I didn't read all the books... but I look forward to the movies.
I'll probably be at the midnight showing though (or at least sometime first day) since my friend is pretty crazy about Harry Potter.
The thing I look forward to most is Emma Watson... yes... I'm one of the many Emma Watson lovers.

Eh, like some have said, I stopped caring about the 4th book, and the 4th movie oddly enough....I'm not really sure, but I think the series for me started getting very eh-ish for me during the 4th book. 6th book left me a bitter taste in the mouth though, and yes, Emma Watson is awesome, which is another reason for me not to see the 6th movie, Hermione there was a tad bit OOC in my opinion.

I'm anxious to know just how much it made in the first day.

Too slow for a 2+ hour movie. Nearly fell asleep.
Romances were all too artificial.
Like shadow_Uzumaki said, Hermione felt pretty OOC in all the Hermione - Ron scenes.
It was long.
Audience laughing at every lame joke didn't help.
Had its good/funny parts... but in the end... I don't think I got my money's worth.

It managed to make $58.4 million (an estimate, still counting in some areas) on the first opening day and they're saying it could make upwards of 150 million for the 5 day opening.

I thought the movie was nicely done. There were certain scenes I wish they had put in the movie from the book, but adaptation was pretty good.
Certain scenes added in, worked fairly well.
And is was long, 2hr 33min to be exact.
