I'm late on sharing my thoughts on this, Feburary to May has been pretty crazy on my swing of things, but I'm going to be sharing my thoughts on Alita Battle Angel.
The movie is such a breath of fresh air (no joke), and while Captain Marvel was entertaining... I genuinely felt empathy for Alita throughout this movie to a point where instantly I connected with the character as well as the arc she had. You can tell that Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron were truly passionate about what they were working on, and Rosa Salazar did a phenomenal job with her performance as well as Christoph Waltz as Dr. Ido, and the other actors who portrayed their roles were very decent too. The story itself was also something that really stood out to me in terms of what was offered in how it was handled by Cameron and Rodriguez, and I'm genuinely excited for a sequel. The pacing was the one thing did feel a little off at times, but overall I love this movie!
More than anything I feel Alita: Battle Angel is one of those pure underrated gems that's gonna become a cult classic as time goes by (you can argue it already is), and more than anything Alita as a character can be a great role model too in that respect.
Not saying you have to, but if you guys really want the sequel to become a reality than support the home video release is gonna be the key in all of this:
It comes out on Blu ray and Dvd July 23rd 2019 - a little less than one month!
I know this movie is gonna be a day one purchase for me.
