Like everyone said, I am so proud to be a part of this community too.

It's crazy, a week or two ago, I took everything for granted. I thought NS would be revealed and we'd see an influx of old members celebrating and new trolls bashing after the big moment. I thought the site would be like a few of the ATLA sites after the end — like a slowly closing party. And I thought that finishing my fanfics might be a little anti-climactic after the big NS moments in the manga.

But it's become a whiplash change. Old members did ring in, but to express their disbelief. Trolls came to gloat. And this site became a necessity. I KNEW I could come here and share and grieve and dissect the scenes and share in my disbelief. In one moment, everything changed.

It's heartening to know that everyone feels the same, and that our community is worth preserving and protecting!  *hugs* :glomp:

edit: Oh yeah, as for finishing my fanfics, it's now an act of defiance. I need to finish telling my story of what I think could happen in the Narutoverse not because it's a flight of fancy, but because it's my way of taking back NS and giving it an ending that I can be happy with and move on from. Kishi didn't do right by his characters. But I will do right by mine.

All of this is good, especially since I know the feeling; this idea of an alternate path to events is why I want to work on my own Naruto story, The Demon Within, and not because of petty spite, but more to tell a DIFFERENT way the story could have potentially gone and to have some fun :)

Great post, Tricksie!

I'm pretty disappointed by the ending, but I'm still a fan of NaruSaku.

I've been unimpressed by the writing for a couple hundred chapters now and with relationships pushed to the background, I was starting to think that it'd be an open ending. And that even if it was NaruSaku, it would be anticlimactic and feel rushed, mostly having to rely on development from hundreds of chapters ago..

I felt kinda like I'd ordered a pizza and that it was hours late. Whatever came was going to be cold and I'd already heated up a frozen pizza, but I was still looking forward to the pizza. And now that the pizza has finally arrived, it's even colder and more stale than I thought, but worse, they got all the toppings wrong. Anchovies?! Blech!

OTOH, being late doesn't matter quite so much when they get the order so completely wrong.

I don't regret being a NaruSaku fan and I still enjoyed the first part and a decent chunk post-time skip. And I'm grateful that Kishi wrote a relationship between the two of them that has inspired so much fantastic fanart and fanfiction. I'll keep on enjoying those fanarts and fanfics, and I expect new ones to keep coming out.

But I am feeling a bit burned and don't plan on reading or watching anything new from Kishi though.

I agree with you 100%, Tricksie!! Thank you so much! I was really upset over the ending, but banding together with other NaruSaku fans here, and on facebook and tumblr, have really helped me heal, and it's made me realize that even though Kishimoto may have killed NaruSaku in his story, doesn't mean that it's dead! He gave it so much life that it's living on beyond the life that he gave it originally, and it's up to us, the fandom, to realize the full potential of that amazing ship that he never canonized :) To me, fanfiction, fanarts, and the moments from the manga will live on as MY NaruSaku canon. Thank you all for being such an amazing community <3

I agree with you, this is what we need at the moment. Well done posting this.

Seriously, I was getting fed up of the ''get over it'', and ''let it go'', this isn't Frozen, why should I give up on my favorite ending? do I even need your negative response? are you even a NS shipper?

Lets just make this vow, and keep everything positive. Thanks a lot Tricksie for posting this.

Tricksie's the best. PERIOD.

You guys are THE BEST. If it weren't for this great community — the members, both new and old, all the other mods/admins, and especially Smiter! — then it would have been so much harder to take this awful awful ending.

We're all so fortunate to have this place to celebrate the pairing we love!

Count me in on this vow as well, I really need this site now.

I used to only come in to check on the fic threads and to see what others thought of released chapters

Now I check the forum 6-7 times a day.

H&E, thx for the support and stay strong!  :thumb:
