I'm actually liking Gajeel x Levy it so fracking cute.

That's definitely my new OTP, I adore them. When I first got into Fairy Tail, I started shipping NaLu and although I still love that ship, Gajevy has the better development by far.

I never really shipped those two, primarily because they have even less scenes and development than NaruHina. I always viewed them as 'pairing the spares' if NaruSaku got together. You do bring up some interesting points, though. Their personalities would compliment each other a lot better and the relationship would have potential to be interesting.

i was wondering is Wilderness By: Kanji no Sakka [i'm guessing that's KNS who is a member here lol] done?. it seems i've ran into many NS fics that could have been good but are discontinued, or on hold, or just haven't been updated in forever. i guess that's why many think the NS fandom is dead cause many seem to have just given up

No it's still in progress and I really hope it will get updated. KnS said that she would like to finish the fic but I guess I can understand that it's hard to find inspiration knowing how Naruto ended. But I will keep hoping that we'll get a new chapter eventually, because that's seriously one of the best fic I've read if not the best. There are also a lot of stories I would like to be continued because those are seriously the only thing that made me feel good about Naruto in the past year.

Gruvia moment ftw!!!!

Yeah it was a pretty obvious Gruvia moment, but it didn't excite me that much since I don't care much for them. On the other hand, I can't decide if all this talk between Natsu and Lucy about the future could be considered a NaLu moment because you could interpret it in so many ways?

Haha, did anyone noticed that Gajeel and Levi blanket had the same pattern? Lucy and Juvia still have a long way to go.

Hehehe, nice one. I think the Gajevy relationship is the most obvious one. They don't have that much moments, but it would be easy for them to transition from the friend phase to the couple one.

 

I don't know if you read Rave Master,  but maybe it might go down that path with how Haru discovered that Ellie was actually Resha. I mean Hiro did work on Rave Master and some of the events that are taking place at the moment are almost similar to how the events played out in Rave Master to a certain extent. 

Oh do tell! I really want to know.  In any case, I really hope that, once Lucy is confronted with the whole truth, we'll get not only her, but also NaLu development. I feel like she is one of the closest people to Natsu and that she should play a role in whatever's coming his way.

its something that the old Naruto would do for Sakura.

I know, so sad. I just loved Naruto and Sakura's relationship to pieces and now I like Natsu and Lucy because it's similar in a way. I'm really a sucker for the whole "Love is friendship caught on fire" thing and nobody will convince me otherwise. My favorite ship will always be the one where two people are the closest, have great chemistry and a lot of development. Nothing authors like Kishi do or say can change that.

Oh and how come there's no new chapter yet?

But that's ok - it all works out in the end because he ruined every other good thing about this story too, with Naruto getting the worst of it.

Couldn't agree more, you guys. As many of you already pointed out, I just can never hate the concept of Sakura. She was such a human and relatable character and in the right hands, she could have been turned into a beautiful, wise, strong and mature woman who saw a lot of hardship, but that only made her stronger and made her learn a lot how the world works. What we got is a little girl who is supposed to be a grown-up, but never really let go of all the troubles and flaws that were holding her back as a teenager. She got basically zero development and stayed the way she was. And not developing a character is about the worst you can do to them.

Zeref is easily one of my favorite characters, I love what Hiro is doing with him.

Oh absolutely. When he fist showed up, I just thought he was so annoying and a bit pathetic, but now he's what makes the show interesting to me. I really can't wait to see what happens next, I just can't predict exactly what he wants or what he's planning in that moment.

Juvia has took it to the extreme. I don't hate her but I just find her obsession annoying. Also, she's practically the reason Gray died during GMG and if it wasn't for Ultear Gray would be dead.

Exactly, I mean, I kinda see why people would consider Juvia cute and why they can relate with some part of her personality, but I can't really stand her most of the time. She's basically on Hinata's level when it comes to freaky stalkerish tendencies, and that's saying something. The only thing that makes her a better character is that she is strong and is not a push-over whenever the situation isn't somehow linked to Gray.

That's why I don't really like Gruvia. While I only actively ship NaLU and Gajevy, I like and respect most of the popular pairings in Fairy Tail. Gruvia is just one of those ships about whose future and canon status I don't even care about.

As I have asked for about 9 times, each time a chapter was posted, what was the point of all this? So suddenly Sarada really is Sakura's daughter? I knew this all would end up nothing.

But seriously, even though Kishi was trying to show SasuSaku as this nice love story and explain everything, he actually gave us more ammo to complain about how rotten it is. So we already knew Sasuke was never around, but leaving Sakura after he knocked her up? And then Sakura had to chase after Sasuke while she was 9 months pregnant and deliver her baby in a hideout. Classy. And now even after all this mess and drama he comes back home for only one night. Also, as someone already pointed out, where did the house come from? It was demolished a few chapters ago.

Oh and don't get me started about the whole Sasuke is too cool to say he loves Sakura or kiss her or even admit he cares in any conceivable way. Sasuke, last time I checked you can actually have a baby, heck even a ton of babies, without loving the person you had them with so your comment doesn't really make that much sense.

You know what, I'm not even going to make fun of the chapter this time. Just when I think I'm beyond caring what happens to Naruto... I just saw the flashback and I can't... I just love the series so much back then and I loved it's messages, it just didn't deserve to become this giant mess everyone can only laugh at. 

Well what do you know, this story is actually pretending to have a plot, aside from the soap-opera one. But I'm actually just interested in the resolution of the soap-opera one, even though it's probably clear now that it will accumulate to a whole bunch of nothing. 

But I just loved how Sasuke totally ignored Sarada and her questions. Too bad he actually remembered who she was, it would be so much more fun if he didn't really know.

NaLu doesn't just have the most potential, it has the only potential. Idk where you are in the story, but literally, the pairings jump off the screen at you. The ones that you see are the ones you're gonna get.

I'm basically just starting, but I've read some discussions about it. I understand that they're pretty close and all, but that there's not that much romantic interaction, that it could also be understood in a friendly way. And there's that chick from Natsu's past...

Oh well, NaruSaku also jumped off the screen at me and look what happened with that. Can't blame me for being cautious. 

NaLu is now my One True Pairing ™ but I'm also really cheering for Shiroe/Akatsuki from Log Horizon.  The anime is over and the novels will take a few years to catch up, so it could be ages before that's resolved, hence it not being the OTP.  I just really like that he's the thoughtful tactician and she's his sword(katana) arm.  She even says, quite sincerely, that she's "his ninja."

 

I also like the other "traditional" pairings from Fairy Tail - Gruvia, Jerza, and Galevy.   Gruvia has been seeing the most overt action in the last couple of months of the manga, but NaLu is pretty much being written on every page as well *squee*  

Does NaLu have the most potential in Fairy Tail? I started following the anime and even though I should know better I kinda started shipping them. I know this is a pretty popular pairing, but I'm interested to know what the fans really think because I don't know much of their story yet and I don't want this to end up like NaruSaku as well. 

 

He better not. Any SS child might as well be the anti-christ considering how f-ed up it is. It's like he's the devil, he seduces her, treats her like hell, impregnates her for his own nefarious purposes, leaves to lay with another, and then he returns years later to see the fruits of his labors.

Can't agree with you more! Finding out Sakura is pregnant would be the worst thing ever... It's not like I was hoping Sasuke would finally get what's coming to him, be forced to realize his mistakes and get some kind of punishment... that just doesn't happen in Kishi world. A baby will almost insure that everything will be hunky-dory by the time Sasuke returns to the village again. There's no threat to their relationship you guys. Sasuke even had the time to return to the village once to knock her up. Maybe not see Sarada but ah who cares about her. If that's not commitment I don't know what is!

And I know this manga is slowly turning into a soap-opera, that much is obvious. But I can't believe Kishi would put the oldest soap-opera trope in the book: if she faints, she can only be pregnant! Or have a life-threatening disease Please tell me it isn't so. 

Hey I just figured out why Sarada can't remember Sasuke! Why amnesia of course, which is the second most common occurrence in soap-operas. See, it's not Sasuke's fault at all!

Is it wrong that I'm sort of happy the spin off is focused on the Uchihas...and not on Naruto's domestic felicity?
 
I really expected that everyone else would be dropped from the story except Sasuke as the Jiraiya type (only coming back to the village when a plot twist was needed) and Salada as Bolt's love interest type.
 
I'm actually sort of glad I'm not having more of Naruto's story shoved in my face. I can tolerate Sasuke, but only for Sakura's sake. But more Hinata-worship? Nu-uh. Don't want none of that.

 
Absolutely agree. I've become such a scumbag that I only want to see SasuSaku and NaruHina if they're dysfunctional. That's why I was glad from the start that we were being shown SasuSaku, because it was so obvious that any form of happily ever after for them was very improbable. That being said, realistically NaruHina wouldn't be any better off, but Kishi already proved with his movie that he considered this pairing to be nothing short of perfect, so  doubt we'll see anything bad.
