I remember you talking about wanting to see a red head with emerald green eyes, and when I saw the episode, I thought of that post immediately. Not quite emerald, but pretty close imo.

True - but I wasn't expecting a porn actress voice either. Maybe somewhere like Kurenai's or that filler character Guren's?

Kurenai- not nearly commanding enough sounding, way too soft in Japanese. Guren's voice didn't sound commanding either, she sounded like a stereotyped female gang member.

I think Mei's voice was the perfect choice- it fits her job and personality to a T, and this is the one area where the manga creators do get a say- being able to choose a particular voice actor for canon characters and at minimum advising how the character should sound. It's likely this is how Kishimoto wants Terumi Mei to sound. She sounds like a Kage. I think guys in the west (and I noticed it's all guys complaining about the voice) looked at her and saw either a porn star or Barbie doll and are disappointed she doesn't have a voice like either.

Only voice that I didn't imagine really was Aoi. That wasn't hardly as cold and harsh as I had imagined.

I agree he didn't sound like a hardened veteran at all, more like a retired grandfather with 9 grandchildren who once fought a war when he was 22 or something

I don't have a problem with Mei's voice. Though I will admit that when I read her dialogue I couldn't help but imagine her with some kind of seductive-toned voice (though probably not as extreme as a porn-star voice or a barbie-like voice). But that doesn't mean that you don't make a valid point because since Mei is the Mizukage then she should have a commanding voice so that she could be taken seriously as a leader and as a character. I probably imagined her with a seductive voice due to male teenage hormones sub-consciously kicking in (even though she isn't really one of my top choices of attractive female characters(I'm not saying that she isn't attractive though, just not one of my favorite choices,that's all)) and that when I read some characters dialogue I imagine voices that you would find in a fan-made parody (hell, before they showed up in the anime I imagined A's and Onoki's voices to be that of a stereotypical black person and old person with a high-pitched squeaky voice). Plus there's also the fact that I don't pay much attention to the Japanese voices since I'm a fan of the English Dub.


Never the less, it's still a good thing that she has a voice that people can take seriously and that you make a good point. I just hope that the English team at Viz takes the same path that the Japanese team did and hire an English voice actor that can give Mei a strong and commanding voice like in the japanese version.

naruto's confession?? or sakura's? cause remember that sasuke still needs to go to the kage summit and get his butt kicked. and hes not there yet, and naruto needs to have that talk with madara first i think. so naruto saying he loves sakura might come sooner but sakura's confession is far away

I liked the dub. That was until itunes stopped releasing stuff to wait for Disney. Now it's like 150 episodes behind. At an episode a week that's three years before they get close to catching up right now.

I used to watch the dub until the last 20 (filler) episodes of part 1 they hadn't aired yet so I went over to the sub and now I hate dubs.
Probably because the voices didn't mature at all in part 2 they sound like 16y olds with voices of 12y olds.

The indirect one is definitely going to be in 200 - what Yamato is saying in the preview takes place after that moment. Not only that, but pacing wise, it should be covered in episode 200 as well.

Sorry in advance if I misunderstood you and you were actually saying that the other moment being mentioned would take place in 201 (which I do agree with).

They don't always follow the exact order of the conversations if it's not that important which one takes place first (conversations that don't have anything to do with each other I think. Which is here the case)
