#987474 The NEW NaruSaku Debate Thread

Posted by LuckyChi7 on 13 July 2022 - 10:55 PM

same he'd be more interesting as a villain but maybe nerf him a bit cause evil naruto is to op

Without a doubt, and I know the Naruto community loves to joke about Talk no Jutsu... I mean we do it all the time, but to be honest...

Naruto's way to persuade people though words in a rather dark evil,  ruthless vibe.... is honestly really dangerous.

Same thing. Last thing we need is something like Mr. Horikoshi catching COVID or something else.

For real, my dad caught it a couple weeks ago, and oh boy.... I was on high alert for those two weeks checking up on him to see how he was feeling and all.

It's definitely something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

So I pray Kohei hasn't caught it!

Seems possible, considering how Iruka's actions towards Naruto, as he said himself, were stemming from forgetting how Naruto's actions as a kid were like his own, and how some of it alo felt like it was because Naruto was Kurama's Jinchuriki, and how Mizuki telling the truth did make Naruto almost pour out a lot of chakra in rage

I think that is a really fascinating concept to dive into, and granted there are a few things you would have to work around with the narrative for it to work.  But I could Iruka being a huge catalyst that leads Naruto down that path.

I wouldn't say it's a direct cause, but you could use it as like the seed that leads him to all that misfortune.

Lets say for example things play similarly to chapter 1, but the major difference is Iruka dies  in the first chapter and  all the villagers look to Naruto and pin the blame on him making him feel responsible when in actuality we know it was Mizuki.

I think to make it work you can have Part 1 be centered on Naruto attempting to make things right, but there is always some kind of tragedy that comes his way.  Lets use it as like a grim reaper analogy where everywhere he goes something tragic happens to someone.

There is still a lot that can be to make the concept work, but I'm just sharing some ideas here.

The writing for Orochimaru ended being a disservice to his early characterization.

Part 1 is where Orchimaru truly peaked and he was really menacing too.

There is honestly so much Part 2 did that really made things go south.

I'd prefer it this way to be honest. I know all too well how stressful it is to be a mangaka for WSJ. working conditions are pretty horrible, even for the highly esteemed ones. How ever I hope it is not a sign of actual failing health. I'd be so sad if that's the case

Yeah the working conditions in Japan are abysmal so it's totally understandable why we're getting so many breaks.  What matters the most is making sure everyone's health is in top priority.

I pray there isn't anything about his health deteriorating.

Seeing this thread, it reminds me-- has anyone here made some One Piece OC's? My friend Kurt and I have come up with an entire crew and some adventures for them to go on.

You know, that's a fascinating idea!

I've been spitballing a few concepts about doing a fan fic in the One Piece world.

I could take it a step further and say, maybe doing like a roleplaying game out of it, if it's not already a thing.

My uncle passed away from stage 4 lung cancer last monday, and the funeral was on Wednesday.  I've been through a few funerals before with my grandpa and grandma, but this one I almost choked up twice.... "choked up" in a sense where I nearly balled during the whole thing....

been going to my cousin's house daily since then to give him all the support, and.... every time I walk in...  my uncle's room is the first one I see and I keep hearing "Hey, how is life going on with you?"  and I just can't help, but pause and just stare for like 5 minutes.... and just feeing this inner pain.

What I have to say about that is that focusing on the Uchiha is yet another cheap plot device and the focus was not to develop the clan but as an extension of Sasuke and his back story and motivations to set up his conflict with Naruto. Clans and families otherswise are only touched upon only to show you that they are there and do not delve further or develop. Not the Uzumaki, not the Hyuga, not the Sarutobi etc. etc. they are just there

A lot of the problem I feel is that when you get stuff about the clans (not just the uchiha) it's predominately shown through flashback. You don't really get much abou them during the present which honestly really say a lot about the story.

Which is BS and something I want to rectify in TDW,since while the Uchiha will be powerful, they won't be God tier.

It's honestly kind of astounding how little the Uchiha had centered, and I think that was for the better.

Not to say it was a bad thing that the Uchihas got a lot of spotlight in Part 2 because it's always good to explore about other avenues in a story as the journey progresses.

Which honestly would've made more sense if the story was strictly centered around Sasuke, but that's not the case here.  The story is about Naruto Uzumaki, and to see how little focus we got on his heritage and clan is what annoys me the most since he is supposed to be the main protagonist.

Which honestly he doesn't even really feel like it at times in Part 2 when you compare the journey Naruto goes through vs the development and journey Sasuke goes through. it's like night and day.

Shifting the focus to Naruto & Sasuke isn't a bad thing in Part 2, but as a writer I feel you should place them both on an equal plain field.  Naruto experiences growth, trials and tribulations in his parts of the story, and Sasuke should feel his too when his parts come into the story.

but like i said it really does say a lot when the deuteragonist (in this case, Sasuke) feels more like the protagonist  than the actual main protagonist (in this case, Naruto) himself.

#987378 The Official Pokemon Thread

I had to jump back to the Pokemon bandwagon with Journeys. I didn't care for Sun and Moon arc, because of the artwork, except for bringing back Misty and Brock after how many years! I had managed to watch the entire XYZ saga and that was the peak of the franchise.

Journeys is actually better as it change the dynamics of the anime franchise.  Ash primarily focusing on battling in the World Coronation (deleting the badges concept which went away in Sun and Moon) and Goh wants to capture every Pokemon available and ultimately want to capturing Mew. He then joined Project Mew, with Ash tagging along.

There are pros and cons of this saga:

+ Many of the known characters (Dawn, Iris, Gary, and some upcoming spoilers etc.) came back frequently which is a great decision.

+ Ash and Goh quickly go to any region each episode which is a blessing, instead of staying in one.

+ Team Rocket, mostly, having random Pokemon each time during their schemes.

+ Immediate capturing

- While it may be a pro, but some of Ash's recent Pokemon should had been in his roster ages ago: Gengar, Lucario and Dragonite. Not mention he hadn't capture anything recently.

- Chloe sometimes joining in the boys' adventure when she should had been permanent to keep the three friends' dynamic. Plus it can help the development of her Eevee as it comes and goes.

- Certain characters should had lesser screen time (looking at Korrina, she keeps popping back more than Dawn!).

-The whole capturing process as I put it as a pro, but as a con, it ignores the original "battle first, then capture" except on certain cases. Yeah, I get that this happened because of the Pokemon GO! phase which looks like it becoming a standard now in recent games.

- Also, Goh managed to get rare and legendary Pokemon instead of Ash! That doesn't set well with me.

The art style for Pokemon Sun and Moon is a make or break deal for a lot of people.  I know for me it was definitely hard to watch through at first and even now when I try to watch it I find things kind of jarring to sit through.  From the perspective of the art style anyway, but if it was kept similarly to the say XY/XYZ style I think a lot of people would've been more easy about it.

Other than that,  I think the story of Pokemon Sun and Moon  was pretty decent from what I saw when it first debuted.  A few of my friends have told me that it gets a lot better in the later parts of the story.

As for Pokemon Journeys, I'm still kind of in the beginning of the story for that one, but I am honestly really excited to see the journey (no pun intended lol) of where it leads to where things currently are.   I'm definitely gonna keep the pros and cons in mind once I get around to marathoning the series again from the beginning.   Well after I finish going through my marathon experience of reliving One Piece and to be completely up to date with the anime....  I stopped around Punk Hazard for the anime side of things so it's definitely going to be sometime!

What about Pokemon? As its far better than Bolt.

That is as true as things can honestly get.

Even if we take Black and White into account which is by far the most hated season in the Pokemon anime... As far as I remember anyway.

I've been hearing Iris is getting a lot more love with Journeys, is that true FirstEvil?

The Uzamaki Clan and the Wood release were said to be MASTERS of sealing techniques and yet we see barely any save for the Death god seal.

Random thought, whatever happened to the body Edo Tensei Madara was using after he revived himself? Does it just fade away or discarded? Seems like a fate worse than death.

The stuff with the Uzumaki Clan is something I'm still not gonna get over when it pertains to the timeskip.  I could understand not giving it a lot of focus in Part 1, but come on at the very least we could've gotten an entire arc centered around The Uzumaki clan even if it was like the same length as say The Search for Tsunade Arc.
