WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? SS is clearly what's keeping Burrito afloat, it could never fail  :umm:

If you don't understand Japanese, doesn't live in Japan too and neither is  willing to make a 5 minutes research about Yahagi. Then don't try to demand the japanese knowledge for me.    :zaru:

Yahagi wanked Sasuke much more than any new editor ever  favored Hinata simply as that.

Sakura was being a brat insulting orphans and her parents and Sasuke call out her attention?
He is a abusive kitten.  :fu:

Don't try to excuse Gaara. He deserves death like everyone and never should become the Kazekage.
If you hate Sasuke because that, you should hate Gaara too.
He killed thousends of people of his own Village and tried to destroy Konoha with Shukaku. Gaara was still aware of his actions. He just didn't think it was wrong, or didn't care because he'd established he only cared about himself.
The only difference was that Gaara's decline to insanity, and his conversion, was quick, while Sasuke's fall and redemption was slower. Sasuke couldn't be easily converted because he still retained a mindset, which continued to reason against Naruto's advances until the end of the manga in their final battle.

Itachi and Obito commited true genocides. But Kishimoto made sure to reendem and still wanks Itachi/Obito ignoring their crimes before and after their deaths.
Sasuke  wanted to destroy Konoha and he simply gave up his plan before killing any Konoha citizen. Kishimoto never allowed Sasuke to become a true killer outside the murder attempts in Kage Summit.
Sasuke was the deuteragonist,  the only character who constantly ranked #1 and one of the franchise symbols. Kill him is not the same thing as killing generic Uchiha villains like Obito and Madara who are destined to die. Thats why Kishimoto refused any idea with his death at the time. Killing Sasuke it's the same as imagine  Dragon Ball Super without Vegeta. Sasuke is necessary in any project relating Naruto's future.

Karin? SK and Karin is much more more kittened up than SS and Sakura. Karin doesn't  have a fandom.
She was out of top 60 in the poll.  She can disappear in a hole and nobody will cares. Put Sasuke and Karin never will have any effect.  Sakura was the only possible option for Sasuke after NH.   Plus SS fandom demanded that.

Then you should try to demand the current SS/Sakura fandom and new fans to stop to  support  Sakura and convice them of how Sakura is ruinned...Because of them Kishimoto is satisfied with how he wrote Sakura character and her ending.

Boruto's manga isn't the same thing as secondary novels and merchs.Sakura/SS doesn't exist in Boruto manga.  She disappeared during 4 or 5 years and counting. But they are satisfy to milk the current SS fandom and produce spin offs, novels and merch about them...
Much more than any other current character or couple and this produced  very  goods results in Sakura's popularity.

Kishimoto barely have time to pass time with his wife and sons when he was writing the Manga.
So he wanted to retract the same problem with Sasuke in Gaiden and after Naruto in Movie.
Thats why the secondary cast have better marriages. Not because he Hates SS/NH.
Kishimoto probably thought he was a genius for doing that.

This is another reason for Boruto's fiasco. Ikemoto ruinned the only new Uchiha in the Next Gen. Do you think SS/Sakura/Sasuke and Uchiha fans supports or even cares about Sarada in Boruto manga?

Everybody wanted to see a New Sasuke, itachi or at least the Gaiden Sarada.   Sarada was reduced to hooker fanservice and a pairing fodder in Boruto manga.

I'm not the one claiming that Japanese Naruto fans believe something that I've provided no evidence for. You made that claim, so maybe you should IDK, support it instead of getting pissy because no one will take your word for it.

You: 9c9.gif

You said "Oh there was no issue with Sasusaku in part one!!" I showed you numerous issues and instead of admitting that there WERE ISSUES you deflect and make it all Sakura's fault  :zaru: typical.

Oh no, Gaara killed people in his own village who were literally trying to kill him, when he essentially had split personalities and nearly no ability/will to control it after being deprived of ANY affection or value other than a weapon? And where did you get "He killed thousands of his own villagers" from? Literally, that exact number. Oh, let me guess you made it up too. Sasuke and Gaara are two different characters, and despite what you think--Sasuke HAD CHOICES. He actually had people who cared about him. He could have pursued his revenge within the village, but he was a jealous little kitten and greedy for power and said kitten'em instead. And he continues to kitten THEM all through the series.

Gaara spent his whole life just trying to avoid getting murdered by his own family, looked at Naruto, whose life was similar, saw a better way and decided to get a handle on himself. Sasuke had a family, knew what it was to be loved, lost his family, had NEW PEOPLE come into his life and make him happy and then threw it all away like a prick.

He killed Danzo, blew a hole through Karin (what did SHE do to deserve that? not a damn thing.) Tried to merk Kakashi, Sakura and Naruto (again) Tries merking a bunch of other Kage, potentially causing another ninja war and leading to an untold number of deaths but noo its totally good and relatable writing for none of them to have lasting issues with this.

Why does Karin's popularity matter in regards to Sasuke having a spinoff baby with her? It doesn't. Its still a Uchiha. And since she has no fandom, it doesn't matter what Sasuke does to her or how unhealthy it is. Sasuke being a hermit was an option. Sasuke meeting some random unknown woman was an option. ANYTHING was an option if Kishimoto wrote.

Again, its like the only thing that matters to you is "Popularity." You'd probably lick an electrical socket if you thought it was popular.  have you considered that SS isn't being carried by SS shippers but by people who just love Sakura? It wouldn't matter WHO she was with, what matters is that SAKURA is in the pairing.

Yea, I'm sure Kishimoto's kids don't know what their dad looks like and question their mom if they're actually married too. I'm sure some random guy is keeping his kids umbilic cords and his own wife can't remember if he wears glasses or not and faints "All the time" as well.

He shouldn't be satisfied because he did a kitten job.

Most of Sakura's merchandise isn't even tied to Sasuke, it's solo, grouped as team 7 packs or more amusingly; paired with Sasori.

Sasuke was more a Yahagi idea than Kishimoto. Do you undertand Japonese?  you're  free to go Japonese forums and search that or look in Reedit about people who do that. Any article or analyses about Yahagi is clearly to say how he favoreced Sasuke story over Naruto in his period.

You know Sasuke need a great reality chock to abandon  the village right and plot move on to Part 2 right? Itachi's torture and Naruto's fight ot the hospital root were that trigger. At least you regonize how Naruto and Sasuke together almost killed Sakura in roof.

In Part 1 the only bad SS scene was Sasuke slapping  the apples for Sakura's hand but not so long after that you have chapter 181. If some NS fans blame Kishi's new editors for Hinata importance and declaration.  They should blame Yahagi for Sasuke's favoritism, SS in part 1 and chapter 181. It's not a coincidence why SS fandom grown much bigger than NS/NH in Japan and during part 1.

This isn't a solo problem related to Sasuke.
Kishimoto will make every redeem character be forgeted for everything: Gaara, Nagato, Itachi and even Obito who is the most ridiculous exemple of a redemption in a manga. Obito killed 40.000 people, Killed Minato and Kushina, Killed Neji and some hours later Naruto was calling him the coolest guy.

More than anything Yahagi never would allow Kishimoto to ruin Sasuke in Kage Summit period and he would have a much better redemption.

Actually you can apply the same logic to end of the manga.  Kishimoto need Sasuke and SS for Part 3.

Kishimoto needed Sasuke alive because he  and the Uchihas are a easily cash cow and Another Uchiha Child  with Sakura for Part 3? Unstoppable
It's much better than Sasuke death or put Sakura's with lee or alone while Naruto got the byakugan princess

So no, you didn't live in Japan, You don't understand japanese but you DO just spout off whatever you want and claim it as fact  :zaru:  thanks for clearing that up. Yahagi telling Kishimoto to create a rival for Naruto doesn't equal "YAHAGI IS A FANBOY." I recognize lots of things you refuse to.

Oh yes, that was the ONLY bad SS scene. I mean, the scene where Sasuke tells Sakura to GTFO out of his face after she complains about her parents and Naruto wasn't bad at all. Sasuke telling Sakura to keep her mouth shut about the curse seal or he'd never forgive her, also not bad at all. Nope, these two had no problems at all.

Did I say it was a problem relegated to only Sasuke? The difference is all those other characters got what they deserved. Death. (Except Gaara who you seem to conveniently forget was a child at the time of his "Crimes" and actually turned his life around and NOT in the 11th hour. like Obito or Itachi who only did it after he was already dead.)

Sasuke could have had a kid with Karin, whose already shown she's more or less a masochist, so having a hole blown through her by him was a-okay.

Its apparently not unstoppable since the sales blow. There was no reason from a story telling point that it HAD to be Sakura other than outside pressure. Where as NH lacks development, SS has it in spades, but all in a negative spectrum.

Ah yes, the complete destruction of Sakura's character and evolution from a Sasuke fangirl into a strong, capable, mature woman is soooo much better than her being alone. Because like, women are defined by their relationships (according to you and Kishimoto.) No, no, no we wouldn't want her to be with someone whose actually shown an interest in her and hasn't treated her like kitten. Women are meant to be obsessed with looks and sit around waiting for their husband to spare them 20secs every 12 years.

According to you, everything is the fault of Ikemoto. It is all his fault, no one & nothing else is to blame, for anything, and if they just made Kishimoto the mangaka again; all will be fixed. Of course if they did that and it flops; you'll come out with another excuse.

SS happen to put Sakura somewhere after she was too hated to be the love interest/heroine. Sarada exist to be Boruto love interest made by Kishimoto. All she did in the Kishimoto approved sequel is constantly be questioned if she loved Boruto and beg her father to protect him.

No one can honestly read Sarada Gaiden and think that Kishimoto WASN'T mocking Sakura and SS. The whole thing kind of drips with contempt. Not necessarily FOR Sakura but because of what he felt he was forced to do to her. "Oh "everyone" wanted SS so bad? Okay let me show you how "wonderful" it is." and what we get is a disgusting mess of an absentee father, overworked mother and a confused, suffering child.

The other day I was rolling around the internet and I came across some Manga panel of Salad, Sumire and Ada having some weird sleepover and all being in bed together discussing their crushes like its some kittening shoujo. And Salad is still dressed like a hooker.  :argh:

Yahagi was much more a Sasuke fanboy than Kishimoto.

Japoneses fans regonizes that.

During Yahagi supervision Naruto becomed a side Character and Sasuke the protagonist. Also Yahagi was responsible for Sasuke giant popularity at the time when Sasuke constantly ranked #1 and SS  scenes over NS in Part 1.

Created SS scenes like Sasuke's death. Forest of death arc, hospital hug and personally helped Kishimoto to make 181 chapter.
- He made Sasuke defeat Naruto's at the end of Part 1.
- He made Sasuke humiliate Naruto in the reencounter in Part 2.
- Yahagi was the one who shortened the immortal arc because he wanted to bring Sasuke back as soon as possible.
- Created a entire giant arc for Sasuke when Sasuke create a team and defeats Orochimaru, Deidara and Itachi with cool technics and fights while Naruto can't even defeat a single snake of Orochimaru.

Probably Yahagi wouldn't allow Kishimoto to make the Fake Confession or transform Sasuke in a crazy Uchiha and try to kill Sakura in Kage Summit arc.

Sasuke basically concluded his entire character arc with Itachi's death .
Just like Naruto was acknowledged by everyone after the Pain fight so thats basically most of his character and dream right there.
So basically the story could end right in pain arc.

Yahagi left before Pein Arc at the end of Sasuke's arc. But Kishimoto/New editors wanted to milk the franchise.

You only had Tobi and Sasuke's return at this point.
So he created the stupid child of profecy garbage for Naruto, Itachi's truth for Sasuke and the fourth war to continue the story and move the plot.

Basically what ruinned the series after Pein arc was Yahagi exit , Naruto the Jesus Ninja, flip/flop with Sasuke, Tobi = Obito the simp and Kaguya. None of the new editors stopped him like Yahagi used to stop him... Everthing after Pein Arc especially the war arc was garbage..

Were you living in Japan at the time Naruto was being serialized? Do you speak Japanese? How would you know what the "Japanese fans" recognize if none of those things are true? Its really tiring that you make claims like this without any proof.

Sasuke was never the protagonist, at most he'd be classified as an Deuteragonist. Did he get an undue amount of focus? Yes. But he was never THE SOLE focus of the story. Its awfully funny that you highlight all these events where Sasuke "shines" but ignore all the other events going on for Naruto and every one else and not only that but Sasuke isn't painted in a good light in the vast majority of these scenes. One might call him a colossal kitten.

-Sakura and Sasuke are at the hospital, Sakura is carving Sasuke some apples. Whats he do? Slap them out of her hand. Latter, while he and Naruto are on the rooftop, he AND Naruto nearly recklessly double punch Sakura with Chidori and Rasengan. Wow. So cool Such a fanboy thing to write for your pet-char. 181 is Sasuke REJECTING the comfort and comradery that's being offered by both Sakura and team 7 and cutting ties with them.

How does this demonstrate how much Yahagi and Kishimoto love him? (it doesn't.)

-Why is Sasuke defeating Naruto at VoE an issue? If Naruto had won the story would be over. That isn't favoritism, its a necessity.

-Again, If Naruto blew Sasuke out of the water immediately in part 2, the story would be over.

You know what, I'm not going to go through all of this piece by piece since you seem to be under the impression that EVERY TIME Sasuke has a success, its because Kishimoto and Yahagi are showing him favoritism. I think Kishimoto is a kitten writer with a Sasuke boner but even I don't go that far.

In a lot of these you're confusing what's necessary for the STORY as fanboy antics. You want to know how to tell Kishimoto was a fanboy? its not in Sasuke's fights or his power ups, its because no matter what Sasuke did to the people around him, at the end of the story its all just hand waved away. Neither Naruto nor Sakura are allowed to have any resentment towards him. Everything is forgiven and no one is allowed to act like a normal human being because no matter what, Sasuke has to live and get his "happy ending" despite being unworthy  :zaru: and the WORST of Sasuke's acts all come after Yahagi has left.

Kishimoto loves Sasuke.

Hinata SP favoritism is nothing compared to Sasuke.

Second Kishimoto Naruto story would be axed in last than 10 chapters withiout Sasuke. So it's natural of how he prefered Sasuke over Naruto so many times during the story. You had two Sasuke fanboys at the time Yahagi and Kishimoto.

Kishimoto based Naruto in Kuririn and Sasuke/Sakura in the old anime couple that he liked as a child.

"Sasuke", by Sanpei Shirato, from the 1960's. Which was an inspiration, yes. The anime version aired when Kishi was a young boy, and it features Sasuke Sarutobi and his female love interest/sidekick Sakura on a journey of revenge for his murdered clan"

I'm uncertain if Kishimoto planned SS since the beggining, changed his plans to NaruSaku at the beggining of part 2 and come back to SS/NH after fake confession.

Yes, we all know Kishimoto's favorite character to write was actually Sasuke. (because Sasuke is an easy character to write. Doesn't take much to make the "Avenger" cool. in fact its an almost fool proof archetype--the mistake is that he practically broke the story in service to his pet and shafted his actual main character.) I don't think Yahagi came close to approaching Kishimoto's level of fanboy in regards to Sasuke there is nothing in his  tenure as editor that shows me that. In fact, its AFTER he leaves that Kishimoto goes out of control.

Yahagi was editor until the pein arc or shortly after it and you can tell  :zaru: not only that but the same time Yahagi is leaving is when Kishimoto REALLY wants to end Naruto (probably because he knew what a struggle working on it without him would become.)

The story would have been better served if Sasuke did die but the story would have been better served by lots of things.

I don't care about some 1960's ninja show. Naruto is a different story, with different events and character dynamics. Naruto doesn't exist in it, he's not the main character whose crush is set on her from the moment she's introduced and Sakura does not spend her time as Sasuke's sidekick in it--in fact they spend the vast majority of the series never meeting even after they're married.

On a base level Naruto is similar to DB, but Naruto is clearly NOT dragon ball.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don't find Sasuke post 699 to be abusive so much as neglectful. You kind of have to be around or in contact with a person to abuse them  :zaru: He's definitely a bad father and a kitten husband--and Sakura's a stupid bimbo for putting up with it because "He's just soooooo good looking." (Which seems to the only thing about him that matters to her.)

Making sense of these characters becomes difficult whenever Sasuke is involved with them because its like they all loose their damn marbles and stop behaving like rational human beings. This goes for Naruto as much as it does Sakura, and even a lot of side characters like Tsunade and Kakashi. Why wouldn't Tsunade put a hit out on a missing Nin from HER VILLAGE--the one she's now Hokage of, whose run off with known criminal (who attacked said village) Orochimaru? Oh because She's got a soft spot for Naruto and Sakura (or some kitten like that)

Why would Kakashi encourage Sakura and Naruto to continue chasing him? Oh, because "Those who abandon their teammates are worse than trash." Sasuke's the one who abandoned them, he's the trash. Relationships are RECIPROCAL. Sasuke gives nothing but negativity to them after the chuunin exams. They weren't even together all that long. Teaching them that no matter what someone does you can't cut them out is one of the worst lessons Kishimoto tried to impart on his readers.

There is nothing about him that inspires the sort of lifelong devotion and self sacrifice Naruto and Sakura go through for him. Not one thing.

"Oh he saved Naruto's life that one time!" Oh yea, and then tried to kill him like 3-4 other times after. And we'll never know why Sakura "Loves" him other than he's cool because that is literally the only justification we've gotten.

To me, Sasuke will always be the worst character in Naruto and its not because of what he's personally done but how the entire world and the characters themselves seem to bend and warp around him.

The first line pretty much sums up western media for at least the past decade.

That was probably suppose to be either aimed at me or just everyone here in general. Anyways the big problem with the pairings is they put them together in such a way that it damaged the very story itself. Then not help by how the pairings are presented as very negatively. SS, Sasuke pretty much does everything in his power to avoid his family for 12 years and we are just suppose to assume he must care for them deep down, and Sakura still acts like a school girl with a crush. nH, Naruto throws himself into his job to avoid his family, and Hinata is so passive she let her kids issues flourish into problems that consume them. There were always problem with Naruto beyond the pairings, but the last minute swap made it worse.

I think I was saying this before Boruto even came out. Any sequel of Naruto first needs to deal with; what did Naruto actually accomplish/do to bring about world peace, end the cycle of hatred, and reform the ninja system? Boruto never touches upon it and its often feels like nothing at all. Not helped by the fact that the Neo-SNS conflict makes any accomplishment Naruto did succeed in feel like it gone up in smoke.

Now, I have to defend Kishimoto. Ikemoto is the person in charge of Boruto, Kishimoto is an adviser. The story is Ikemoto's fault some stupid ideas like the ninja tech is kishi's if he suggested it. Granted he probably did remember the skyscrapers.

Anything that is not all in at this point is a waste of time.

As someone who just saw the trailers/stills for Indian Jones and The Dial of Destiny, this rings painfully true  :twitch: "Museums are bad, capitalism is theft!!" And then the endless, unoriginal remakes that can't even hope to match the original being funneled down the necks of the masses like they're geese intended for foie gras...Anyways, moving on...

There were so many issues in the original series like; IF everyone hated Naruto as a baby, who the kitten raised him from birth to age 5? Why didn't his GODFATHER visit him before 12? Why didn't Kakashi, his father's student appear in his life? Why didn't Mikoto who was apparently friends with Kushina do something? The more Kishimoto begins to show the past, the less the present makes sense and that is never a good sign. All those people knew he was having a hard time as a kid and not one of them did a damn thing, that makes them all dirtbags.

NH having to literally retcon pre-established canon and relationships WAS deeply damaging--The Japanese fandom turned on Naruto after The Last, calling him a scumbag. Because if its TRUE that he never loved/liked Sakura seriously and only bothered her because of his rivalry with Sasuke...then that really makes him the worst sort of guy. Not only that but it flies in the face of "Naruto doesn't understand love/like, he only knows how to equate romantic love with love for a type of food." (Never mind that he actually DOES understand LOVE as evidenced repeatedly through the series.) How do you chase after a girl and try to kiss her, imagine being her boyfriend when you only like them like you like a bowl of ramen? Naruto's got some weird food fetishes there  :hm:

So there's one problem, and then we have the issue of how "Hinata was bullied by kids in school despite being the HEIR to one of the most influential clans in the village+she was secret friends with Naruto all along and ALWAYS there for him even before Iruka!!! also, BYAKUGAN PRINSESSU!!!

So wait, Naruto was never really alone, nor was he ever REALLY an Underdog because he's got all these flashy bells and whistles--Kyuubi, Super talented/strong mom and dad, Reincarnation of  some demigod, foretold by prophecy nonsense. It invalidates everything and these are issues stemming from the original series.

Why would anyone root for Naruto as a person after this? So the title character is ruined and now you're gonna start a spin off with his son? Wow, so exciting.

Kishimoto didn't care enough about his own MAIN CHARACTER's CHILD (The titular character of his spin off) To remember to give him his genetically inherited Byakugan eyes (Which are not like Sharingan and are unlocked since birth.) but somehow kittens up and gives him whiskers for no reason. On top of that, said spinoff star is an ungrateful kitten for no reason. OK your dad's busy? At least you HAVE A DAD  :zaru: And one that doesn't beat you to boot! Oh and a mom, and a sister, and FRIENDS. What's so bad about his life again? Oh, he didn't get enough hugs from daddy or w/e.

All the OG main cast have kitten home lives, one lives alone with her kid, the other TWO avoid their families (Secretly longing to be with one another I'm sure.) They don't hang out, there is no team 7 dynamics that most of the fans were hoping to return to. "We just want to show real adult struggles, debt, balancing family and work..." No one wants to see that. "Sasuke's on a secret mission and he CAN'T EVER SEE HIS KID." More like he doesn't want to. I mean, since WHEN has Sasuke ever stopped doing something he wanted to do because he was told not to do it?  :umm:

Sakura's ok to be ditched by her "husband" for YEARS despite her massive, inexplicable burning obsession with him. She's crazy enough to follow after him 9months pregnant but not willing to follow him while their child grows up so that she can know her father? Uhuh. That makes no sense. ITS TOO DANGEROUS!! Yes, It seems like Sasuke's had a REALLY rough time out there on his own. (I'm pretty sure there is no place safer for Salad than being stuck between her Healing-Tank of a mom and Whatever the kitten you'd classify Sasuke as.) but gotta find some stupid excuse not to write these two characters being near one another for any length of time since they make NO SENSE. Sakura's in debt despite working? HOW? she's not stupid, she's not mathematically challenged, she's likely the BEST doctor on their continent. (she should ditch Ninja work and go into private practice, clearly.) but hehehe its funny or something.

Sakura and Sasuke's relationship lacking foundation comes from the original series and is just another problem that carries over into Burrito.

Oh but all the Kage's come to the table and decide things together now!! Thats what Naruto changed about the system! :fu: Nevermind that the U.N doesn't work in the real world & that it ain't gonna work in Naruto-verse. As the "Child of Prophecy" Naruto was supposed to change the Ninja world, but like you said; NOTHING seems to have changed other than them being increasingly "Defunct" (Boy, I hope Naruto set up a trade school to help struggling ninja's earn back some revenue now that they're out of jobs...another issue from the OG series. How are soldiers from the cradle going to adjust to an increasingly peaceful society?) They're still training children to be soldiers and its still a world where Orochimaru, the sick Dr. Mengele of Naruto world is out there prancing around, immortal, continuing his human experiments for no explainable reason what so ever.

Aliens. It wasn't cool when Kishimoto threw that in and Burrito just doubled down on it and added moar, because there aren't any worthwhile threats left on earth to deal with (apparently--IGNORE OROCHIMARU'S EXISTENCE.) I'm still trying to understand why Kaguya even bothered to have babies if she was just going to hate them and try to kill them later anyways.

Its just one cop out after another.

I think Ikemoto and Kishimoto were talking and sort of exchanging ideas--hence the futuristic setting of Burrito. Kishimoto was doing Samurai 8 and it influenced his ideas which trickled to Ikemoto.

But thats just my assumption.

The whole Cyborg/Android kitten is 99% Ikemoto I'm sure.

Akira Toriyama spent the four arcs building up Gohan and even by the end of the series, he still don't live up to the popularity Vegeta and Goku had. He tried Goten/Trunks and was worse.
30 years laters. They never attempt to completely erase Goku or Vegeta for Gohan or Trunks.

In Boruto's cases it's much worse. They made 0% building up for Boruto and Kawaki. Naruto ends, and then they immediately show a fanbase that's attached to the old cast/Clans/Uchihas.

Boruto and Kawaki who are Sasuke/Naruto replacements with some alliens and androids.  They still completely changed the author and artstyle of the series with Ikemoto turning the Boruto manga completely unrecognizable to old Naruto Fans. Who tought this was a good idea?

The people who wanted to keep milking a fat-cash cow, but they forgot to feed it high quality food and killed the thing instead.

You seem to be mistaking me for someone else because at no point have I EVER said "The sole reason this franchise is failing is because of the pairings." I think its failing because of bad writing in the original franchise, which Burrito is BUILT on. (Is part of that bad writing the final pairs? yup. is it all of it? nope. )If you build a new house on an old, rotten foundation nothing good will come from it.

They would have been better off focusing on the cast as YOUNG ADULTS, finding their own places in the world and navigating it in the aftermath of a "War" what comes next? But I think that would have been too difficult especially since Kishimoto wanted to move on from the series.

Ultimately Burrito lacks all the charm that made up for Kishimoto's spotty writing. From the characters to the whole "lets make it futuristic!!!" angle that obliterated the fantasy meets modern-archaic setting which had made Naruto as a world so interesting-- and that probably came from Kikittenmoto himself since he pulled it in Samurai 8 too.  :zaru:

I don't expect nor really want a reboot. Why would I want a reboot from someone so inept and wishy-washy? The only enjoyment i would get out of it would be to see the fandom explode.

The only way to fix it is an all in big gamble, but its increasingly clear that there is no will to do so. They will keep testing and playing it safe that will just eat up time and not amount to anything. At this point if they were smart just cancel that manga and let the anime do whatever. At least the pace would pick up.

Its a desperate gamble and it'd be an obvious ploy. Like I said, if he did it it'd have to be for HIMSELF because there is no guarantee that people would come back for it.

In addition to the pairings and the writing being all wrong, I think another mistake was even bothering to focus on the kids. They wanted to bring in a new generation but all the people who actually buy merch and are invested in the series are basically adults just hoping to get a few glimpses of their favorite OG char.

On the subject of SS, I'll just say "A golden turd is still a turd." Its somehow more "popular" than NH--because its being carried on the back of Sakura stans, but its still garbage.

By now I don't think its possible for Kishimoto to recover this series/franchise. The damage is done, the audience has mostly moved on. Even his Space Samurai Series didn't do so great. Maybe it was because of the concept, maybe it was because he pissed a buttload of people off with Naruto's decreasing quality/kitten ending, probably a bit of both. Plus, his writing is probably only a little bit better than Ikemoto's  :chuckle:

The one thing I will say in Kishimoto's defense is that he NEVER dressed kids like strippers.

And even if he pulled the ultimate out--his built in reset button and suddenly everything in the war arc and after was the characters trapped in a Nightmarish Infinite Tsukiyomi, he probably wouldn't be able to draw back the massive consumer base he used to. The only reason to do it would be so that he finally got to write the ending he actually wanted.

But I don't think we'll ever see that so  :zaru:

The stage costumes are so nice, I remember seeing them a few years ago and I still love them.

I can't help but laugh a little seeing them fake fight in broad daylight--probably looks way less silly on stage though.

I think everyone is discounting the biggest fandom demographic of all; The nonshippers. They didn't CARE who ended up with who, they cared about the story and the specific characters they liked. The story quality declined+ended and they all moved on. Burritto didn't feature their favs enough to bother keeping up with, and if they had they would be sorely disappointed with what they got.  :zaru:

From the get go you were only ever going to get a TINY fraction of the original Naruto fanbase to follow this kitten. By the Time Naruto ended most of the people who followed it from the start were entering or already in adulthood and had little interest in KID characters.

Characters literally contradict themselves in the span of a single chapter, Naruto's dialogue about wanting to die with Sasuke is blatant character assassination and it all ultimately serves no purpose (almost as if the author is telling us to pretend this part of the story never happened). Everything post 450 makes it abundantly clear that Kishimoto has no idea what he wants to do with this series. Sasuke is a member of the Akatsuki after the Itachi fight, but literally after the Pain arc, he spouts nonsense about no longer being a member since he upheld his end of the bargain to capture Bee. It was made clear that he was going to attack the leaf village (which would have been a better set piece than the bloated war arc) (hell, I don't even think Pain should have been given the opportunity to enter the leaf village since it undermines Sasuke's desire to do this). Not to mention all of these villains who are really being controlled by surprise surprise other villains (Pain < Obito < Madara < Zetsu < Kaguya < Aizen < Marijuana). The love, care and attention this shounen manga had been given over the course of 400+ chapters was erased and Naruto quickly devolved to same escalation/power-level/beam-spam nonsense you can find in any other series.

I'm pretty sure I recognized that the series was starting to get wonky right after Sasuke "Killed" Itachi and the whole reveal happened. I'm convinced Kishimoto did not originally intend for Itachi to be "A good guy all along." what he needed was a REAL reason for Naruto and Sasuke to fight to the death because the whole "I'mma bring Sasuke back to Konoha" Just wasn't cutting it as a justification. There is no reason for ANYONE who "loves" Sasuke to stop him from revenge.

Reason #1 why SasuKarin would have been better than Sasusaku. Karin actually supports him in his goal instead of moralizing about things she can't understand.

Essentially, the more Akatsuki members dead=the worse the story got  :hehehe:

Also, The War Arc made ABOSULUTELY NO SENSE ANYWAYS. You're gonna make squads of ALL long distance fighters and then Squads of all short range fighters? What the ever loving hell is that about? Tactically its the stupidest thing i have ever heard of. Kishimoto played RPG'S before, he should have known better. You always want a well rounded group. It was lazy because he couldn't be bothered to think about which character's skills would play off another's best.

And I'm still salty that Sakura and Sasori+Chiyo (if you count filler) didn't get a 2nd match up, (not that it would have lasted long since Sasori without puppets and poison is kinda useless :chuckle: ) those were the people SHE emotionally impacted, not Zabuza and Haku. Which brings me back to Kishimoto being a liar since it was around this time that he said "I want to Focus on Sakura and Kakashi" and he didn't  :hm:

#989515 Why do Sakura and Hinata's stated feelings always get preference over Nar...

Oh, to think of all the things this story could have been.

Instead we get:
"You only liked me because of your rivalry with Sasuke." and "Naruto doesn't understand love. He loved Sakura like a potato and thought Hinata wanted to eat him." completely invalidating the entire character and his motivations.  :zaru:

They could have done that "Breakup" Respectfully, "I know you like me, and for a time I thought I liked you to but...nothing ever came of it and there's someone else out there who you should give a chance to." But Nah Hinata had to be HIS FIRST AND ONLY LOVE.

Obito being Naruto's dark mirror was such an interesting concept that was also ruined. Like I'm glad Obito redeemed himself but Naruto never needed to call him a "Cool guy" and proceed to copy his haircut. its just kittening weird.

In all honesty I don't think talking about what Kishimoto said matters much unless you can pinpoint when he said it and where we were in the story because he's proven to be an unreliable liar to the public. You have to look at the story and match it to his words to see what the real intent was. Its really the same issue with the VA's. Junko was routing for Naruto to get his girl and then after the ending she kinda complained and griped but in order to keep voicing Naruto she had to change her tune.

The VA's are just voices, what they want doesn't matter--not if they want to keep a paycheck.

At least half of the SS fandom were opportunists and supported NH only to remove Naruto out of the equation.

They were so emotionally invested with SS and absolutely couldn't accept NS after part 1. It's a matter of pride for SS fans.  They didn't care to support Sakura after 469 because supportting Sakura at that moment means helping NaruSaku and showing to Kishimoto he was right to try the NaruSaku route. Basically only NS fans liked Sakura at the time.  As soon SasuSaku become canon these fans simply throwed NH into the trash to support 100% SS and Sakura.

I'm going to say kitten to this. The one thing every one should realize about Sakura fans by now is that they are DIE-HARD fanatics. Doesn't matter who she's with, what they're supporting is SAKURA first and foremost. If SS fans are first and foremost Sakura fans, 469 wouldn't turn them on her. In fact there isn't much Sakura could do to turn away her fans since so many of them still support her despite SS being canon.

And even if you HATE SS and whats happened to Sakura since, as her fan you just ignore all the bad kitten and make your own story up.

In fact, I'd argue its not SS that's "boosted" Sakura's popularity, its just that Sakura's fans like her REGARDLESS of her kitten husband and come out in force from every angle to support her when given the opportunity. We tend to be so hardcore we remain invested years after the fact.

Its weird because Kishimoto showed that he actually COULD handle long-term, unrequited love pretty well in Jiraiya/Tsunade. Jiraiya continues to love her, doesn't press the issue and be a "creep" about it. (Although I have met a few people who absolutely hate him because he peeks on women in the baths.)

This man is so inconsistent with his writing and his words its unreal. Its like if genius and stupidity were embodied in a single man  :argh:
