chakra was special amonst even the Uzumaki, I took it that meant Uzumaki's Chakra had large chakra levels and wasn't surprising if they had other special properties, Naruto himself has shown he has self healing abilities during the Chuunin exams even after Orichimaru sealed off access to the Kyuubi for him. Sasori and Gaara being part of Uzumaki clan isn't that fetched, there must have been a reason why they beleived Gaara would be able to hold the One Tails and Chiyo was not only a very skilled medic nin but also had enough skill as a Fuinjutsu specialist to seal the One Tails inside Gaara, Maybe that rivalry between Chiyo and Tsunade was part of them both holding the DNA of the Uzumaki clan. You also can't discredit how she was able to use her life force to save Sakura and also partially help Gaara, at her age it should be impossible to have enough life force to do so. Who knows Mei having Dual bloodline might also be down to her Uzumaki blood but her hair is not quite the same as other Uzumaki's so might not be the case, can't discount it either way.

I'd speculated in the past that Karin and Chiyo were members of the Uzumaki clan, not so much with Chiyo as she's already dead, And hey if Temari and Gaara are Uzumaki maybe that also explains th high Wind Affinity. I'll admit part of me now really wants Karin and Sasuke to get together at the end now, it would be hilarious if Naruto and Sasuke were related through marraige somehow...but damn it can you imagine how strong the child of Uzumaki and Uchiha would be? The Ying and the Yang of the Rikkuden in one body.

So the snake is now a Dragon? Damn you Kishi, you keep Naruto a toad sage and you promote the snake to Dragon!!!!! Always has to have someone upstage Naruto somehow it seems. But I like how to master Toad Sage you have to look more human but to master the Snake Sage you have to look more like a snake, that's a interesting contrast.

From this day forward I am going to refer to Sasuke as Dr. Snake...lol

Well, this really didn't come as a suprise... Paradox Jast came with the thought of Karin being an Uzumaki ages ago in Whirlpool Country, it has made sense to me ever after... PJ just gained another point in predicting the manga!

Despite all the talk, I didn't find this particularly informative as to the possibility of SasuKarin. That she is an Uzumaki doesn't seem to make it more or less likely. At least explains the trend of red hair. I had always wondered if it was a physical trait he just happened to like, kinda like Kubo and big boobs.

That said, when Kabuto said she was Uzumaki, I couldn't roll my eyes hard enough. Same thing when Kabuto referred to them as "friends." Like I said in my rant last night, wasn't him forming those type bonds the reason he ditched his team the first time and why he wants to kill Naruto?

It feels like he wants them to matter so bad. It's just not working for me.

Though I do wonder...is the scroll they found going to be related to this fight? It was Orochimaru's layer, so it would a good possibility. If so, I'm curious how they will find him. If it were me, I'd have Karin seek them out and then seek Sasuke out (or course there is a time problem with that), so as not to have them stumble upon the battle at random.

Yeah. A lot of the reasons people use as to why Sakura shouldn't hold onto her feelings and why it'd destroy her character if she got together with Sasuke are there in spades with Karin. You could make a case based on story development (Karin's not in a love triangle and Sasuke really isn't either), but all the reasons why it would be so horrible for Sakura...yeah, I can't see how we could credibly claim that while at the same time selling SasuKarin as alternative.

I had a feeling that scroll had something to do with Kabuto's weakness or something, considering that if he's taking all these different aspects of people, wouldn't he acquire some of their weaknesses? Or perhaps something Kabuto-specific he was trying to fix through research and those are his notes? Idk. Along with Team Hmph I will once again agree--it doesn't work. They're not good replacements for the Team 7 focus we've had on the manga, in fact their existence cheapens it. I look back on part one and knowing what I do now, it's hard to enjoy as much because I keep thinking "and all this is ditched for Team Change-my-Name uuuuurgh". Makes me quite mad when I think of it that way. I could rant forever about them, and the more they appear I think the more bitter my feelings will become. To the chill-pill box.

I didn't think of it that way! That's true, it would be the first time Sasuke comes into contact with sage mode. Although Naruto was running toward them with it activated, I think it was so he could just get there on time. When he looks back, his eyes are normal. Still, he'll be in for a suprise considering Naruto has his fox-mode...? What do you call that? -sweatdrop- I mean, the reincarnation of the original father of ninja is quite something. With Kabuto, they have to level the playing field for Sasuke because right now, Naruto is far more powerful. I think that's the first time that's been considered in the manga, given that we always complained Sasuke was one step ahead. Naruto took leaps.

This is why I'm so frustrated with NaruSaku fans who jump at SasuKarin. People insist that SasuKarin is different from SasuSaku, but how? First, it assumes that Sakura was just so insignificant in Sasuke's life and he had no feelings for her or anything, but along comes this one and everything from they clearly got in on offscreen to "he really, really loves her because he NEEDS her..." makes me cringe. It's really hypocritical! Karin had less moments with him, and was made out to be an even bigger fangirl than Sakura... Sakura loved Sasuke just as Karin did. They were both nearly killed by him, they both cried over him, but know what? Karin did something Sakura didn't--I would argue the only thing with these two pairings... She fully stated she was done with him. There was no one around. She was saying that to HERSELF. Sakura said it to Naruto, but we know she didn't mean it.

They're too similar, and even Kishimoto pointed it out with their meeting. I was hoping they could bond over having loved (in past tense) someone like that. If Sasuke is capable of having a relationship--if we feel he can do that--then all along it was possible for Sakura. As a NaruSaku fan, I would readily say that with the options of SS or SK, I would choose the former. I just like Team 7 more. They were what got me into Naruto. It was all about them part one, and early part two, but the moment Team Not-7 came in, that was when Team 7 started to feel less and less important in the manga.

I just hope the end of it, when Naruto and Sasuke do confront, gives us that bit of an echo back. I'm nostalgic for part one, and all of these little details that keep getting added surrounding Sasuke's other relationships just bother me. He shouldn't have them--he left for a purpose. His whole "no bonds" shtick I thought had been emphasized when he betrayed Karin, but then it's attributed to him going "insane" from darkness or whatever. He didn't want them to begin with! >.< He left Konoha for that reason, and CLEARLY his brother is the most important thing on his mind... Then comes Naruto. The rest, EVEN SAKURA AS WE ARGUE don't factor for him.

But he ttly has the hots for Karin.

It looks like Naruto is going to pop Kyuubi's bubble, but Kyuubi is behind Sakura and Team, while they look incredibly small... Naruto is a giant! =O Or everyone else shrunk...

Main reason why SasuKarin is different from SasuSaku? First time that Sasuke hurt her, she decided that she was through. She doesn't put up with his cray. That's why I like her. lol

Pleased that Karin is an Uzumaki, hopefully this means increased panel time/relevance for her.

The issue would seem to be lack of knowledge. Kabuto knew, but that doesn't mean Karin does. Naruto possessed the last name, but didn't know what it meant until Kushina told him. Wasn't Karin with Grass in the beginning? Does she know Naruto is an Uzumaki? I don't know how much info Sasuke gave on his old team.

I could maybe see a redeemed Sasuke telling him. Otherwise, I'm not sure who would do it.

I agree with Deej that is probably what will happen otherwise connecting her with that name seems pointless.

Don't forget Sasori.

Which means it was probably Chiyo that was the full Uzumaki. Her hair is all grey so we couldn't see the hair color of her youth- but note how it was straight like Nagato's, Kushina's, Mito (we see that when she is an older woman), and now Karin's. Sasori had kind of spikey hair that he must have inherited from his grandfather. Chiyo's son had red hair while Chiyo's daughter-in-law had dark brown hair.

I've got to say that was an interesting chapter, I wasn't expecting Karin to be a member of the Uzumaki clan, but then again with her chakra sensing abilities, and Mito Uzumaki having the same ability, I suppose it was only a matter of time before she was revealed as a member. Seriously though? Kabuto is now Dr. Snakes? That's freakin' hilarious if he has that nickname. I think it suits him from some reason, and his sage mode makes him look like one ugly motherf*****. If I know Itachi and Sasuke, they'll find a way to combat Dr. Snake's sage mode, and wait until it wears out before they strike him down.
