I thought there would be an advanced Fuuinjutsu pattern behind his mask that if he activates it, he could time travel or something crazy- or just heal himself- Or ANYTHING that's not normal.
Not normal skin with 1 dot.
Plus it's super cliche. In every other anime or manga, there's always 1 person with a mole on their chin. I'd rather it on his nose for originality.

I wish that it should have not been revealed. It was one of the most interesting things about the series, about Kakashi. The way random people used to accidentally hide his face from the camera when he ate, was just too awesome and too funny. It was one of the interesting things about his characters. And the manga had ended anyway, so why reveal it? Damn Kishimoto, anything for $$.
