Many suspect it was to end at frieza but others say Cell.
There is proof that the author, said he was given a reason to continue it, either by the company wanting him to do more or something like that, but the deal is, the story had a whole new chain of events, from the raditz to freiza arcs, all those events flowed together, so what happened with past frieza? Have the android to majin buu sagas flow together.

i know but its still a surprise that he considered ending it after the first arc or even the baba arc to which i found funny that fans inspired him to continue after that arc

I think he intended it firstly to end softly on Frieza and give birth to a new, Gohan-centric Dragonball series (which you can clearly see elements of in the Cell arc), but in typical fashion creativity gets shafted for no reason.

figured as much even though the buu saga was bad it wasn't terrible besides it could of ended way sooner then that its kinda like what bryke did with legend of korra it was intended to be a mini series but due to high views it got renewed for 3 more seasons but i don't talk about korra on here much since it mostly gets bashed by users but anyway again even though the buu saga is weaker then the frieza and cell saga's its still enjoyable

Not the Buu Saga I assure you. Toriyama wanted to end it long before that. (to those that don't already know) Funny, I remember when the last episode aired, I was under the impression that their were more episodes and complained "Why weren't they showing what's happening next?"

No, it got shafted because the Dragonball Z fans didn't want Gohan...they wanted Goku. The fans pratically dictated almost everything and Toriyama just seemed to just make up whatever to keep the story going regardless if the story plots made sense.
