No, they're ok. They ran out and saw that Konoha was destroyed. It's better if they live so they can hate Naruto for being a stupid idiot.

The real Naruto would find a way out of that situation and save everybody before collapsing into unconsciousness with a big dumb grin on his face. The post-Pain arc version would hit the "save Sasuke" button in a heartbeat and would justify it with some stupid crap like "If I can't save a friend, I can't be hokage!" All the while, Sakura would join, encouraging him to push the save Sasuke button.

Ok that might me wonder, naruto is on the kittenlist now no becoming hokage now and he'll be alone forever now a fitting punishment or til he goes crazy and has kurama take him and he kills everyone. Maybe they'd make sakura hokage since she is more qualified than naruto the village is rebuilt. Also when does this take place before the war or after it and before the last?

Agreed and for a twist sakura gets out alive and kills sasuke and that she was working for jigsaw the whole time. And she'd be shocked that naruto would say that.
If it was real naruto he probably could figure a way out but he'd lose something as escaping a jigsaw trap is not he'd probably lose an eye and other body parts.
I just a had a better twist the jigsaw there is the past naruto who somehow was in brought to the future and saw that awful job he does and deals with his future self in a jigsaw like way and gets with sakura.

Before the war. After he makes the claim he will die with Sasuke after Sasuke tries to kill Sakura. God I hated the way he reacted when Sasuke did that. "She's a member of Team 7 too!" As if it would be alright to kill her if she was the woman he loved, but wasn't a member of Team 7.

I know, right? That entire scene is just BEYOND out of character for everybody. Here Sasuke nearly killed Sakura and Naruto more or less blows it off as not being a big deal. Because he UNDERSTANDS why Sasuke is doing what he's doing. He UNDERSTANDS it all, so it's okay. No anger. Nothing. All we get is one line of dialogue from Naruto that is the equivalent to a parent telling their child to 'cut it out' after seeing said child play with the light switch for a few seconds. What? The real Naruto would've at BARE MINIMUM haymakered the dude through a brick wall before giving him a tongue lashing. It makes you wonder how Naruto would've reacted had he actually killed her.

 

Then the whole "We'll die together" BS. Truly the most aggravating moment in the entire series for me. Even worse than Sakura's character derailment meltdown in 693. This is the guy who never gives up. Who promised he'd bring Sasuke back no matter what. Whose nindo is keeping his word. For the real Naruto, the thought of dying would never even have crossed his mind. And he wouldn't give a damn what some hocus pocus rasengan/chidori clash induced acid trip told him. He's bringing Sasuke back even if it means dragging his ass back and that's final. This is the dude who is not supposed to give a rat's ass about fate (until the author ruined that too anyway). Just as bad is Sakura's reaction as Naruto spouts all of this unhinged horsesh-t. She has no problems with it whatsoever. Instead, she's in awe about it. Her best friend is spouting incoherent bullsh-t about dying alongside the man she claims to love and THIS is her reaction?

Like why did he even bother to save Sakura? If Sasuke killed her, that might make him feel bad and get him redeemed sooner. Since his care for anything else pales in comparison, just let Sakura die.

 

He doesn't even make an attempt to fight Sasuke. The dude just fought with multiple Kage level opponents and a bunch of samurai and kitten. He's probably so kittening tired. Just kick his ass and take him back to Konoha, you moron.

Hence why the comments "Sakura is so useless" pops up. It was thanks to all the actions that happened post-Pain-Arc which Anti-Sakura people use as their evidence.

Plus what you mentioned earlier reminded me exactly what happened in Gaara's Arc. He was dragging himself with his chin in order to beat some sense into Gaara. What happened next? Well, we saw Gaara's change. So it is quite bad to see Naruto be that obsessed with Sasuke.

And say what needs to be said about Itachi, but I did like his talk with Naruto about probably having to kill Sasuke if it means protecting Konoha. I feel like that observation would have delivered a more powerful story and ending that what we got.

And of course, Sakura's words at the end of Part 1 (we'll do this together) went... Pretty much nowhere with this scene.

Sad thing is, if we look at the Burrito series, it would've been better if both of them died, instead what we got was a half-assed epilogue only there to show the new generation, an inchoerent and innecessary gaiden, that just  shows how horrible Sasuke is as a father and husband and THE movie, oh my GOD that kittening movie it the most insulting, cheesy, fanservicy, retconned, idiotic piece of film that I've ever seen or will (hopefully), OH and an insulting one-shot that mocks the hell out of the main's character dream day and reduced it to a G-DAMN punchline to one of his stupid kids that to this point I think has way leess kittening screentime that his own kittening wife had in the series!
God regarding that movie this video is all I think about when it comes to it and mostly all of the series since after the pein arc:

I mean come on , the A-hole just about to kill her few minutes ago , not just once , TWICE!! and she STILL have faith and believe in him??? , that is beyond idiot/stupid , i mean Sasuke just like "Okay you are a medic ninja , you're in but first kill this girl(Karin) , and then when she got close he just attempt to stab her from behind!! , that is  FILTHY LIES!!. I knew i had a bad feeling the moment i saw scene , where Kumo's ninja try to force team 7 to talk about Sasuke and then have a little battle , not only Sakura got kicked like that so easy (talk about the girl who fight thousand of doll from Sasori!?!) , she cry the moment they mention Sasuke join up with Akatsuki. And my bad feeling did comes true with that .... Sakura as heroine just dead.

Watching this always makes me feel better after remembering how Kishimoto forces Naruto to act OoC whenever Sasuke is brought up.

I mean, it's supposed to be like the ending of the first one. The main character realizes that he screwed up by not understanding the situation properly and screams.

 

In the first one they learn that Jigsaw was the guy they thought was a corpse the whole time and he stands up and leaves them in the room to die. So in the story he realizes Sasuke was never really there, he was just a white Zetsu, and now he's destroyed Konoha.

 

It would take a little more effort than I want to use to write a sequel, but probably it would be pretty depressing. Like Naruto just probably killed Sakura's parents because he thinks she loves Sasuke. And for the other Rookie 9 members it's even worse, because for them there's no reason at all they would want to pick Sasuke over him. They'd all beat the kitten out of him.
