I'm really not sure what to say anymore. Did at no point did it occur to the creators of this bullsh** system, that they were going to alienate and piss off EVERYBODY with all their a$$-backwards restrictions and regulations? Did they honestly think that people would just stomach the assault on their privacy, ability to game share, and ability to game period? How do you go from a super successful system like the Xbox 360, to this bullcrap their pulling with the X1? It is BEYOND stupid, and I'm just shaking my head in complete and utter disbelief that any of this is happening. MS doesn't have to worry about Sony slaughtering them, even though that's exactly what's happening...MS has gutted themselves with a butcher knife and are actively stabbing it over...and over...and over again with no apparent need to stop ._.

What really surprises me more is how the Xbox one is still getting pre orders despite the buyers knowing all the restrictions that will be forced on them. I myself wouldn't get an Xbox one even if they were to give it for free.

Nah, I'd definitely take it for free...then turn around and sell it to one of those people who're actually putting down pre-orders for one :fu:

Military folk aren't too pleased about any of this either. They've basically said Microsoft just turned their backs on the entire US military with this. Soldiers love to play their video games in their downtime and when you're deployed to other countries, things like an internet connection can be a pipe dream.

Oh, they knew. They just didn't think it would be this bad. It came out around the reveal that people internally at Microsoft were stunned at just how much it pissed everyone off. They expected the furor to be far smaller and swept under the rug.

THEN STOP PUMPING SO MUCH GODDAMN MONEY INTO THEM, YOU MORON. Seriously, if you're pumping SO MUCH MONEY into a game - like Capcom with Resident Evil 6, where six million copies is considered a disappointment - then maybe you need to re-evaluate a few things.

It's not our fault if a game company can't figure out how to properly run it's damn business. You know, when production costs get out of control or things stop running efficiently... you cut back or streamline things. Not continue on and expect your damn consumer to foot the bill. I swear, video games are the only entertainment medium with people who think like this, or at least with people trying to act on it all the time.

Ha, that would actually get you a ton of money as well, seeing as places like gamestop are getting a 4:1 Ratio of PS4 to Xbox One pre-orders. There might not be a whole lot of them out there at launch. Rumor is Microsoft is behind in development.

http://gimmegimmegam...-with-xbox-one/

And there goes any hope of Microsoft fixing the problems in the near future. They won't admit any wrong doing until they start seeing the

money go elsewhere.

If that's true, don't expect the launch date to be pushed back regardless of that. They rushed the 360 out the door to get a year jump on the competition and we got stuck with the RRoD for it. They're not going to want to give Sony even a few months unopposed, so it'll be interesting to hear if the systems are a broken mess at launch. Microsoft might figure they can patch most serious problems afterwards (unless it's another hardware issue like what caused the RRoD).

Also hilarious: At E3, the PS4 games were demoed on a dev kit, while the X-Box one stuff was seen running off a computer with Nvidia cards.

21 countries where the Xbox One will work, at launch.

Not that I want the system at all, but good to know that even if I bought it I guess it wouldn't work for where I'm at right now. Way to go, Microsoft.

At least, initially.  They'll most likely add more countries, but the damage is done.

@dl.  Jim Sterling's stuff is always a fun read.  His Jimquisition videos are usually pretty funny too.  He rants for us.

His Xbox One video was particularly scathing.

M$ is too closed minded.

Hey, lets screw our fanbase that might have to travel/other countries because why not?

They want to win overseas, start thinking internationally, instead of locally.

I think it's part of the fact that they've straight up given up on Japan. The system sells like ass there and is barely worth the trouble. So, **** all the countries that don't buy tons of the system I guess?

Most of the things didnt cleared up like used games because you wont be able to sell your games ot your friends but rather to retailers who will pay the price they want.

About the RDM you dont need a 24 hours check to see if there's a lot of people using the same disc because when you're going to play online it's already checked.

Hacking the console wont prevent this to happen, and i feel that due to the restrictions the XBOXONE will be the first to be hacked.

You know what I don't understand? If KH 3 and final fantasy 15 were coming for xboxone, why didn't they announced it first?

I think the ones who pre-ordered the Xbox one are either doing in it as a joke to return it for credit or they're probably going to  sell it to someone else for a lower prize just for the heck of it.

Because KH and FF were originally from the Playstation? I dunno, don't really care.

That's what I think. It'd be odd if Xbone announced two of the games that were gonna be PS exclusives. I find it quite funny though from the looks of it, not even these two hyped up titles are gonna save the sales. I still can't believe they're actively screwing themselves over. I mean, what the hell were they thinking when making this console because surely, they're definitely stepping in the wrong direction with some of the crap they're doing on this system.

I still wanna know, though, if anyone else thinks that this explanation of X1's policies is pretty much what Microsoft's always been saying.

I still wanna know, though, if anyone else thinks that this explanation of X1's policies is pretty much what Microsoft's always been saying.

He said basically what is been but still the used games thing persists, you cant sell or trade disc based games with your friends, you can only sell to retailers also you can only share 1 game per friend.

About the kinect he pratically confirmed, the kinect is always on, you cant turn it off while the xbox is on, only if you turn xbox off, which is different than PS4 when the move and eye are optional.

I think XBOXONE would be 399$ if Kinect wasnt mandatory and also when the features came always there's some restriction whitin.

The new policy removes options and restricts resale to approved retailers. It's also another push in the direction of "you don't own your game, you license it, so you have no rights." Additionally, since the publishers will now get a cut, the margins will go down. Retailers will have to offer you even less for your game, and will have to sell them as close to full retail price as possible. It may even destroy the used game market, not to mention get the whole system banned in Europe for circumventing first-sale doctrine.

People use slippery slope arguments all the time, and usually incorrectly, but in this case it's accurate. If this passes through, within 10 years nobody will own their games and nobody will be permitted to resell. There might be benefits to this in the form of lower game prices, but personally I don't place a great deal of faith in the benevolence of publishers.
