Yeah I heard that Sega says they won't do a Sonic game unless there's a catch. Like a sword, a weresonic etc...

A sad thing because the Sonic frenchise CAN improve! Hell, look at what Mario, if a mute italian plumber can do it, why can't one coolest video games masscots can do it too?

That definetely seemed to be the case over the past few years with games like Shadow and Sonic 2006, which just felt lifeless. But they've since done away with the old and brought in the new with Sonic Unleashed, and there was definetely more effort put into that game. They even made a new game engine for it.
So, I'm pretty optimistic about the future. ^^ As long as Sega of Japan stops being greedy jerks and gives them the development time they need...

I was wondering why Sonic games weren't up to par in the past five to six years. I guess that explains it in a way...why would someone want to make a game for a series you no longer care about? I have to admit, there are few games in general that catch my eye anymore; I dunno, maybe it's because like most of the people on here, I've lived through one of the greatest gaming eras; the late 90s and early 2000s. Well, that and I grew up with games that to rely on great gameplay over graphics, heh.
Well, I seriously hope something is done about this with Sonic Team and Sega of Japan. I'm still a fan of the Sonic franchise, though I've lost some major interest in the recent titles (although I got Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood, and I enjoy it). Hopefully they can make a good game before it's too late. Either that, or transfer the work of Sonic games over to a new team. If Sonic Team doesn't want to do it, well, I guess it's time for a change.
Still, like I said before, I hope things can improve for the franchise.
