2009 is turning out to be an awesome year for fighters. SFIV, KoF XII, Tekken 6, etc. I hadn't heard of BlazBlue until recently, but I'm really glad I didn't miss it. It's been in Japanese arcades, but only recently ported to PS3/360 (released last week in the US/CAN, I believe). As a Guilty Gear fan, it look's like an awesome successor.

http://www.aksysgames.com/blazblue/

INFO:
"BlazBlue is an HD 2D Fighting Game by Arc System Works, makers of the critically lauded Guilty Gear series. BlazBlue is the spiritual successor to Guilty Gear, sharing its ideals of crazy characters, crazy attacks, gorgeous graphics, and an amazingly deep and fun fighting experience."

ENGLISH TRAILER --Click here to view--

GAMEPLAY MONTAGE --Click here to view--

ADDITIONS FOR THE CONSOLE VERSION:

Astral Finishes: All characters now have Astral Finishes in the console release.

Story Mode: The console release includes a fully-fleshed out 30 hour long Story Mode that tells the tales of each character. The story is told using large character drawings and full voice acting.

Online Multiplayer: BlazBlue will have online multiplayer. Currently, BlazBlue's feature set for online is potentially superior to any other fighter. You can set the room name, lobby capacity, # of spectators, rotation type, number of rounds, round time, astral heat, easy specials, voice chat, skill level, and connection quality. Plus, you can download replays of matches.

Easy Specials: Similar to Capcom vs SNK 2 EO, beginners can use the right-analog stick to perform special moves. This can be turned off.

Dual Audio: Japanese and English voices are available for both regions.

Training mode: Pretty much a standard at this point, the console release has it.

New Art: New opening, new backgrounds, and new colors for characters.

PSP Remote Play:
The PS3 version of the the game supports remote play. The game is fully playable using the PSP since a second analog stick and extra shoulders buttons are not required.

"Limited Edition" first-run: First shipment(shipments?) are limted edition sets, containing a 42-track soundtrack & bonus dvd/blu-ray with tutorials, advice, and expert strategies for each character

I was playing this earlier today at my friends house.

On a plasma screen this games looks just absolutely stunning especially since it's so fast paced. And its pretty easy to learn since I got the hang of it in about half an hour. Attacking and blocking just came second nature once you get a feel for it and the finishing moves are just awesome. Favorite characters so far are Noel and Rachel.

I'm definitely looking to get it for myself when I have the cash.

I heard many people said they like it. Even though I'm a fighting gamer, the characters' designs turn me off for some reason when I first saw it. The same thing happen to when I heard of Guilty Gear. I hope BlazBlue will get success near popular titles like SF and Tekken.

I bought this game on the 4th of July and it's awesome. As a Guilty Gear fan myself it was easy for me to get into. The three characters I'm good with are Ragna, Jin, and Haku-Men. If any of you wanna take me on send me a message over Xbox Live.
Spock it, lock it, rocket, explode it, reload it.

Ahh BlazBlue is amazing. I love the pacing and the artwork. NO 3d game can compete with a 2d game done right. I bought it for the PS3 if you wanna fight my PSN tag is Sykox300x. Send a friend request. Im new I just got it, but I think I can hang.

The intro was great & it's just as good as GG's. As for the story, I think BlazBlue is far more superior. & oh, now that I think about it, the story deeply involves Ragna & Noel (hint: at the credits there's Noel's guns in the background). I sure hope they can make a sequel. The story is definitely a big cliffhanger which is a BIG plus for this game/franchise. & oh BTW, is Noel Ragna's sister? (I sure hope not 'cuz I don't want it to turn into a wincest pairing.. shamefulcry0js.gif arg.gif ) I think they're the best couple ever in a fighting game. (unless someone else comes along) & lastly, I have a very good theory: First of all, Rachel summoned her Tsukuyomi & deflected that thing's attack from above. Now, in my observation this feels like a bit of a rip-off from Naruto. First, Tsukuyomi is the name of Itachi's genjutsu. When you use a genjutsu in general, it's to delay your opponent's movement & attack or escape. So, basically you're on the defensive which is fitting for Rachel's Tsukuyomi. Next, we have Amaterasu. Personally I think it's gonna be Ragna's why? as we all know Amaterasu in Naruto is said to be the strongest offensive technique. & Amaterasu means the Sun God in Japanese (I think) what is associated with the sun? Fire. & what's the color of fire? you get the idea. & Last, Noel mentions something about Susano'o. IMO, Noel is gonna be a VERY vital character (in fact, she might even BE the main character) in the sequel. AND Susano'o might be the key to it all. it might be even the real name of the Azure Grimoire. As we all know, Itachi's Susano'o is the ultimate seal technique other than the Shiki Fuujin. So, in other words Susano'o would be Noel's to "seal" that monster from above.

" NINJA GAIDEN , TORA CHIJU! "

" BREAK THE BONE! BREAK THE BONE! SORAKI! SORAKI! "

Bang is the real reason you bought this game and you know it. Mecha anime theme song? Overall taking the ninja stereotype down the drain? Over-dramatic voice actor?

BURNING BANG!!!!!

LAWLWUT AT THE NARUTO REFERENCING. I ain't joking when I lawlwut. I google things.

But You have to admit that it is FAR too coincidental & if you look closely, it just might be true....

BTW, if you had to choose, which one would you pick? The busty, feisty Millia or the Shy Moe Noel? (for me, I'd pick Noel her character design is great if not better than Millia)

Are you also talking about my recent topic in Naruto General? 'cuz that was just a theory. I have a right to speak my mind about theories man. If you don't like it, you might as well ask a mod to ban me or delete that post.....

On another note, can someone explain to me what the heck is GOING on here???:

QUOTE
Jin is actually Hakumen from a different timeline.

It is the result of Jin jumping into the "Cauldron" to follow Ragna and Nu-13, traveling back to 100 years in the past.

Ragna and Nu-13 succesfully merged, and became a being known as the "Black Beast" that wiped out about half of the world's population.

A wounded Jin was found by Rachel, and offered him a chance to become a REAL hero, she gave him her Susano'o unit, and Jin a became white, cyborg-like Samurai, and named himself Hakumen(White Mask).

And together with the 5 other legendary heroes, they defeated the Black Beast and sealed it. It is also speculated that Hakumen is the one who delivered the Killing Blow to the Black Beast.

However, because of the BlazBlue's True Ending, and I really mean the TRUE ENDING, it is not possible for Jin to become Hakumen anymore due to the fact that Noel saved Ragna from Nu-13, thus preventing him from jumping into the Cauldron and merging with Nu-13 to become the Black Beast, thus Jin doesn't jump into the Cauldron to follow them to the 100 years back in the past.

Jin is Hakumen, but at the same time, he is not Hakumen.

You can refer to Hakumen as an alternate timeline form of Jin Kisaragi, they were able to co-exist with each other.

Much like the case with Sol Badguy and Order-Sol in Guilty Gear, but with slight differences.

One can't ignore the fact that both of them have a completely different personality. Jin has his Psychosis because of his sword, thus not caring about what is Good or Evil. But, Hakumen is different, he doesn't have the original Jin's sword, that's why he is much like Ky Kiske, he upholds justice, along with his famous line: "This sword will purify the world of sin, and vanquish that which is evil."

One can also conclude that Jin Kisaragi is a completely different person without his sword - The Nox Nyctores: Yukianesa

Wouldn't this create a nutty time paradox? unsure.gif wacko.gif

EDIT: OK, I deleted my earlier post, If I offended you, then I apologize

Have you seen that movie, Return to the Future? Or the TV show Doctor Who?

Pretty much time , the overall universal idea of it, is made of different strings. It's not just one LINE. It's several. Like. Situational events that link up with the different possibilities existant in everyone of us.

For example. What if Jin wasn't a stuck up whiner boy? What if he was teleported into the future and transformed into....well. A stuck up whiner robot guy with a japanese samurai-rock song for a theme? And then there's the inner belongings in the ACTUAL storyline.

Like previous mentioned , with the whole character and situational events ,you can get the normal ending...or the TRUE ENDING , both of them are canon in a way , considering the existance of Hakuman. And the fact you can play him.

Did I make myself clear? I think I should shoop something just for zeh lols.
