[Zero BD]

If you guys were like me I came into Madoka expecting something new from Shaft. After all, a few blogs were going on about the fact that this was Shaft's ORIGINAL anime based on the magical girl genre. So I was intrigued and decided to give it a few episodes to see if Shaft was really gonna try something new or were they simply just trying to jump on the moe bandwagon. I will tell you one thing about Shaft in concern with Madoka. They did not disappoint.

Episode one already got me hooked not because of how it looked or even the voice actors that were assembled for the characters (Eri is a goddess!). What got me was how dark the content was, I mean c'mon, this is suppose to be a magical girl show! The enemies are something out of nightmares and they fully intend on devouring you. What drove me even more was the dialogue from episode two with the fact that they were really pushing on how even the act of becoming a magical girl (or Puella Magi in the show) there will be consequences. And then what happened in episode three... Everyone who I've been forcing to watch this show really didn't expect something like this to happen in episode three. I really don't wanna spoil it for you guys cause it's one of those things that you gotta see for yourself.

Overall Shaft has figured out a awesome formula for this post moe boom and that's "Make it look moe, make it sound moe, but don't give them moe" and I applaud them. Good work gentlemen.
