...until later in the day, had to to watch it this morning.

Good episode. The anime quality on Sakura and Naruto was excellent. And the conversations were much smoother than I remember the dialogue from the manga being. (Of course, it's a translation, yadda yadda.) I'm just immensely please it turned out better than the manga instead of worse.

Next up: Here's to hoping her confession won't be botched!

Edit: Forgot, I was pleased to see they interspersed Sai's speech with Sakura flashing back to Naruto's words. She remembers now that he felt about her what she felt about Sasuke. The "I know how you feel because I feel it too" thing. I think it reinforces the truth of her confession later.

Also, I liked her little acceptance of his affections. "If he's foolish enough to like someone like me," with the determined tear-stained eyes. It was sweet and humbling, and more reflective of her feelings, instead of the worn-out 'baka' bit from the manga (what was it the manga had? 'That fool had to go and fall in love with me, so I'll tell him.' Meh.)

I know it's anime, but I tend to think the translated subtitles are a little more faithful to the originals than the fan translated mangas are. lol - Nothing to base this on! thumbsup.gif Be curious to see how it holds up to the official manga too.

I love Sai. Seriously. I remember when I first saw him and pretty much hated him, how I was so wrong.

Confession was awesome. Sai's face was so serious.

That last bit was pretty scary, I'm not going to lie. Madara jumping in yo window, snatching Naruto up.

That was....pretty intense. Sai's confrontation with Sakura was really well done, and the way the flashbacks to young!Naruto were handled made it so poignant....especially when they focused on his mouth/smile during the POAL. My only complaint is with the animation of Sakura shrinking in on herself and lowering her head while Sai talks about how everyone relies too much on Naruto; it was too slow, kind of stilted, and looked like she was deflating.

I loved the way Sakura's lines were said (after she asks Shikamaru to stop); when I read it in the chapter, it always came off as kind of forceful because of her exp​ression--which was odd to me--so hearing it added nice clarity, and made her "I'll tell him 'cause I'm the one he loves" lines a bit sweeter.

For the kages....I'm not gonna lie: I can't take Raikage seriously so far. The voice they gave him sounds really silly whenever he growls or starts yelling "Yooooou!". The animation for Ao hoppin' down next to Mizukage was cool though.
(but zetsu's "helllllllloooo" was hilarious. he seemed drunk the whole time XD )

The way Naruto voiced his confusion with Sasuke--reeeeeally liked the tone of his voice; it's gonna lead into his meltdown really well, I think.

Next week should be good: Madara's comin' through the window, best be watchin' out.

Intense is probably how I'd describe it as well. And as others have said previously, the animation, especially in Naruto and Sakura's scenes, was well executed, and you could really feel the emotion coming from Junko (Naruto) and Chie (Sakura). Now my expectations for 'that moment' have improved a bit.

Also, is it just me, or was that a new audio track playing during the last scene? Can't say I've heard it before, but it's very 'foreboding', it suited the scene well.

Anyway, great ep. all-round, bring on 202.

The episode was beautiful and intense, with better animation than I was expecting. I was honestly tearing up a bit at Sakura's flashbacks of Naruto, they handled that part so well. whatthekitten.gif I thought the music selection was pretty good too.

The last scene with Naruto thinking about Sasuke and Madara popping up out of nowhere was handled well too.

The only issue I had with this episode was what Kushina said - with the one disjointed scene of Sakura's head going down.
