metropolis ain't suppose to be that dark, unless it's gotham they're showing. i hope that's the case.

A lot of people hated the Spiderman reboot.  The only thing I liked was the Gwen Stacey/Peter Parker relationship, it was cute. <3

I'm actually quite curious how Batman would ever be able to beat superman... Some people say certain characters are overpowered, but Superman is just ridiculous.

I'm excited for this--it's a good concept from the beginning that there is controversy over Superman and I guess Batman needs to find out for himself the answer. Considering it's called Dawn of Justice this could be the prequel to a Justice League movie. I'm really hoping it's a good movie.

I've never been a DC guy: can someone point me to the source material so I can kinda situate myself? It looks good, but not as nice as the 2 second teaser for X-Men with Apocalypse.

having his home planet destroyed and his loving parents saving him from the world's destruction is pretty tragic too, i'd say probably more.

that's the source for a lot of the things i see in this trailer. i will admit that i really hate frank miller, so my excitement for this movie is really low.

my take on the trailer is this:

 

on one end half of the city and the world is thankful for superman because he saved metropolis and the world from being destroyed. it's why they built a statue in honor of their savior. they worship him.

 

on the other end half of the city and the world is against the so called savior, because while he did stop a world threat, it came at a price and that price was destruction and death. they fear him and want him to "go home". it's why you see the honored statue being defiled with letters that say "false god".

 

now where does batman come into this? well i think he has spectated this whole thing and has looked at both sides of it. his decision leads up to him confronting superman.

I'm liking a lot of what I see in this trailer but tonally and visually I feel like it's just such a huge leap from Man of Steel. I'm not digging the 300 look to a lot of this. It feels overly brown/ orange in some parts and overly blue in others. I know that a lot of films have loved saturating these two colors in the last decade or two, but the way it's done in the trailer makes it look too hyper-stylistic and video-game-y. I am curious as to why Batman decides to fight Superman... If Superman does (reluctantly or not) take on the role of dictator in a police state, I'm going to quit this franchise. I didn't like his decisions in the first film and this would just basically be like a spit in the face. I loved the Dark Knight Returns, and could justify some of Clark's choices but it's no secret that Miller is not a huge fan of Superman.

 

Batman's designs are AMAZING!
