Yeah... and right on my doorstep, too.
Just my luck.
Oh well, if this is the beginning of the end, I'll make sure to inform the forums of all activity until the day comes. Wish me luck, and hope to see you all when the apocalypse passes over.

That is one hell of a marketing ploy.
Museum business slow? Let's fake a supernatural event so more people will come in to try to figure it out

I don't buy the supernatural explanation (even if I were inclined to suspect that sort of thing, the fact it only seems to turn when people are around seems to suggest something else), but I also don't buy the "differential friction" as the sole reason for the same reason the museum suggests (the "it's been there for 80 years, and this is the first time it's done it). Something else is going on -- perhaps as mundane as the building\floor the display is on settling to now put it unlevel in a suble way or something, which might then lend the friction theory some weight. I would investigate to find out (because some of the possible explanations might reveal things for more academic study, and some might be symptomatic of their being something wrong in the museum, like a maintainance issue or perhaps some newly implimented system for patrons producing vibrations or magnetic fields strong enough to effect exhibits, and some might be both).
Meanwhile, on the off chance it is supernatural, I think I'll start practicing how to use my sword again. Might just come in handy if mummies start rising from the dead or something...
You haven't experienced the full cofusion of modern gender relations until you've heard an angry group of women yelling, "We want tentacles!" at an all-night Hentai-fest.

Well if the next news report says: "Statue blow apart by two men in their 20ies driving a black chevrolet" were all good.
I however will continue practicing my swordsmanship. Just in case.
