Yeah, sometimes Viz translates things better than the fan translations (like one of Sakura's lines at the end of 632 - it said something like "don't concentrate on the little things" while both Mangapanda and Mangastream had something completely different, the hell?), but overall I prefer the fan translations... I want it to be as close to the original as possible, and Viz isn't always that.

 

I loved that scene.  so cute. I was wondering if you could also translate this, please? 

I get the gist of what it says but I want to know a better translation of those words. ^^

Well, translating word for word isn't always the best case, and many times it can't be so. Translators don't just translate words, they have to translate the "feel", the implications, etc. 

 

And sure, this scene is Sakura's relationship with Naruto.

"She herself doesn't really understand her thoughts/feelings towards Naruto. She really likes Sasuke but, if you notice, she is also looking at Naruto. Right now, it doesn't seem to be love but, perhaps there maybe a chance!?!?!?!??!"

Okay so Sai dying in this fight did cross my mind but I like to think Kishi is setting up for the grand epic team 7 vs enemy battle. I really want to see team 7 doing team things. I love Sai (T_T), if there won't be a team 7 battle then this war has to enddddd.

I always saw Mikoto as a female Sasuke version but yeah her long hair reminds me of Sakura from part 1 but that's it.

When she tells Sasuke to study she also resemble Karin a little but I honestly don't care that much.

What is the official translation for the panel where Naruto is amazed by Sakura's chakra control when they have to climb up the tree? You know the scene in part 1 that was also put in one of the Shippuuden episode during Naruto's rasenshuriken training.

 

I don't have official translations from Viz, but I have the Japanese。The only chapter I can think of is from chapter 18. Is this the scene you are looking for? I try for a smooth translation.

They did supported each other, but huge amount of the moments where Sakura supported him, she kept it by herself not saying it out of loud or showing it him.

True, but how does that make NH more justifiable than NS in part one?

I have a question: 

小娘 means also "lass" and I saw in google translation that it's a synonym of "girlfriend", "sweetheart".

So? Is this an error or what? Because if not, we couldn't even counter the romantic aspect of NH argument. Even if we know it is "young girl" and not "girlfriend" meaning, they will take the girlfriend meaning.

Naruto has never really loved Sakura because :
 
-He didnt defend her against Rock Lee when he was sending kisses to her at the chuunin exam...
-He let Sakura fighting Sasori alone (even if Chiyo was there) JUSTso he can follow Gaaras dead body...
-He followed Orochimaru at the bridge, while Sakura was falling in the canyon instead of helping her...
-Naruto never said i twas for Sakura that he wanted to bring Sasuke back...
 
And heres the best part :
-Sakura is more distant from Naruto in part 2 and even their common will to bring Sasuke back doesnt make them closer...

This post is so true! He trusts in her strength to fight her own battles, clearly he doesn't love her! The promise of a life time never happened, it was a joke! They spent absolutely no time together in part 2!

This is not an NH argument. It is an anti-NS argument. It has nothing to do with validating NH. I...couldn't take this seriously. Everyone on the site could refute the claim that "Naruto doesn't love Sakura" ten times over. My opinion is that Naruto's love for Sakura cannot be argued. My evidence is a manga called "Naruto" by Masashi Kishimoto.

Man, I really like Rin. I really like young Obito. I love them all. They are so precious!

 

Although it is the first time that we know that Obito had no parents, I thought contextually it all fit, so it was unsurprising, and it didn't matter whether it was brought up or not in the past. "Let's make Naruto and Obito even more similar to each other". Really as of now I don't see the point of the information except that it parallels to Naruto's life. I can't stand this whole Rin - Hinata thing and it's not about NH. It's been in our faces over and over how Hinata "staying by Naruto's side" is her own selfish desire. Rin's is nothing like that. Okay, I think Kishi is trying REALLY HARD to keep things neutral right now, although I don't see the point because it is clearly very Rin - Sakura, I don't think there is any arguing in that. I think it's possible that Sakura isn't paralleled to Rin in a way that someone else is paralleling them (like Naruto saying "I also have a girl that I love..."), but I feel that her actions and words will be very much like Rin's. 

 

I'm very much in love with Rin's "I'm watching you" to Obito. It's so sweet. If I was Obito I'd have fallen for her as well. I don't really have anything negative to say to anyone. I'm tired of looking at things negatively and it takes a lot of energy. I like the Obito/Rin scenes.   I like Rin. How cute is she. I can't get over it haha.

 

I really feel that there are a few possible routes in the next chapter.

1. Bito doesn't the hand and does something crazy
2. Bito is going to take the hand and then Madara does something crazy
3. Sasuke things, Kakashi things

I think there are 3? 4? more chapters in this volume.

@ megi: There is one thing I don't understand in your translation. Why are you so sure that it's not just a dattebayo interrupted? Because in the next panel after the datte (だって), Naruto screams Baa! (ばあ!) while Sakura was hitting him. But if you're right, then I see no problem in the datte translation, I understand that there is nothing negative about it. 

And about the interview, it was just Nakamura et Takeuchi. They were giving their impressions about the RTN movie.

 

It is with certainty not dattebayo. There is a pause after ending the sentence. It wouldn't make sense at all. 

まあ、そんな感じだって(…)

meaning that Sakura takes time to register what Naruto said.

It doesn't really make any changes to the translation if it was dattebayo, but it is definitely not. 

 

 

Also! The chapter does come out this Tuesday I believe!

 

As for whether Sasuke will be leaving Konoha or staying in Konoha at the end of the manga, I'm going to have to go with Sasuke staying. If he was going to make amends for his crimes, he would be doing it with Naruto at his side. I think it's really important for the story for him to come back to Konoha in the end.

 

Dang it. I still don't like this idea, but well. You can't always win.

I'm wondering Darkness, why you do not like this idea? Actually I've seen the argument that people see the って from Naruto as potentially being some sort of negative or "joking" jab at Sakura's confession, which of course isn't the case (I just saw this as generally the case). The argument saying that Naruto brought it up (her confession) to "paraphrase it" with heavy implication that he is joking with her (due to the next chapter I believe). But this is an argument that has no backing in it whatsoever. I think that it is okay that people believe that Naruto may have said it in reference to her past confession, I see it as something possible because the sentence left that part ambiguous. But for him to use it as something negative is taking things out of context.

 

I do stand by my translation as only being "Well, something like that..." but I can offer another viewpoint of the scene that I think is a lot more smoother than "quoting" Sakura. More...natural? I really like this best, but if someone was to ask me to add the "tte" into my translation for this scene specifically, I would use the translation above. I would not use "she said/ it is said/ etc."

Well, you can say it is something like that.

 

and of course the it is referencing Minato's girlfriend comment. I'm okay with this translation as well. And in this case it is more direct like "Yes you can say that she is my girlfriend" as opposed to the very indirect "Yes it was said that she's something like my girlfriend" hahaha, sorry if I'm not making any sense I'm trying to explain it best as possible. Really I think it all means the same thing, it's hard to twist it to make some other meaning. I think it's something really simple as this and nothing intricate.

 

Clearly the scene is very NaruSaku!

Well my first thought was that Sakura is not a part of the "power of friendship" combo was because she is already doing something. I'm looking forward to what will happen in the future. But it was just so strange...everyone in the Kyuubi cloak...really strange. I find it hard to believe that people actually think that Sakura's being left out or tossed into the corner for this chapter. 

 

My favorite part of the chapter would have to be Obito's imagination at the end. Despite this being the different path that he could have taken after Rin's death, he doesn't seem happy. It just felt really solemn when I saw him in the Hokage robes. Besides that, the chapter was okay. Isn't this the fourth chapter of the volume? The next one should be the middle of this volume I believe...Once again I'm going to try and summon an appearance of Yamato with the sheer force of my will. I will not rest until I see the full team 7 together in a boyband pose.

Do you know how they reacted back in Japan when chapter 540 (the one where Sakura depressingly thinks of Sasuke) came out? What's the opinion of neutral or NS fans back there?

 

Do they think Sakura shouldn't be thinking of Sasuke? Do they think it makes sense because despite her confession to Naruto the one she think about regarding love is Sasuke? Do they think her being depressed means she doesn't like the idea of loving Sasuke?

 

You don't have to answer each question specifically, just a general idea of the opinion there would be fine, but only if it's possible. If not, then maybe what they think of chapter 635 (where Sakura fake smiled about trusting Sasuke).

 

It's been a few years since that chapter right haha? I had to read it over, and I'm sure the majority of people were more concerned how Sakura would deal with the fake-Neji than her thoughts with Sasuke. It's natural seeing as what happened during her confession. No one says it is a positive thought... but it isn't surprising. I think a lot of people scream "get over Sasuke", but it's Sakura and she's complicated. Clearly there is turmoil in her face when she thinks of him. Kishi is trying to show that it is negative. Although people wonder what about Sasuke that keeps her hung over him. Apologies for not having a lot of information  *_* it's been long, and I don't have time to look further into it. 

 

Also what sad news about Kisame's VA. RIP.
