A little "what-if" thoughts on Williams: He was rumored several years back to be cast as the Joker in TDK (I found this out just now!! shame on me...). Now, we know how freakin' LEGENDARY Heath's performance was, but it does make me wonder how Williams would've done it. Compared to Ledger, Williams was a seasoned veteran and a Hollywood legend while the young Ledger was still a little wet behind the ears and was just starting to find his footing on the Hollywood stage.
We know that Nolan intended for The Joker to be as psychotically disturbing as possible, and considering Williams' battle with manic depression and bipolar disorder, I actually wonder.... wouldn't he have been able to relate to the character the most? would he have played the part just as well as Ledger did or even better?
It's actually kinda ironic, too. Williams was a Hollywood legend who was passed over for the role, but Ledger himself became a legend on par with Williams (IMO) after his performance on the movie.
The family that couldn't be.
