You know this small interview just confirms in my mind that Kishi definitely became obsessed with "Popularity" over the years.

 

That's why the War Arc was pretty much just a Cesspool of "Power-ups", because that's what he thought would make the series more popular (By imitating DBZ instead of using his own imagination).

 

And then by the ending, where he pretty much sold out to what he was "Told" would make the series more popular.

All I ask is that Horikoshi not repeat kishi's mistake. Giving up at the end and letting other tell him what to do. BNHA is is really getting me excited and I hope that Horikoshi is doing all the work for it. That is not to say he shouldn't listen to his editors but they shouldn't be the ones running his series and coming up with the ideas. It should be his ideas and they just give him good advice and proper guidance with their experience

Huh? Is Kosuke Yahagi the same Yahagi that was kishi editor? Cause if he is he the editors-in-chief of Jump Square. Oh he was the founding editor of Naruto. So yes. Explains why he left got promoted.
