Why do I get the feeling like I'm watching home movies when I'm watching this episode with all the flashbacks?

Yeah, they overblow Sakura's fangirling of Sasuke, make her way more tsundere toward Naruto, also weaker and frightened of unscary things (Sakura was never frightened of frogs or toads in the manga, she was quite comfortable around them, in fact). They make Naruto act dumber and make him an object of jokes much more often than Kishimoto did, and they seem to like the more humiliating ways too (getting peed on while he was asleep, stepping in poop, etc...)

I'm so with you, it's amazing how they manage to create more drama and unnatural obsession over Sasuke. There's too much of it in the manga. there really was no need for these flashbacks...

Im afraid I need to disagree with the assessment of this episode and the last one by people. They werent action packed and didnt feature our favorite couple but they were a reasonable couple of episodes in and of themselves.

they were basic build up episodes where our heroes internal monologue is used to push them to action and a decision regarding there friend and now enemy.

Its a straight shot to the next couple of episodes which will be action packed.
